Rachaad White: My Rookie Year Was Great
February 8th, 2023Some players might say a losing season is miserable no matter what happened.
Bucs rookie running back Rachaad White isn’t in that camp. White was all positive reflecting on his rookie campaign today during a visit to SiriusXM NFL Radio.
White, who played two seasons for Arizona State University before being drafted in Round 3 last year, was in Phoenix at Radio Row. He said he’s relaxing in town and will be back in Tampa to train before the end of February.
“If I had to break down my rookie year, I would say it was great,” White said. “You know, it was a lot of blessings. It was a lot of things that as a young guy, you know, most young guys don’t get coming in [to the NFL].
“So just playing with Tom Brady, and all the other guys, Mike [Evans] and Leonard [Fournette] and Chris [Godwin] and just things like that, you don’t take that for granted.”
White called Brady “a great leader” and said Brady “took him under his wing.” He pointed to teammates and coaches showing him a lot of support, including Brady, after fumbling away the opening kickoff against the Chiefs in Week 4.
White’s biggest rookie challenge? He said it was adjusting to the NFL game and understanding what it takes to succeed and setting new habits and establishing new routines.
The unknown at One Buc Palace excites White, he said, referring to learning his eventual new offensive coordinator and running backs coach. White did not mention the men who coached him in those roles this season.
White wouldn’t pick a winner for the Super Bowl, but he grew up in Kansas City as a Chiefs fan, so he’ll be leaning in that direction on Sunday.
White added he hopes to get more into the community this year with free camps for kids and involvement in a Big Brother Big Sisters program, which he said he was part of as a child.

Good kid. Love his “hair-flip” he does often in interviews. Good player.

He haz a future. Already got the press pablun down.
February 8th, 2023 at 6:08 pm
I like White….now try to draft Zach Evans to go along with him.
February 8th, 2023 at 6:13 pm
I like the kid a lot. Still wish we would have gotten Peirce but then again, can’t base your life on wishes.

I really like him. He showed a lot of potential this year
Use him!

Poor guy, that’s as good as it’s gonna be for him as long as the Toadster is overseeing decay and flaccidity.

Goatfarmer,
Please be sure to include the lovely descriptive terms Entropy and Morbid in your terms from now on. Chaos is another useful term. And while we’re at it, why not use the longest word in the English language?
Antidisestablishmentarianism.
I’m a word-smith, and you can thank me later.

Some people are just stuck in negativity. So certain they know how thing’s really are. #TumescentWithGloom

I can’t go with great, but I can go with “significantly better than Fournette”!
February 8th, 2023 at 8:19 pm
I can understand his perspective.
But when you are a big part of the worst rushing team in the NFL,
Great is not what it was for fans.
Brady completes a million passes, but the point average being down 12+ a game says it all.
You still need to be better than 32 in the league if you are going to accomplish anything.
8-10 final record says it all.
DOUBLE DIGIT LOSSES AGAIN. Nope NOT Great
February 8th, 2023 at 8:28 pm
He’s going to be a good one.
February 8th, 2023 at 8:36 pm
D ROK and GOATFARMER so I guess we can go with
TODD THE TURRABLE TOADSTER ( and they said Ivan was terrible lol )
The leader of the dumpster fire in the Brand spanking new DEN OF DEPRESSION
Glazers Its time to “Siege the day”, and throw Turrable Toadster in the bay.
Time for the “Schiano Billboards” to go up across the Tampa Bay area for Toady
Ok Krewe, all and all fellow “Stick carriers”, you can upgrade and get Pitchforks
and torches at your local walmart and be ready to storm 1 Buc Palace
T3 = Todd the Turrable Toadster

I guess it’s all about your perspective. I like this kid’s positivity and hands. I can’t remember a single drop by him. With a better O line I think he excels as does other rookies like Otton and Goedeke

His comments were about his experience going into the NFL. God forbid a guy should have a positive attitude and be grateful for what he receives in life!
You grumpy b!tching and complaining old b@stares could learn a lesson in perspective from the kid.

D-Rok: I thought it was Supercalafragilisticexpealadosish.

Be positive all you want, great, but enduring this last season was just a weekly pain show for the most part, with glimmers of hope. And I stated this
“I can understand his perspective.
But when you are a big part of the worst rushing team in the NFL,
Great is not what it was for fans.”
If any thought it was great to endure the weekly azz whoopin that the o line took, have at it, but I did not.
February 8th, 2023 at 9:40 pm
Again, he was asked how his experience was. He wasn’t asked to evaluate his performance, or to address what the losing may have felt like to the fans.
You’re free to b!tch and moan all you want, but misinterpreting a kid’s words because you’re bitter is childish.
February 8th, 2023 at 10:24 pm
Young man is gonna be a good one.
February 8th, 2023 at 10:47 pm
SqIt is not misinterpreting his words, I said I understand his perspective
Then I gave many fans perspective of the team and the worst rushing game in the league.
You are doing the very thing to me, that you said I did, Sorry yiou are off base
February 8th, 2023 at 10:51 pm
Squatch You are misrepresenting my words, maybe be real.
So just do what you say others are doing, that makes it ok. NOT
You misrepresent what is said, in accusing others of doing what you are doing.
Get real
February 8th, 2023 at 11:27 pm
Finally we have a new Warrick Dunn. Hopefully he gets better offensive coordinators here than Dunn suffered through.
February 8th, 2023 at 11:31 pm
Why did even the fast guys look slow on the Bowels’man’s unit?
Because (and the last and only great QB the Bucs will ever have, Tom Brady, complained about it), Bowels forced his one field first team practices to be at 75%.
Yeah.
Let’s keep this guy.

Last in nfl rushing.
February 9th, 2023 at 11:28 am
Quoting the Buccaneers’ rushing stats is totally irrelevant with regard to Rachaad White: he only played “here n’ there” in the the first half of the season; and even then, he delivered very impressively on gaining 1st downs; which, no doubt, was a great relief for Brady in a year where it seemed that his (Brady’s) own O-line and OC were conspiring to ensure “3 n’ outs” as part of the main, season-long-game-plan.
Rachaad White’s clutch “1st downs,” turned into clutch red zone touchdowns by the end of the season.
Did I mention that he was a rookie?
What more can one ask-for in assessing and predicting a future great, rushing/pass-receiving and smart player?
