New Reason For Mike Evans’ Dominance
August 4th, 2023Fans who read Joe’s practice notes probably noticed Bucs stud receiver Mike Evans being labeled “ready for Minnesota.”
That’s because Mike Evans is doing Mike Evans’ things, ust dominating on the practice fields. (FYI, Joe also wrote of Chris Godwin, “What knee injury?”)
There may be a reason Evans looks dominant. Per Jeremy Fowler of BSPN, Evans got offseason treatment on his body like he regularly does in the football season. The result has been positive.
Recent regimen changes — training and getting treatment all year instead of taking a few months off — have Evans feeling like he can play well into his 30s. Evans turns 30 in August, and he enters the last year of his deal with a $23.7 million cap hit. The sense out of Bucs camp is a new deal is possible. “Finishing my career with one team, that would be awesome to do that,” Evans said. “I’m sure they want that, and I want it as well. Hopefully we can get an extension. Would be good for both parties.”
Is full-time “TB12” a change to Evans’ regimen? Joe remembers when Tom Brady arrived, Evans, on the advice of Brady, began using “TB12” and consulting with Brady’s famed trainer Alex Guerrero, who was onsite at One Buc Palace.
Joe remembers Evans saying, “I’m in the best shape of my life.”
This is cool to learn about Evans. Usually, Evans tweaks a hamstring in training camp.
Fingers crossed.

Joe, is Mike Evans still training with Alex Guerrero and following the TB12 regimen full-time? And does Alex Guerrero still frequent Bucs’ training like he did when TB12 was here?

Enough of the TB12 regimen. He wasn’t a back or receiver. He was a slow twitch QB that valued flexibility over all. His diet and workout regimen worked fine for him but would not be good for the majority of quick twitch athletes.

That is some lingering Brady effect right there Joe. For which I am sure Mike is grateful.
Go Bucs!

There will be no need for Big Mike to dominate nor will he! …may I please rectify myself, Mike will be Mike but I’m looking at who we have at the QB position, I’m not saying they can’t be successful because that is my hope. I believe Baker gets the node as starter for the first preseason game but Trask will out play Mayfield throughout the preseason! I looked at some college film on Trask and he just may only need an opportunity….knock – knock Kyle!

He’s going to make Fitzpatrick, or whoever is under center, look good again.

Astounding that at 30, he’s faster than when he was 21. As for TB12, most QBs are done by their mid-30’s…. Brady was still throwing the ball 60 yards thru the air at 45. A coincidence, I expect

Welp there it is we know who jinxed him now

Ya just had to say it.

The big bodied WR’s typically seem to have it hardest with longevity but if he is drinking the Brady elixir anything is possible lol

If that is true then why did many of Brady’s teammates in New England and the Bucs consulted and worked with Guerrero? Gronk, Danny Amendola, Willie McGinist, and Julian Edelman consulted with Guerrero for years. Evans and Godwin have both consulted with Guerrero.

Bad memories of 2015… Tennessee ready I think was the phrase.

Brandon Says comment shows a complete lack of understanding the importance of Diet!!! Eating right is critical to health…If people did, we wouldn’t have all the Disease and premature aging starting too soon in people’s lives. TB demonstrated it dramatically!!!
What works for TB works for Everyone. If the Bucs embraced the TB diet there would be less injuries and players could return to the playing field sooner.

Pay the man.

This is 100% a result of having Brady join the team.
So, they can downplay Brady’s absence all they want, but his impacts on this franchise are probably numerous and profound and will be felt for years to come.

If a better diet helps then I’m happy to hear it.

Bestballers, Mike Evans is practically free in all leagues.
