Antoine Winfield Approaching Historic Mark

October 6th, 2023

Safety Antoine Winfield.

Man, it was a beautiful thing for Joe to see from way, way, way up top in Lincoln’s Tomb in New Orleans, the home of the slimy Saints.

Joe didn’t need All-22. Joe had an All-22 view (albeit at the 50-yard line).

From Joe’s perch in the rafters, Joe could see how Bucs safety Antoine Winfield was quite literally all over the place. Helluva game by the Minnesota product.

How good was it? Well, per Ben Yarrington of the Bucs’ media relations department, Winfield was such a force, he’s toying with setting an NFL mark.

Joe thinks Winfield might be playing at an All-Pro level. Think about it, what safety through the first four weeks is making an impact on his team’s defense like Winfield?

Pass defense, tackling, forcing turnovers, burying quarterbacks. What more do you want?

If Winfield keeps this up, he’ll make major bank in a few months.

U can see the way he was used in college his ability to finish his blitzes that he was destined 2 be a great blitzer. One on one tackling he is very technical. Very happy with the draft pick definitely pay the man 4 long term.

  2. A Bucs Fan Says:

As long as Antoine can remain healthy he’s a cornerstone piece of this team along with Wirfs. No more concussions please.

  3. Fansince76 Says:

He’s an awesome player! Buc’s are going to have to pay this dude alot!
His third quarter touchdown saving play against Olave was a major factor in their win.
How are the Bucs going pay Winfield, Mayfield, Wirfs and White and still be under the cap?

  4. BillyBucco Says:

    Throw in ME13 too.
They are gonna need to shed Davis or Dean or Shaq etc.
would rather have White than Evans honestly because we can’t be in a position where we need 2 ILBs if David retires.
Of course if he does come back than maybe Dennis will be ready.
Just sucks that there is NO WAY to keep them all.

  5. BucsFan81 Says:

Everyone can’t get paid but Winfield and Wirfs need to be priority and both are probably going to be paid top dollar for their positions. I think you’re going to see older vets have to do like Evans and David to pay the younger core guys.

  6. Casual Observer Says:

Winfield is a star. Every game. A fast thinking, sure tackling, DB. Lucky to have him.

  7. Boss Says:

stay healthy brother and he will be in the hall one day.

  8. Leighroy Says:

He’s the best player on the team so far this year. Hands down.

  9. gp Says:

It’s a lot more fun to watch him play because he’s having so much fun playing!

  10. Sly Pirate Says:

Winfield wasn’t mentioned by a single draft expert pre-draft. Great Round 2 pick by Licht … that was a dig on people who say Licht sucks at round 2.

  11. Esteban85 Says:

Wirfs first round, Winfield second round. Top two players on our team. Great drafting. Keep it up JL & Co.

  12. Bobby Says:

With Calijah Kancey and Antoine Winfield, David, D.White, Davis, Vea, Ya Ya, Izien, McCollum, Greene. Bucs-D smells like it could be a top defense this season. Just gotta stay healthy and have these guys on the field regularly. Go Bucs!

  13. 1#bucsfan Says:

Pay the man but hope he gives us a discount so we can pay other players like BM6 IF big IF he can keep up what he is doing also gotta pay our LT, ME13, LVD needs to come back dude is NOT playing like he is 33 and let’s not forget DW45 if he keeps playing at a high level. Man we got to pay alot of people

  14. garro Says:

Yeah Yeah Yeah but he doesn’t have a pick six yet!

Just kidding…He reminded me of Troy Polamalu Sunday! He indeed was everywhere.

    Go Bucs!
