Slimy Saints Have A Rotten Offense — And That Was With Derek Carr

You don’t even have to know that the slimy Saints have a defensive meathead for a head coach. All you need to do is look at the stats.
Per Rich Hribar of Sharp Football Analysis, here are the gory details you need to know to tip you off that they have a head coach who doesn’t believe in offense.
* The Saints have scored a touchdown on 12.5% (4-of-32) of their drives, 28th in the league.
* New Orleans has punted on 53.1% of their drives, the highest rate in the league.
Mind you this is an offense that has a true weapon like Chris Olave.
The Bucs defense got gouged Monday night on the ground. Joe chalks that up to the bruising running ability of the Eagles.
Given that the Saints can’t move the ball with their starting quarterback, Joe is confident the Bucs should not get drilled on Sunday like they did Monday night — since the slimy Saints are likely to start a backup.

The Bucs have an offensive line that couldn’t open holes for Barry Sanders and Jimmy Brown if they were up against the cast of On Golden Pond. Now.
Well at least Todd Bowles is good at defense. Except against physical teams. Then not so much.
Oh yeah. The Saints are physical.
I admit I was seduced by the Vikings and Bears games. After The Safety, and then not being able to get the ball back after Bowles finally released Canales from his Run Prison —. I am done with Todd. Hope we can have beers one day while his chain of banks has given me a great deal on a loan. But please, Todd, you’re kinda like Lovie in that the game has passed you by.

As much as no one in Tampa wants to admit it Winston can ball out with a good defense and a supporting cast. He is a disaster when it’s all on his shoulders but as a role player he is dangerous.

What a fan. No Todd in 2020, no ring. There is absolutely no evidence to that Todd is calling the offensive plays. They got beat by a better team with a better roster. Not the coaches fault.

The dude had multiple opportunities with the Bucs and recently the Saints and did ‘so great’ they went and got Derek Carr (Jokes on them, he aint good either).
I’m so sick of people defending Crab Legs. He blew it in Tampa….Blew it in NO, and will be a career backup.
Straight up blessing if Carr doesn’t play this week!
The Bucs D should have no problem handling the Saints bad offense. The major question is what can the Bucs do on the other side of the ball.

STOPPING the run game is the key to the Bucs win!….
Kamara back but will he be rusty, will the Saints o-line open up the holes he needs….

If the Bucs turn up their intensity level up one notch from a marshmallow, they might stand a chance holding their own against the mighty saints led by mr. Crableggs himself. Then again, I’m not a big believer in miracles. With 2 of the softest, highest paid corners in the league it will be a very long day for us buc fans indeed.

I’m not so sure that poking that bear about having a bad offense is a good idea either. This one doesn’t set up well for da Bucs imo. Perhaps if we just keep quiet, it’ll go by fast and nobody will take notice as their famous qb will most assuredly have his way with us. just sayin.

This Defense the Bowles Defense have a history of giving an opponents struggling Offense and backup QBs a good day. Giving yards and allow them to move up the field with our favorite soft zones. Lets see if history repeat itself.
Hope not cause i m tired of watching this happen so many times.
I ve been saying that our Defense is solid but not a top 10 Defense by any means. The only time that our Defense was dominant was during the 2020 playoff run. That was some D. But if we gonna be honest most of the time we have a solid defensive performance but nowhere close to dominant. Too many yards, too many uncontested catches, too many blitzes with the coverage giving up easy quick throws.
Go Bucs, lets see if you are up to the task or if a struggling offense will have her best day.

I feared our D would be on the field to long and get injured. They have gotten injured even though the Bucs controlled the clock 2 out of 3 games. If the ain’t get up on this team it is over. And it has already been proven time and time again…..
Give the ball to anyone but mike in the 1st 1/2 and we have a chance. Mike is for the second half, garbage time when the game is not on the line.

I’m not sure that the ‘Saints can’t move the ball’ should be the focus Joe. Saints have scored 53 points (17.7 PPG) on 198 offensive plays for 944 yards total thru 3 games … 4.8 YPP. Bucs have scored 58 points (19.3 PPG) on 180 offensive plays for 853 yards total … 4.7 YPP. Saints are running on 41.4% of their plays for a 3.4 YPC average, while our Bucs are running on 46.7% of our plays for a 2.8 YPC average.
Looks to me like 2 offensive midgets battling it out for King of the Hill against 2 solid defenses. Unfortunately our solid defense is pretty well banged up, so hopefully our depth players stand tall.

Kamara is NOT gonna look rusty you can bank on that. Wouldn’t surprise me if he has 200 yards from scrimmage.

good coaching on both sides of the ball should go a long way into pulling out a victory…something like 23-17…
we should be able to get to shameis, maybe force a couple turnovers from him, and hopefully a guy like winfield can rush up on him and throw up some “W” gang type signs in his face – like when he threw up the peace sign to tyreek hill a few years back…

Well, DR, great analysis as usual. Remarkably similar offensive outputs. I really think we should establish the pass first before we run up the gut for no gain. Maybe if the Aints fear the pass a bit they’ll spread that defense out a little. I’m pretty sure NO will start off trying to do just the opposite of that when they have the ball to prevent Mr. Disaster from putting them in an early hole. At Least we don’t need a spy unless Hill comes in.

