“My Guy, He Has His Mind Set On Something Totally Different From What We’re Thinking”

December 23rd, 2022

If you caught balls from Tom Brady for seven seasons and call Brady “my big brother,” then Joe is going to pay attention when you talk about The Goat.

Former Patriots Super Bowl MVP receiver Deion Branch is that guy. He had two stints with the Patriots with four years on the Seahawks in between.

A guest of The Rich Eisen Show yesterday, Branch was asked about Brady’s future.

Branch implied that he talks to Brady regularly but very little about football. “My guy, he has his mind set on something totally different from what we’re thinking,” Branch said.

Branch said he often asks Brady what he’s chasing in the game since he already has the big records and he’s reached such a level of greatness that history can never deny it. Brady laughs at the question, Branch said, adding that Brady’s competitive side enjoys “pushing the bar” of what he can accomplish.

As for Brady playing next season, Branch said he does not know but nothing would surprise him, adding that Brady definitely has the discipline and drive to continue.

Brady has the drive to continue—but he dosen’t have an elite O-Line to work with..

  2. Vancouver Buc Says:

Just read that Bowels confirmed that Gronk contacted the Bucs a few weeks ago about coming back this year…anything is possible

Deion Branch was so underrated. He was very quick and created so much space. I had hoped that Gage would be that guy this season. He’s shown flashes. I’m not sure Brady fully trusts him. Brady is just built different from everyone. He just is. That’s why I laugh when people suggest that this man isn’t all in or he’s checked out. Have you not followed Brady’s entire career? Fans have been projecting their own feelings onto Brady thinking he’s not mentally able to block out the noise. It’s interesting that Brady in his press conference spoke about weeding guys and tossing them out the locker room if the team perceived them as quitters.

Brady may want to have an offseason with no drama where he can focus on his training/fitness and getting on same page with wrs, rbs, te . Just may be somewhere else

First, lots of people say lots of things. Second, Bill O’Brien has been discussed and explained on The Ira Kaufman Podcast. There’s a lot of people at One Buc who think Brady wants to return and would be pleased to if conditions are favorable. https://www.joebucsfan.com/2022/11/bruce-arians-talks-tom-brady-2023-in-tampa/ This is nothing new.

  6. Redeemer Says:

IMO, he keeps playing because he’s scared to death of life after football. Nothing can replace playing for him, and I think he’ll have a tough time letting go. I just hope we don’t see a ric flair esque ending.

  7. Oneilbuc Says:

Redeemer. If that’s true than he has to be a miserable man even with all the things he has accomplished. Without the Christ there is no real satisfaction in this life.

  8. NEfan Says:

Ironic oneilsuckyall prays Brady gets hurt every game. The the Christ agree with your prayers of hate on the white man?

I hate speculating on another person’s personal life, but I suspect Gisele pulling the plug on their marriage was a relief to him. Now he can watch 80 hours film a week without guilt. She’s been threatening to divorce him since 2016. From all of Brady’s comments on his podcast, I believe this is last season. He seemed excited about beginning his broadcast career. He spoke about not sparing anyone’s feelings as a broadcaster.

  10. Kentucky Buc Says:

Let’s face it. Brady’s going to sit back and look at the offers and situations. If he doesn’t see what he wants he’s retiring..

You make the argument that a Married Brady….was the Best Brady!!!

  12. Bucsfan13 Says:

@Lamarcus No, my point was that for the most part, Gisele was his mistress. Football was his wife. I was speaking specifically about having the home to himself. Married or unmarried, Brady is still the most focused and prepared player. It’s his superpower, and part of the reason for his longevity and greatness.

    Vancouver

Seems like that would be bigger news.

  14. LakelandSteve Says:

Happy wife, Happy life! No wife, losing season.

  15. Bucsfan13 Says:

@Lakeland Yes, Brady’s marital issues are the reason for the losing season. Oh, it couldn’t be that we lost AB, Gronk, Jensen, and Marpet or the injuries. No, it couldn’t be the historically bad running game. It’s totally Gisele’s fault. Big brain logic.

  16. NEfan Says:

Not so oneiltobrady, I actually dislike BA for what he did for this team more than Bowles. Bowles is simply incompetent. BA is a deviant.

    Retire your old

  19. LastDance Says:

    your old what, brooks?

Do you understand grammar? Just asking because you clearly don’t understand football.

  20. Hodad Says:

I’d love to see him calling games next year. I’ve seen some of the greats go out the wrong way. Johnny U., Montana, Joe Namath, the list goes on, and it’s never pretty. Get out before you make a fool of yourself Tom. His play has fallen off this year, it’s only going to get worse. GET OUT!
