His teammates want to present Tom Brady with a consolation prize after a rough season.
With a win Sunday in Atlanta, not only will the Bucs enter the playoffs on a three-game winning streak, they’ll make sure Tom Brady avoids the first losing regular season of his legendary 23-game career.
Michael Jordan had losing seasons, so did Joe Montana and Peyton Manning.
Mike Evans said today the 8-8 Bucs want no part of putting a loser stamp on Brady’s résumé.
“We want to get that for him,” Evans said, noting players care about records, stats and cash incentives because they’re “human.”
Joe doesn’t want see anything associated with Tampa Bay become a stain on Brady’s legacy. A win Sunday would keep his streak alive, plus nobody wants Derek Jeter to be the modern standard for 20 years of playing and winning. (Joe hates the Yankees.)
If the Bucs are going to roll the dice Sunday and play starters against a division rival on turf in a meaningless game, then go win the damn thing.

I saw we have 2 receivers, Tom and everyone else protect Brady haha. Oh and move our goal posts out to the 21 yd line since we have been imploding as soon as we get there

If the team had taken care of business against not great teams like PIT, CLEV & CAR on the road or squandered away the CIN game at home….The possibility of a losing season would not be on the table now.
But Tom did say he’d rather play and lose than not play at all. So maybe that non-losing season career stat is not that big of a thing for him. As long as he’s a QB1, he’s okay with any outcome.

The hilarious thing is, the Falcons almost beat the Bucs in week 5. It took a miraculous roughing the passer call (which Brady hasn’t gotten since btw) to win the game for the Bucs. They were killing us and would have won.
So no surprise if the Bucs go out with Bloweswich gameplan and lose.

I’m sure the competitor in Brady wants to win Sunday, but for me it’s a simple cost benefit analysis. Don’t forget, Brady was once instructed to throw the ball out the back of the end zone, to insure the Patriots would face Jacksonville in the playoffs. It’s not apples to apples, but what can they really accomplish? Division games are always funky, no matter the opponent. If they play everyone and struggle, we’re left with the same questions. If they blow them out and lose a key player, same thing. It’s a tough spot. I’d treat it like a dress rehearsal preseason game. Get everyone some work, then pull the plug.

They better be trying to win. Bowles tanks this game and they lose in round 1 and he should be jettisoned.
And you know what? If anyone gets hurt against Atlanta, that’s going to suck but I’d rather see them fire both barrels than limp into the playoffs playing not to get hurt. In fact, if an injury happens vs. Atlanta and Bowles loses in round 1 because of it, he should come back.

You neglected to mention the call just prior where Scooter was clearly mugged with no call. Would have given us a first down

Every game should be played to win. The Bucs need every rep they can get. Quit worrying about injuries like there hasn’t been any. They didn’t rest the last 2 seasons when they actually could have afforded to do so.

Brady is very good at protecting himself…So hopefully we’ll be smart with players that actually do need an extra week to rest…I’d get Godwin his 100 / 1000 and get him out…same as Evans…(see hamstring)
Rest Hicks and David on D…plus anyone else that really needs the extra week…starters have to play – let’s just be smart!

Atlanta will be bringing the house. Look for more blitzes from them than any of their trends would suggest.
Those of you wanting to see Goobert or Trashk might get your wish, but not for the right reason. Tom could be maimed severely. Expect Blowes and Leftwurst to go back to first down runs up the middle-left for no gain, the flaccid WR screen for 2 yards, and a sack. Camarda is now officially the most fun player to watch on offense.

How does anybody know how that roughing penalty would have affected the outcome of the game?
We do have a defense and they would have needed to drive the field for a TD.
That call has cost us 5 or 6 no calls against Brady

Soooo many negative bias fans on this blog, does anyone know of a blog where the respectful fans go to discuss Buc Ball…….Opposing teams dislike of the Bucs can’t compare to hate the Bucs get from their own fans……is there even such a thing as a negative fan bc the last time I check I believe true fans are suppose support their teams and bond with other fans, not bash the team and each other. Biasness and ignorance fill this blog, I guess only the non-bias and non-ignorant can hold a respectful debate. Some buc fans remind me of politicians Democrats and Republicans always fighting, never working together, which is what’s best for the team. But many of you won’t see that fact because you’re incapable of accepting the truth.

The man has been pretty sanguine about everything, despite all that has transpired this season. One Hass to have a sense that the coaching staff has seen immediate results with a shift in their approach, and would be forced to move backward knowing everything it could cost let’s finish up this game and approach the postseason with a modicum of cautious optimism. LFG!