I’m not going to get too excited. We all know Winston can look like a Hall of Famer for a game or two. Let’s hope this isn’t one of those games.
It would not surprise me if he threw for 300+ yards and 4 TDs. It also wouldn’t surprise me if he threw for 137 yards and 4 interceptions.

I think the secret to beating Jameis is to force him to throw. That means out-scoring them early so they are in catchup mode. We should be able to get after Jameis with our DL.
I think the secret to beating Mayfield is constant pressure and playing man in the secondary. Unf, unless our OL suddenly improves, Mayfield will be in trouble once they consistently come after him.

The changing of the QB for the Saints from Carr to Winston and now with the addition of Kamara to the line up gives me a sickening feeling. Haven’t us long suffering Bucs fans seen this movie before? A mediocre team makes a couple of changes to their line up then come out and light the Bucs up. Just a feeling – and not a good one.

For simple entertainment factor it’s hard to beat the QB battle. Yes it’s a team sport and QB’s get too much credit for wins and too much blame for losses but the drama is just too sweet to overlook.
We could gripe about how Fameis set the Bucs back enormously with that wasted #1 pick and the disaster of his first off season and all the interceptions, but when his head is screwed on straight and he’s not eating W’s or “checking his sheets” he does have an arm and talent.
He and Mayfield are at virtually the same pivotal point in their career. Mayfield has a chance to recall his magical 3rd year in the league and take the Bucs to the playoffs…Fameis has a change for “vengeance” and more importantly it could be a great audition for the Jets!
A Jameis with his head on straight is far superior to Wilson or any QB alternatives the Jets have right now. The Jets could get him at an affordable price both in terms of salary cap hit and trade bait.
But imagine Jameis Winston in NYC!!!! He might be the black Joe Namath. He’d certainly find the hotspots IF he produced on the field.

First, the Bucs have “lighting in a bottle” with Baker. His potential to be a great QB is there. Second, the BUCS still have tremendous talent on the Defensive side of the ball. MY guess is that the Bucs will win by two TD’s. After BRADY, the Bucs know what it takes to win. No excuses, no days off. Go BUCS.

Fred … Bucs have tried to establish the pass first, with little success. In the Vikings game, 9 of the first 11 plays were pass attempts (3 drives … 3 points). We were more ‘balanced’ in the Bears game on our first 3 drives (1 TD to show for it), and in the Eagles game on the first 3 drives (nada to show for it).
Bottom line to me is that if you’re gonna shoot for a ‘balanced’ attack, BOTH the pass & the run need to be reasonably effective. Our passing has been OK thus far (Baker is completing 2 out of every 3 passes for 10.3 Yds/Catch & 6.4 Yds/Attempt, but our run game pretty much sucks. And it’s even worse against strong defenses (like the Saints?).
I think that spreading them out helps (periodic deep bombs plus run & pass plays/screens on the outside), but nothing’s gonna help more than for our OLine to start kicking butt.

BTW Irish, I hope your comment actually comes to fruition. It could be that Baker has been a victim of bad coaches or bad schemes.
I truly believe that many quarterbacks with talent have been ruined by inflexible coaches that that put players in an unwinnable situation instead of utilizing a player’s strengths. Maybe Baker has found a home where he can thrive.

I agree with BillyBucco…Kamara will have fresh legs and is 100% healthy. Any “rust” might show in catching the ball or running routes but as far as rushing, we’ll get his best and need to be stout up front.
As for Winston, he could torch us or throw 5 picks. He doesn’t have a middle ground but he does have ppl to throw to and we have some holes in our secondary.
I think their D is a little over-hyped (kind of like ours tbh) and I HOPE Canales and Goodwin can devise a better running strategy with some wrinkles but I’m not holding my breath.
I always wonder if R. White is giving something away pre-snap, like eyeballing the gap that he’s supposed to hit because the defenses really seem to hit the point of attack as if their LB is just watching White’s eyes and going to where he’s looking. Our run game is already pretty predictable but we can’t have a RB “tipping his pitches”.

The biggest question is Kamara. He is just back in uniform and might be rusty.
Jameis hasn’t thrown a big pass since his last interception with the Bucs. The passes I have seen from him are so wimpy now.
Bucs could win easily if they remember how to tackle.

Chrisfink. Winston has an elite arm. Can extend plays. Like I said before he will never reach his full potential because of his brain. Also check the 1 stat not many QBs have done and that’s pass for 5k. Also he threw 30 ints dude has had some amazing games and he has some weapons. Again he doesn’t have the mental side to be great but he does have the talent.
