Tom Brady Is The NFC’s “Boogeyman”

You know who the Boogeyman is.
He’s the guy (if you live north of Florida) who lurks in the basement, or in the dark corners of your house. He waits until all the lights are off and the house is quiet.
And, just when you are ready to doze off, at the most vulnerable moments, the Boogeyman pounces! Your worst nightmare becomes real.
That is Tom Brady and the would-be victims trying to avoid the Boogeyman is the NFC playoff field. That’s what Joe’s good friend Mike Taner of Football Outsiders types.
So why does Tanier believe Brady is a Boogeyman? Look at the NFC teams already in the playoffs. What quarterback do you trust? Which quarterback, if you were in a pool, would you select?
Tanier wrote that answer is easily Brady, and that’s why NFC teams are scared of the Bucs when the playoffs begin.
There’s one boogeyman in the NFC playoffs in Brady. [Aaron] Rodgers could make it two. How confident are you in Brock Purdy? A banged-up Jalen Hurts? Dak Prescott, who needs two first-half turnovers (yes, tireless Dak apologists, only one of them is typically his fault) to get warmed up? LOL Kirk LOLOL Cousins ROTFL?
Cowboys, Eagles, and 49ers fans who aren’t afraid of the boogeymen aren’t telling the truth. And Vikings fans have been lying to themselves for four months. The NFC playoff picture is much more complicated than it looked about a month ago. And legendary quarterbacks rarely fade away without a fight.
This is why Brady is the NFL’s version of The Undertaker. Brady may not be having his usual dominant season — the dude is almost eligible for AARP bennies, give him a break! — but he proved Sunday capable of still lighting up a defense.
“Nobody wants to face Brady in the playoffs,” they say. It may not be stranger than fiction. After all, you have to go all the way back to 2000 to find a trash quarterback winning a Super Bowl.

Our boogeyman is Todd Bowels not allowing our offense to play no risk no biscuit football, Mike Evans dropping passes, Donovan Smith committing penalties, and our defensive backs getting torched in one-on-one coverage

Tom is something else, he literally went from looking like he was 80 years old to start the season to now. Where he looks like he is in his 20s again. Thats a different kind of scary if you ask me.

Brady’s home playoff record speaks for itself. But he’s never been in this situation. Hosting a team with a better record in the wildcard round. I’ve only bet against the man once, last year against the Rams in the divisional round. If it’s Dallas, I’m betting Brady, who will assuredly be a dog. My hatred for the cowboys maybe bleeding into my pick, but whatever. Just glad we all get to see the GOAT, one more time, in what I believe is the greatest weekend in pro sports. GO BUCS!!!!!!!!

IF…big IF we have Jensen, Wirfs, D Smith, Lenny, White, Otton, Evans J Jones AND CG healthy on the Offense anolng with Vea and Hicks and a healht secondary======we might have a shot……..cause bowels threw away a SB run and has made bone headed calls all year… and lefty…well…just waive him off.
so we would need everyone healthy and clicking enough to overcome bad coaching.

If we beat either Dallas or Plillie in our wildcard game and the 2nd and third seed teams both lose we get another home game, but not against the Packers at #7.
If packers win their divisional game and we win ours it’s Kaaron Rodgers @ TB12 for the NFC crown

So long as he has the courage – and the playcalls – to stand in the pocket and let plays develop, Brady is still a beast. I think now that it’s do or die, he’ll do it.

This is a media talking point. Not a realistic take. You really think players are afraid of football because they have to play Brady?? If so, they don’t need to play football in the first place and I don’t know why they even played themselves to a playoff game. Ridiculous

Yeah LaMarcus, you are correct, they are not scared to play Brady…… Until he starts driving the team late in the 4th quarter…. you know…. when it matters. NOT one team wants to see to Tom with the ball in the 4th with a chance to win the game. Any other take is ludicrous.

Joe you make me very nervous. All season long you have been dispelling most opposing QBs as being trash, backups, etc., and many have kicked the Bucs’ ass. Our success in the playoffs is not about who’s at QB. We know Brady is great. But this is about game planning and offensive play calling. The defense will keep us in the game, but we’ve got to put up more than 17 points like we did that last week if we’re going to win. So, the question is not who is afraid of Brady, but who is afraid of Byron Leftwich. I would think not a lot of playoff coaches are afraid of BL.

Aaron Rodgers makes two? Absolutely laughable that this guy gets a pass by the media and people in general , habitual choker in the playoffs. Comparing him to Brady is an absolute laughingstock. Brady has played five straight games in the NFC and scored 28 points more than all of them. Take a look at any point if Rogers has scored 28 or more in his entire playoff career. Rogers has never had back-to-back game score 24 more just like Peyton Manning.

Our passing game is tops in the league almost its or running game that is hurting us so bad cant even get a first down on 3rd and 1 most times. If playoff lenny comes out we are super bowl bound.
