I would love Nolan Smith, Branch, Ot and then Hendon Hooker, but I think Nolan Smith will be one of the top players drafted this year once the dust settles
Voted other, because I’m a fan of trading back in the first with the plan being focused on getting more picks in the top-100 with a move back from 19 packaged with some of our day 3 picks. We do not have a 4th round selection, either find a deal that’d recoup that or shoot higher and get us deal to double dip in round 2 or 3. Again, who needs 6 draft picks on day 3?
Priority shouldn’t be about certain positions, it should just be about adding talent regardless of position. Where does BPA meet need, where does the depth of certain position groups meet availability in a given round? Positional value also has to play a role, and that’s scheme dependant.
This team needs offensive and defensive linemen, it needs defensive backs and linebacker depth, it needs WR depth, RB depth, TE depth, a real life QB. It needs juice everywhere on the roster.
To say this is a dumb poll is a bit comical. Reason being is that the entire pre draft timeframe with all of the mock drafts is all dumb. However, the truth is that we all are football starved by April and even dumb stuff is a way to pass the time. So yeah, I will take the dumb stuff over no stuff.Guess what? So will most football fans which is why the networks and content provided by YouTube ham and eggers pumps of pre draft mocks and speculations.
Take care of our OL first. OL makes great QBs and RB’s. Without a beastly OL nothing else really matters. Just ask Mahomes (2021 superbowl losers), Brady and the 2022 Bucs.
Yeah, Yeah I know, OL not the only thing that matters. Until you don’t GOT one.
Trade Devin White! And I wish we could trade Todd Bowles for BA back at the helm, but obv just dreaming about that one. But we have to bounce D White immediately in the draft!

