Antoine Winfield Made A Boatload Of Cash Today

Who is the best Bucs defender? Shaq Barrett? Lavonte David? Carlton Davis? How about Antoine Winfield?
The fourth-year safety and Pro Bowl player had one of his best games in today’s blowout of the slimy Saints, which says a lot given how much Winfield has changed postseason games.
The Minnesota product is in a contract year and damn if he isn’t going to cost Team Glazer major money when he is re-signed.
Winfield was all over the field today. All over. He did everything. He had a sack. He had a quarterback hit. He had a fumble recovery. He had a forced fumble. He had a crazy-good pass defensed when he broke up what would have been a sure touchdown by the slimy Saints in the second half.
Here is Winfield’s line today: six tackles, three assists, nine tackles total, a sack, two tackles for loss, a quarterback hit, a pass defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
The only thing Winfield didn’t have is a pick.
Folks, if Winfield keeps playing like this for a few more years, the 2020 draft class of Tristan Wirfs followed by Winfield in the second round will go down as the best draft in Bucs history since the Bucs drafted Warren Sapp and Derrick Brooks in 1995.
Winfield’s payday in March ought to be a special one.

Winfield is a Baller but this is a Bucs Life. Dude cost us in the playoffs when Cooper Kupp toasted him downfield and we loss to the Rams, who went on to win the super bowl.
So to me, Winfield still has a lot to make up for that play.
Devin White is the Bucs Best Defender to me.

He’s the only one I’d say should be a lock for a new deal.
I’m encouraged by White’s 1st quarter but still need to see more. ME13 won’t be quieting any questions about his longevity nursing his annual hamstring issue, though I hope after the well-times bye he’ll be a beast again. We’ll see.
What I have seen ins Winfield be our best player for multiple games so far this year.

Jarrett- what let us down was a play call where one of the best receivers in the game was left 1 on 1 against a safety. That should never happen.

He saved the Super Bowl 55 Season with a forced turnover ( also had a pick in that Super Bowl I believe ). Hard not to like this fella. Played outta position/sorts last season.

Only thing that scares me with Winfield is how he always gets banged up. If he didn’t have that, he should be up there as highest paid and still might be one of the highest paid

Can someone explain to me why when it’s 2nd and 1 or 3rd and 1 why we don’t QB. sneak the ball. We hand it off 5 yards back. That’s 15 feet. Philly does it and is successful 99% of the time. It is maddening to watch. Time and time again.

I guess Jarrett forgot the saints playoff game where Winfield punched the ball out of the saints players hands for a turnover. Right before that, the game looked like it was about to get out of hand. That single play (imo) turned that game around for the bucs.

We need to resign Wirfs, Vea, Winfield and maybe even Baker. How are we going to afford White and Mike too. We’re going to lose some very good players. We just don’t have the money to resign them all. I really want Mike to retire a Buc. He deserves it but it doesn’t look good. If I live, I will be at Canton for his induction.

We will have some very expensive players to sign next year…..Evans, White, Winfield & possibly Mayfield. Not to mention probably interest in bringing back LVD.

Not a chance…today’s example, watched him constantly get hung up on blocks, rbs going right by him, his instincts are for ship and e takes plays off! He is the most overrated player in the entire league. Don’t take the media/ commentators words tocheart…watch the darn game! He was a total non factor again!!! Glad to see play action working. Would have been great if it was used more when TB12 was in charge. All his Patriot hilite reels show lots of play action but someone forgot to tell last year’s OC.

I am sorry, but everytime I see jamiss on the sidelines, riding the pines, as he should be doing; I think of some knucklehead trying to eat a damn W! I cant get that freegin image out of my head already. Him sticking that nasty hand in his mouth, licking his fingers. How humiliating. That sideline stunt will live in bics lore… right next to Neil odonahue trying to kick that ball out of bounds after a botched field goal, and falling down, many years ago. Or John mackays agreeing on his team’s execution.

He’s playing like his pops did. Glad we got him. If he can keep his head from being concussed he should have another pro bowl season that hopefully leads up to the playoffs and further and some have the nerve to call our GM overrated. Haha we got the best GM in football. He might not have built a physical team like the eagles but we still got a ring to show for it and a bunch of talent that’s showing up this year under the cap hell we are in. Jason for president

@Jarret – sorry but your take is misguided at best.
Go re-watch that play against the Rams. More than HALF of our defense wasn’t even set. No one was in place. Some guys blitzed and some guys were flat footed, meanwhile Winfield ran 1 on 1 with the best wide receiver in the league? there should have been a CB covering, with Winfield helping. The entire D screwed up, starting with Bowles calling a blitz at that moment.
Blaming that on Winfield is idiotic. Kid is a baller.
What I wanna know is, how we gonna pay everyone next year?

Lot of teams are Building or Rebuilding with QB’s on Rookie Contracts.
Brock Purdy is one from the present. Maholmes is one from the past.
Bucs will get a glimpse of one week 11 and should things pan out might get to see Howell in a 2020 redo with the Commanders as a Wild Card.
Bucs will face a couple more rookie QB’s that have been beating or competing with some pretty good teams. None can be taken lightly.

Are you sure you weren’t watching one of the games from 2 years ago 🤔 ?? Our Bucs were in full control throughout the entire game ! Carr couldn’t hit a wide open Randy Moss with nobody playing defense ! Only thing that I saw that should have happened is our Bucs putting another 10 – 14 points on them ! Bucs didn’t give up a TD and only let them in the red zone 3 times… Even the national media had the game down as a blowout, read ESPN article about the 7 teams that were blown out and you will see the AINTS at number 2 ..
