Happy Birthday To Joe
August 7th, 2010It all started with a laptop and a dream.
JoeBucsFan.com was unveiled two years ago today.
Feeling compelled to work tirelessly on behalf of his fellow Bucs fans, Joe set out to inform and entertain hardcore Bucs fans like nobody had ever done in the history of the free world.
Thankfully, Bucs fans slowly began to flock here and proceeded to blast Joe for his strong opinions and call Joe a jerkoff and a loser hiding behind a cartoon. But they kept coming. They told friends.
Some of Joe’s media pals helped spread the word, and soon Joe knew that JoeBucsFan.com was a place some fans wanted to go every day — whether they liked it or not.
Joe finally knew his humble website had arrived when traffic here exploded on the night Jon Gruden was fired.
More than 5,000 Bucs posts later, today Joe is proud and grateful to report that 2010 has already brought 1 million actual visits to JoeBucsFan.com.
From the bottom of Joe’s beer-soaked heart, Joe thanks all of you.

Congrats Joe!!
Oh yeah and here’s something for all you haters…yes, that’s Pat Yasinskas telling you that you don’t know what you’re talking about…
Daryl in Springfield, N.J. writes: Thanks for the recent blurb about the Bucs not being cheap. From what I remember, a lot of people called Tampa cheap when they let Antonio Bryant walk instead of giving him a long term contract. Bryant has yet to take part in the Bengals training camp due to lingering injury issues. The Terrell Owens signing seems like further proof that Cincinnati doesn’t trust Bryant to be a starter. What looked like cheap in the offseason appears to be a brilliant move now.
Pat Yasinskas: Well, if people called the Buccaneers cheap for not re-signing Bryant, then they had no idea what they were talking about. The decision not to re-sign Bryant had nothing to do with money. Bryant made that decision for the Bucs with his actions last season and the decision was made long before the season was even close to being over. Bryant was a receiver who the Bucs rescued off the scrap heap and he responded with a big season in 2008. After that, Bryant began making a lot of noise about wanting a huge, long-term contract. The Bucs wanted a little more evidence that Bryant really had turned his life and career around before making a long-term commitment. That’s why they made him a restricted free agent last year, which basically guaranteed Bryant $10 million for one season. Bryant kept griping about that, didn’t really produce on the field, blamed his sore knee on the plane trip home from London, took repeated shots at rookie quarterback Josh Freeman and questioned the coaching staff. That’s the text-book version of how to play your way out of any town. I wrote multiple times late last season that Bryant was on his way out. The first time I wrote that, a pretty important figure with the Bucs called me up and said, “That’s a pretty good read on the AB situation’’. Again, that one wasn’t about money and the Bucs are looking pretty good right now for letting Bryant walk.

Thank you for the opportunity to shine the light of truth and enlighten the ignorant.

Excellent work Joe and Happy Birthday. As I said recently, this is to me now the best site to get up to date info and some great insight on the Bucs. And of course the cheerleaders. 🙂 Thanks.

“and soon Joe knew that JoeBucsFan.com was a place some fans wanted to go every day — whether they liked it or not.”
That is the most honest and true statement you have ever written on here. There were MANY times I kept wondering why the hell do I keep coming back here because…, well it doesn’t matter what I thought, all I know is Joe’s work speaks for itself and while I have disagreed you on many number of things, you have created A Must Read Daily for Bucs fan and for that I am grateful.
Happy Birthday Joe and go enjoy yourself a Crebrew ( i think that was the name) You deserve it.

I guess all the lobbying you did to get rid of Gruden when he was on the hot seat really paid off for you. I always thought that there had to be another reason other than him not giving you the time of day. Congrats!!! and I mean it. This is my only place for Buc information! Go BUCS!!!

DPR:
Hey, Joe populares en México, cool! Cuando en México, mi amigo? Joe agradece sinceramente su apoyo. Tal vez los dos nos puede ayudar a convertir los Bucaneros en el equipo de México?
(No, Joe doesn’t know Spanish but he knows how to use Google Language tools!)

JK:
Thanks. BTW, not only did Joe not “lobby” to run Chucky, Joe sincerely doubts Team Glazer would throw $15 million away based on what Joe writes. 🙂

Thank You Joe,
I was on TBO one night almost 2 years ago I guess, and someone came on there and posted “Hey check out this website JoeBucsFan.com”. I don’t know if it was one of you two Joes, I think it was, so I checked it out. There was good Buc News and a Few Commenters. Mr Lucky was one and a couple others. I was addicted from then on. Not much else I could do, so I owe you a debt of Gratitude and here’s to 10-6 & the Playoffs, LOL.
