The original version of Chris Godwin mic’d up Sunday is quite different from the one re-published minutes ago on YouTube, via the official Tampa Bay Buccaneers account.
In the version published early today, a naughty exchange was shared between Mayfield and Godwin.
Mayfield is seen approaching Godwin to celebrate a completion against the Saints. Godwin expresses his love for Mayfield’s throw while Mayfield simultaneously advises Godwin, “My di*k got hard as soon as I saw him running with the motion.”
(Joe presumes Mayfield was referring to a Saints defensive back as opposed to, say, a male volleyball player in a Gulf beaches commercial on the Superdome’s JumboTron.)
The account JPAFootball on X (formerly Twitter) shared the clip that has since been scrubbed from the Bucs’ YouTube account. The exchange now has more than 1 million views on X.
Joe wonders how Mayfield and his agent will feel about the release of this audio and video, and whether they’ll pursue someone to sue because of it.

That’s awesome. This team definitely feels a lot different than last years team. This team is more gritty and they just don’t stop they keep coming. Last years team was soft and you can tell the Tom Brady drama was a distraction.

Not a biggy of what he said than how he plays. No one cares what Baker he says on the field as long as it doesn’t effect his level of plays.

Oneilbuc obsession with developing a QB…… Baker already went through the growing pains so we don’t have to deal with it, Drafting a QB is NOT going to happen after signing Baker to a contract smh.

Still not sold on Mayfield. He has yet to beat a great team.
In fact, he has only beaten the absolute worse teams.
If we keep getting so many horrible teams, he might get us into the playoffs…but really, what is the point? One playoff game in today’s NFL is laughable. Half the teams that do it do not deserve playoff births.
And it would really cost us in the draft.
Thus far, this is not going well for Bucs fans. He’s not really proving anything other than he’s better than the worst.
If he puts some great teams to bed, my opinion may change.
It’s too late to think about the first pick. No chance of that happening except by trade.

I highly doubt Mayfield cares at all, it was most likely the Bucs media team that realized that audio was in there, so they scrubbed it.
@st Pete – that’s a great Arnold clip. There’s a documentary about a band called
phish, and during one of the interviews, the lead guitarist references that same Arnold clip when talking about what it’s like to be on stage playing their music to the crowd.

Clearly mayfields got game. No question that game inspires and transcends to the rest of this team. One can feel and see it.
On another note, on one of the very first plays of the game against the aints, David makes a nice tackle in front of the aints bench stopping a drive, and let’s out a yell in front of the aints bench. I thought then, these bucs were jacked at that moment and we were in a good place!
It’s a long season and we’re about a 1/4 way through it, I like what I see so far. How can anyone not?

Uh oh, that means you’re a no believer and must be excommunicated. Only those who are 100% on the bandwagon, and pretend the past never existed, are allowed to be Bucs fans now.
But, I will say I disagree with the idea that he needs to beat a great team. The Saints have a legitimately good defense, and he played really well. Even on the God-awful throw that was intercepted, he bounced right back, it didn’t affect him. Every QB is going to have multiple bad throws in a game, but how you respond means a lot, so you should give me a lot of credit for that game.
While I’m with you in terms of my preseason thoughts about not wanting Mayfield in there, he’s done more than enough at this point to make me think maybe he can maintain this. In any case, as you said, the team isn’t getting the #1 pick or a top QB in the draft, so you might as well enjoy the ride.

I dumped my bike in the 7 eleven parking lot the other day…Not in the USA…Within seconds I had four Thai people helping to get me and the bike upright. Not a cell phone in sight to record the old guy uttering a few mumbled curse words and a lot of embarrassed KOB KHUN KHRAP for the Thais helping.

Mike C. I’m not saying draft a quarterback in the first round they should draft a d Lineman or o line. But again look at the Titans and Rayn Tannihill same situation as Baker Mayfield. Both helped they’re former team win a playoff game. Rayn Tannihill even gotten to the AFC championship. And look how it’s turning out. Baker Mayfield is playing good but he’s not asked to do much either which is good for the bucs. But it’s not substantial for the future of the team. Especially when they can’t run the ball that good Baker Mayfield is not a franchise quarterback at this point of his career. Now you can bring him back next year but at what cost is the real question ❓

Tannehill was a WR moving to Qb.Baker was a #1 that walked on two different places and wont a national championship.
He got a raw deal in Cleveland , thats why Cleveland is Cleveland. I have full faith in Licht and this team he has constructed. Ive never seen anyone adapt and improve as much as Licht and i can see those same traits in Canales

Love those who back Baker… those who hate need to go away. Mayfield got a raw deal in Cleveland and (LMAO) Mistake on the Lake is stuck with Watson, losers of losers. Mayfield has done wonders for charities wherever he’s gone…what has Bonzai done for people? Nada…Mayfield is determined, gives 200 percent and rallies the troops.

Baker is Growing on me. He’s playing better than I thought he would which is around average give or take. He’s a little tougher than I thought too. But hell he didn’t play much in preseason. Cautiously optimistic right now. Hope he turns a corner and picks it up a notch or two soon.

If McVay wanted him back, he would have brought him back. Afterall the Rams were doing everything they could to shop Stafford over the summer, but no one wants his contract. McVay was saying what every coach says about every player – we love them, they’re great, we’d love to have them back, etc.
In any case, as I’ve pointed out, the idea of being on 4 teams in a year, which is a fact so you know – the idea of being a bust, being laughed at, people saying you’re washed up, and then proving yourself and building yourself back up. That’s a good story. No idea why people want to pretend like Mayfield, who signed for mid-tier backup money, wasn’t a bust and has always done this. He hasn’t. He had one good year when he had the NFL’s best running game and a top 3 offensive line and wasn’t asked to do much. This year is a lot more impressive if he can keep it up.
