Fantastic Fight From The Bucs

The Bucs may not be a very good club at 3-4, but Joe was highly impressed by the team’s fight tonight in Buffalo.
The Bills punted on their final four drives.
And Buffalo wasn’t mailing it in with a 24-10 lead.
The Bucs defense could have folded on a Thursday night road game trailing by 14 points with a struggling offense, but the defense kept delivering and gave the Bucs a chance to win. Joe respects that the roster is battling hard for their head coach.
Playing hard is no reason to drink champagne. Joe knows plumbers, roofers and prosecutors bust their asses daily for second-rate pay. Still, many NFL teams have no problem rolling over when things go bad on the road — especially during a losing streak.
That finish gave Joe hope that the Bucs can win three of their next five games and right the pirate ship with a record of 6-6. The slate includes Houston, San Francisco and Indianapolis on the road, and woeful Carolina and Tennessee at home.
There’s so much to fix with this Bucs team, but they were still within inches (literally) of winning tonight. That’s at least something to cling to rather than crying into your pillow.

This team may fight, but it excels in no aspect of the game. There’s no identity and zero aggression. It’s just bad, boring football.

To the Bucs credit they fought till the end.
However, Buffalo went conservative in the 4th quarter to protect their lead and their QB. Don’t believe that at all. –Joe
That plas a few Bills penalties kept Bucs in the game.
If Bills would have not taken their foot off the gas Bucs would have lost by 21 points.
Bucs were outplayed, outmanned and outcoached.

The quality of coaching is piss poor- particularly on O and ST. Canales is in over his head. Todd loves zone now. 45 looks like a just a guy. 24 and 35 don’t make splash plays and are killing our cap. 23 needs to be benched or cut. Where’s the pass rush? The worst part is we won’t be crappy enough to score in the draft, but still miss the playoffs.

This team has lost 4 of 5, and should have got blown out tonight, except for the Bills kept committing penalties on 4th down, and Evans caught an amazing ball off a Bills defenders helmet on a bad throw. It was almost like someone had big money on the Bucs +9.5 and the refs needed to keep that drive alive. Not that I’d ever question the integrity of the NFL refs, to be clear.

I think you mean lifeless, pathetic performance.
This team is a reflection of the head coach- soft, inept and sloppy. Might be the most pathetic, underachieving team in the league.

There is no question we fought hard…..too bad we can’t seem to do that at Raymond James Stadium……needed to fight much harder vs Atlanta.
Penalties absolutely killed our offense tonight……just horrible…..Rachaad had a nice run called back again because of Palmer’s holding…..can’t someone teach the kid how to block.

This team doesnt deserve to win, and neither does this Coach.
Start trash. Hell get our loafing players killed, and assure us of a top pick.
And the Bucs will be the comedy they deserve to be.
Then dump a bunch of them, the coach, and the GM.
Hopefully we get a new coach, and players that are talented winners, instead of bumbling losers who fight hard.

They were gifted 2 1st downs on that 4th quarter drive.
It was an abysmal performance on offense.
To say otherwise is to destroy your credibility.

So now let the losers begin their normal we need a new running back, we need a new quarterback, we need new wide receivers…… Freakin losers.
Again, I will say there are a lot of problems, but offensively the problem us the oline!!!!!!!!! It is soft. Cant run block, and is weak at best is pass pro. It is undisciplined and lacks a nastiness to compete will above average defensive lines. So you can talk about skill players all you want, but the base of this team is unbelievably weak, and has been a problem for a couple years.. Fix the line you will start winning games.

The coaches failed the players starting with Bowles. The players did all they could given the situation. Team Glazer needs to fire Bowles now! Bowles put all the blame on Byron Leftwich for the failures they had last season and now its proven he was the reason they failed. Get him out the door as soon as possible to give this team a chance.

The offense is still sputtering and shooting themselves in the foot with penalties at the worst times.
The secondary is suspect and gives up big plays .
They defense certainly missed vita vea tonight.

