Joe came across an interesting nugget while surfing the net, rounding up Bucs news last night.
It seems former Bucs receiver the White Tiger, Joey Galloway, is in the news, and for all the right reasons. Per Rick Maese of the Washington Post, who covers the Redskins for a living, Galloway began Redskins training camp as the team’s No. 1 receiver, so Maese twittered Thursday, via TheRedZone.com.
Yes, that Joey Galloway, 39-year-old wide receiver Joey Galloway who failed at his last stop with the Patriots and has caught a total of twenty passes in the last two years.
Yeah, the White Tiger is 39, but he’d still be starting if he was with the Bucs. Joe wonders what that high school offensive line coach would have done with the White Tiger if he was still around?

Who, by the way, would immediately have had enough of Lil Chuckys demeaning coaching style, and would unite the team in a laydown revolt! That action, being one of the first signs of the apocalypse, would trigger world wide catastrophes. Soon life on Earth would end! If Galloway was healthy, Chucky would probably get yet another 1000+ yard receiving performance from him.
After all, Joey and others had their best years under Gruden.
Wonder what he could have done with Brandon Marshall, AB, and Holmes?
History would suggest a Division Title and a Super Bowl run.
But nooooooooooooooooooooooo we gotta be happy with maybe 6-10 if were lucky as hell.

Say what you want about Galloway, but he had over 3300 receiving yards, averaged nearly 17 yards a reception, and scored 23 touchdowns from the ages of 34-36 with us. Most impressive is they were passes from Chris Simms, Brain Griese, Bruce Gradkowski, Tim Rattay, and Jeff “no-arm” Garcia. Funny how Gruden seems to be able to ressurect WRs careers.
BTW CaptTim as quick as some are to defend/like Gruden, you seem to always be the first to “hate” on the man. Give it up. Let it go, right?!!!

Ok, I got one more! I shouldn’t reveal this, as it is Classified information, but just prior to Grudens release, the Glazers recieved a priority document from the Commissioner. It stated, that if the Buccaneers signed one more player over 35 yrs old to start, they would be removed from the NFC south.. They would now be the first team in the NFLSD – “National Football League Seniors Division”. As the profit sharing for this league had not been resolved, ownership was forced to make changes as required to remain in the NFL. Don’t tell anyone where you heard this!

Yeah, I don’t know what I’m thinking! I’m all excited about Benn and Williams, but we coulda had a 39 year old guy! Man! We sign him, we are in the SuperBowl hunt for the next 24 friggin years!!! Retirement age is 63 yrs old, right! Wow! I think a player doesn’t even hit his stride til 40!! Meybe we get Riger Staubach in here and let’em grow together! You know, build Chemistry and timing while learning over the years! And where the hell is Jim Brown these days! Gotta have a couple runs left in him ! Oar- Good God man, it’s almost Christmas! Where’s yer compassion for your fellow man! Keep that attitude up, Mister, and you’re getting visited by 3 ghost on Christmas Eve! Lol! I know it’s not me getting hit by 25 year olds, but you wouldn’t want some Capt Tim sized Lugghead whacking yer Grandpa up side the head , would ya? That’s kinda how it felt watching the Bucs play the last few years- like watching a bunch a punks beating up a grey panthers rally. Enuff ta make a sensitive guy like the Capt. Get a Lil tear in his eye! Yer coach shouldn’t be the youngest guy on the field! I’m just saying! Most teams kinda gently push the old fellas out the door, before they get crippled. Mode of operation around here was- fill the Gatoraide cups with Prune juice, and send’em out there! Oh, the inhumanity of it all!

I’ll go out on a limb here and say the Bucs will not only have a better offense, but better defense and overall record than the RedSeniors. Any Takers? Let’s check back after week 4 of the regular season and see how we are doing. If I’m wrong I’ll be the first one in line; if you guys are wrong then I don’t want to have to come looking for you.

What would Gruden do with Galloway if they were still here? Did you guys forget that Gruden was the one who fazed Galloway out of the offense when Antonio Bryant got here? I don’t think Gruden would have kept Galloway around either. But if he was here we would have either AB, Holmes, Boldin or Brandon Marshall here. I’m content with watching Benn and Williams (hopefully) become stars. That’s what the reality is right now, so why not just embrace it!

Galloway was good for us, but he had no heart at all in the end and was let go for good reason.
Anyone could get a 1000 yd. season out of him when all he did was out run the CB on straight go routes. Thats all he did. I never saw Gruden come up with creative routes for him to run… always a foot race. But I ain’t hatin’ on Gruden because thats all he would do. He was too pussy to run across the middle. So Chucky went with his only option.
Him starting for the skins means either he is finally healthy and back to his old Buc days form (in which case he will be injured soon enough) or the skins don’t know he is finished and/or scared. McNabb will find out the first time he throws an inaccurate pass that forces Joey to adjust that he is no #1 anymore.

Settle down kids! Here are the facts:
1. Joey is too old and brittle to be very effective today;
2. For a few years, he was productive and dangerous here;
3. Even at 39, he would still be our #1 receiver until he breaks down;
4. This team right now has one of the worst receiving corps in the league;
5. This team would be improved by the addition of a proven player at the position (although not Joey);
6. I am not sure that Olson would know what to do with a better receiving corp;
7. We still dont know if Freeman can consistently hit open receivers;
Conclusion: Uh Oh! Can we beat Cleveland? If not, here comes 0-3 and the wheels will start wobbling.
BTW -someone posted – we can beat the Steelers with Lefty! Wellwe couldnt beat the Falcons with Redman or the Panthers with Matt Moore or the Jets with Kellen Clemens – so dont be so sure.

Keyshawn didn’t do what Joey did. Neither did Green, Anthony, Kevin House, Michael Irvins side-kick… I would say the list goes on, but unfortunately, as far as WRs go in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers history, it pretty much ends there.

Eric: Chucky will likely polish his one and only SB trophy for the rest of his life. Teams that fire coaches usually have bad rosters and Gruden’s patchwork can only get those teams to playoffs once every 3 years at best.

Sighted, You know you might be right? It did take a couple of years for Gruden to turn around the 4-12 Raiders to SuperBowl contenders. You remember the Raiders #1 offense that we played in the Big One, right? Same Raiders(really Callahan) that didn’t change that said offense’s playbook. Remember we knew all thier plays, cause they were Gruden’s playbook. Sometimes, you guys act like he is/was the worse coach to walk the face of the earth.

Also, I guess that holding out wasnt so idiotic, destined for failure etc for Penn. I guess the kids realized that w/o Penn a horrible start was inevitable. Good for Penn and Freeman as well – nobody can argue that this offense had a chance with Dotson protecting freeman.