@Rayjay, I’ve got to agree, the dumb stuff IS better than no stuff, and yes, this IS dumb stuff. LOL
The Bucs are certainly going to give priority to their most important needs during the draft, but when it comes to what position they pick at #19 or wherever they end up picking it all depends upon what players fall to them and where they are rated by them. They don’t have any preconceived plan to pick a certain position at #19 which is written in stone.
Brady would destroy as a HC….but even he knows he wants to leave that alone lol. His kids come first now! Maybe in, i dont know, 5-6 years, he might get an itch?
Trade diva for a 2nd….use that 2nd for diva’s replacement, Jack Campbell (who can actually cover peeps)
Trade down from 19….late first for TE Darnell Washington
Use our original 2nd on G/C/OT Steve Avila
3rd, we’ll have to craft a trade up for RB/Return Devon Achane
Trade into the 4th (since we dont have one) CB/S Mekhi Garner (slot CB maybe?)
5th WR/Return Jayden Reed
Last pick, if he’s there….QB Stetson Bennett…why not
Good drafting teams take into account both BPA and need … indeed it is a false choice to say the pics have to be one or the other.
The correct formulation is “Best available player at a position of need”.
We don’t need a new kicker – drafting one in the early rounds would be stupid. We don’t need a quarterback until we know what we’ve already got, so drafting one in the first round would be stupid.
Now, most responders seem clearly more concerned about the lines, both offensive and defensive. If that is similar to the view of Licht, then he applies “best available player at a position of need” taking into account we need both offensive and defensive linemen. Maybe the offensive line is considered a higher need than defensive line, as many seem to think (me included), but if Licht sees a much higher value pick at no. 19 on defensive line than he still has available to him on the offensive line side, then taking the great value D lineman over a mediocre value O lineman makes great sense.
Did Mark Dumbernik participate in the poll? LOL! Even more hilarious is how a poster here lauded the Dumpsternik as a genius and declared “the rebuild is complete “ right before Raheehaw went 4-12 losing the final 10 games of the 2011 season. There were many more genius gems from that era. Matt McCoy, Rhett Bomarz or some such useless QB who didn’t even make it in arena league. And so forth.
I didn’t make the vote but I agree with the outcome. I think this draft is easy in the first round especially if 4-5 QB’s eat up spots ahead of us.
I agree with the majority of mocks and JBF’s semi prediction of Tennessee OT Darnell Wright. He fills a big hole at an affordable salary and he is ready for the NFL.
If as some suggest we DO trade the Diva then obviously LB moves up the list.
Someone posted trade down and I never argue against that. If Wright is available I’d take him…top talent and he fills a need. Other than that the more Lotto tickets we can get for this big crap shoot the better the odds.
I go with Ronde first. Not only his obvious brains and football smarts but he had to work for everything he had. Great players who reach the top of the mountain with huge skill tend to feel like all players can play as well as them naturally. Athletes who have to work for it…Pete Rose is prime example…like Ronde very very successful but none of it given to him and no obvious overwhelming physical advantages.
I go with Canales 2nd because he’s a young up and comer from a successful franchise with a great HC.
I go with the GOAT next…he’s the GOAT and I’m not sure as he says in his Hertz commercial that he’d really “feel it” for the HC job.
BA is just too old and Koetter is stale bread. Is he still coaching?
D-Rok, what a refreshing change that would be! They also might take note that having someone cover Cooper Kupp in the last 40 seconds of a divisional playoff game might also be a good idea.
The Bucs aren’t/or at least shouldn’t be nearly as bad as people are assuming they will be next year…..I mean they made the playoffs with a bottom 5 offense last year.
Keep adding pieces to an already stout defense and as crazy as it sounds Baker Mayfield can keep this team above 500 assuming he can play at his rookie year level….
The Bucs also need to badly address the running back situation because Rashad White is not a workhorse back….the Bucs haven’t had a franchise running back since Doug Martin.
I missed the cutoff, but I would have voted for DL/Edge. Not that there aren’t other good choices. When you have so many needs, it’s hard to pick for the wrong position.
The team needs people at every position except for RB and TE, where they have young talent (of course they could still use depth, but aren’t dying to get a starter).
But, top priority? Well, without a QB, you don’t have a chance, so that would be the top priority. However it’s unlikely there would be anyone worth picking at #19.
So non-QB, then probably go with an edge rusher, then defensive line, then offensive line. But it all depends on the value. If 5 QBs really do go before the Bucs pick, then that means someone is sliding down.
RB Austin Ekeler has requested a trade from the Chargers.
How about Diva White straight up for Austin Ekeler?
Would give the Bucs a versatile weapon who could also perhaps play slot WR (or maybe Ekeler is the RB and R White can play the slot).
Positives: adds a proven RB weapon who will likely be better for 2023 at least than Bijan Robinson and Johnyr whatshisname the top 2 RBs in the draft. Removes the Horse Whisperer from whispering dissention in the locker room.
Cons: forces use of a day 1 or day 2 pick on LB perhaps taking away from other needs (assuming the other day 1 or day 2 pick is an OT as was voted in Joes user poll.
Joes, what are your thoughts? Especially since at least 1 Joe thinks a RB might be a viable Round 1 pick…
“The team needs people at every position except for RB and TE, where they have young talent”
HA! Cant tell if this is sarcasm or not….Cade Otten/Ko Keift and Racheed White were all very mediocre last year but somehow we’re set at those positions but not at WR/LB/DT or corner where the Bucs have actual great players? Get a clue
The poll is stupid! The draft isn’t that cut & dry. If I need an O-lineman & the top O-lineman are off the board, I pick the best player available at a position of need. RB, safety, ILB, OLB, etc. Furthermore, everyone voting for O-line is clueless. Outside of one or 2 O-lineman, these guys aren’t NFL ready. How many times do you have to read articles about O-lineman are NOT ready for the NFL & how long it takes to develop them due to the CBA? I just don’t get it! You people get sucked into a narrative & can’t seem to escape the vacuum.

1. BA
2. Brady

4. Canales
5. Rhonde Barber

Barber-1st choice
Brady-2nd

Could Nolan Smith move to ILB? Ran a 4.39 40 at the combine.
April 24th, 2023 at 1:59 pm
And I’d like to point out RB Deuce Vaughn with a late pick if we miss on Achane.

April 24th, 2023 at 4:18 pm
BA – Head Coach
Rhonde – DC/CB coach
Brady – OC/QB
Add in some esteemed and venerable Ass’t Coaches: OL, WR, DL, LB.
Oh, and a functional ST coach.
Other mentionables for me might be Prime Time, at least for defense. Rhonde and Prime on the same team? We’d never have a blown zero blitz again, LOL.