What do you expect ? Look how long it took to find a new offence coach remember ,other teams were making moves and we waited then hired a guy who is green and never had experience as a offence coach .

The Bucs defense has kept them in the game in entire season while offense with Baker have been miserable. The season is over. The defense will eventually mail it in with such insufficient offense and a garbage qb.
Do you really think Bucs will defeat Texans and 49er’s ?
Bench Baker losing three games at home and one on the road. Let’s see what we have in Trask before is too late. I know Toilet bowl won’t unless you bench Baker and demote him at the same time.

The Bucs offense scored 18 points and didn’t turn it over.
If your defense can’t hold the other team to 17 and get the W, well, it means you need a new defense.
Even if the offense scored because of 43 Bills penalties on 4th down, and a bounce off a defenders helmet, and a short field on a Winfield tipped ball for INT. But still, the offense did their job, they scored more than 17.

Joe, Bowels is more likely to let Will Levis get his first win than go 3-2 in the next 5 games. I say 4-8 or 5-7 just because Bowels will win enough to bugger the 2024 draft position.

if we can get our act together, we have 2 almost guaranteed losses on the remaining schedule…
with the bulk of the rest of the games being categorized as potentially “winnable games”…a lot of winnables on that schedule…
so we are on pace to be in this down the stretch…

And yes agree Les, Leftwhich in hindsight isn’t nearly as bad as last year seemed. Bowels is the root of the issues for the Yucs as well as many roster deficiencies

No, that’s why I hated the Mayfield signing. They’ll still end up winning 5 or 6, which means they won’t be good enough to get one of those top QBs.
That’s why I always wanted Trask playing. To be sure, I have no real faith in Trask, but we don’t know what we have. If he stunk, then great, you get one of those top QBs. Then, if he’s good, great, you got your QB of the future.
With Mayfield, you get nothing. You don’t get a QB of the future, you get a bunch of garbage about the team “being close” and you end up signing him again next year because you weren’t bad enough to get anyone else, and you’re not good enough to want to pay anyone.

Stop making excuses for the defense. They were trash right out of the gate. You cant say they were tired. They were trash after halftime to. The defense is bad. Not as bad as the offense but bad none the less.

Not sure what Joe is seeing but this team is getting BLOWN out in games and is not really competitive. This team was NOT within inches of winning tonight, The Bills throttled back and the ONLY reason we moved the ball at all was that the Bills went prevent defense allowing dump-off passes to running backs. this team at best goes 2-4 over the next 6 games. Let’s face it, we suck, time to think about 2024 and beyond. Start by trading Evans, White, Dean, Davis, and Shaq for as many draft picks as we can get. Let Bowles hang around next year for the rebuild, then fire him after we go 2-14 next year.

Bucs fans this year: Baker is not a fault. He has no OL and running game
Bucs last year with Brady: He’s washed. Get him off the field
It was the same circumstances as last year. The Bucs even have better pass pro this year.
How come fans are giving Baker the benefit of the doubt that Brady wasn’t afforded last year? I already know the answer.

Why is it that almost all the salty people and those who can’t give minimal credit for a close game are the same ones that were cheerleading for a 45 to 3 thrashing of their own team on national TV?
Clearly upset because they didn’t get the thrashing of their own team they wanted. Good! They deserve to stew.
and stop with the fake narratives. the throw to Mike was a decent one . there was no “bouncing off the helmet” the helmet was glanced and came down close to the same it was trajected to be which is why Mike was able to catch it. Every week balls come just around or over a defenders arms or heads … this one just glanced a bit. In cases where the defender was able to bat it away – we call that a good defensive play not a bad throw.

Fight I’d to straight strong a word. Not every one has Winfield ability but how many are matching his intensity. He looks like he’s playing for a contract for sure. If this Wasn’t the number defense in the in the redzone …. Full in the blanks
