“I Talk To Byron 100 Times A Day”

Tom Brady’s Tampa career started with an unauthorized and mysterious COVID lockdown visit to Byron Leftwich’s house in South Tampa.
It’s a great tale in Bucs’ lore. Brady went to the wrong house and walked in on a random dude with what appeared to be a bag of footballs.
It seems Brady remains in tight contact with Leftwich. That may seem stupid to type, but there were reports Monday of Brady going rogue when it comes to tweaking the playsheet and not telling coaches.
Brady was asked about that today and implied that was ridiculous. Later, Brady was simply asked generally about the quality of his communication with coaches when it comes to input into plays.
Brady seemed surprised by the query and, apparently, felt compelled to mention his tightness with the failing Bucs offensive coordinator.
“I have a great relationship with Byron. I talk to Byron 100 times a day. We talk about everything,” Brady said before concluding the media session.
Maybe Brady is the guy who has kept Leftwich employed? If they’re that tight and working shoulder-to-shoulder texting and talking as often as teenage girls, then Brady may think Leftwich is the right guy to dig him out of the mess that is the Tampa Bay offense.

With Tom Brady, ‘image’ has always been important. Throwing BL under the bus in the media isn’t his style. I’m sure that he had to bite his tongue a lot of times in his relationship with Bill Belicheck too.
I surmise that Tom Brady knows full well what the problems are with this offense, and that those problems start with the OLine. Still, you are where you are and you got what you got. We can’t manufacture new OLinemen at this point in the season.
I think it was TBBF who recently noted that Brady has lost a BUNCH of weight this season. To me he looks gaunt & maybe in the 200-210 range instead of his past 225 lbs. For someone with his own chef, that’s pretty strange. Got a hunch there’s a lot going on behind the scenes at 1 Buc Palace that none of us know anything about. That’s very often the case in situations like this.

When you think about it. Listing to Byron talk once feels like a bunch of different things at once. Without ever actually understanding anything.
Maybe Tom is a confused and tired as the rest of us after just a 10-minute presser.
He was relating to the people here. Only difference is Tom, in a 90-minute practice session, Tom has a 90 – 10 second to 1-minute conversations with Byron.
History will show this season played out like a broken record, LITERALLY!!!
What about the other 10-minutes you ask? Tom listens to Leftnutts pressers too.

Maybe he is just being polite and not saying 99times a day I tell Byron he is wrong and once a day he says okay
That’s kind of how our offense works – 1 good play, 99 bad, 1 good, 99 bad

I should elaborate –you never (well HARDLY ever) hear of a coach or player basically saying ” this guy SUCKS, and we’re losing because of HIM” The elephant in the room is the O-line, which is why we can no longer run the ball, and that other teams can pay the pass first and STILL stop the run, AND still manage to pressure the QB one drop-back or of three, whilst eliminating all pass routes from our playbook that take longer than 2.2 seconds to run.
How can Brady or any coach just walk up to a mic and SAY that?

Leftwich is trash. Look at the Chargers oline. They are worse than the Bucs if that’s possible. But they find ways to score by being creative. Leftwich needs to go.

Think any1 who truly has seen at least majority of BUCS games this yr, it’s been clear that Brady hasn’t been as sharp or as “great’ in yrs past. But honestly, outside of the Sane Fran game, he really hasn’t been the issue. He’s still much better than Brees, Manning & Big Ben were in their final seasons. It’s fair to lay some blame at Brady’s feet cuz he is the QB, but this yr he’s basically been forced to try not to give games away & play game manager role. There’s this myth that Brady was game manager early on in career. 1st yr he def was, but after that he was anytbing but. Peeps gotta remember when this dude started he wasn’t exactly playing with Kelce & Tyreke Hill with a stud RB. The team was built round DEF, and so yeah they were big part of early SBs but he was a top 5 QB from yr 2 & never looked back.
But this yrs he’s def been game manager but it’s outta necessity. The line has been huge letdown. Injuries obv biggest part of that, but it 1000 starts there. Then there’s the drops, and always seems like BUCS wrs getting dinged up. Even during the SB yr, Evans & Godwin were constantly missing snaps & even some games from dif injuries. Line play, drops & bad penalties, and a jeckyl & HYDE DEF are biggest causes for mediocre season. Then I’d put coaching followed finally by Brady. He’s def on list but least of probs. Could even throw Light on there who for most part has been a really good GM last few yrs. But if the BUCS didn’t want to let Brady go, and wanted to give it another go, they should’ve invested a lil more. 2 more additions really could’ve been dif tween a 11-6 season & a 9-8 season. Anyone who wants to blame Brady can do so at own peril. Y’all will never learn. Or Maybe u just figure, if u keep on the train it’s eventually Brady gonna fall off. He just needs a clean pocket & he can still pick teams apart. Wouldn’t be surprised if they limp into playoffs & all the sudden find selves in NFC champ. Long a post & Twitter/character limits have people unable to handle a few paragraphs anymore & so no1 will read this anyways. But thankfully, I dont do it for peeps to read. I just like putting my thoughts down.

I believe Tom Brady, Byron Leftwich and Todd Bowles pushed Ariens upstairs and Bowls got the head job and Leftwich is upset about it and sabotaged the season

If he’s not just giving reporters a big load, then this confirms one thing I’ve said several times here, that Brady is one of 2 or 3 prominent BL loyalists. So here’s your answer about why BL is still employed. And this shouldn’t change the underlying criticism about BL. Hence part of the problem we have is this misplaced loyalty.

First and foremost our Bucs Oline is the worst in the NFL ! Brady is not comfortable and as a result he’s not going through all his reads cuz he doesn’t have any time to do so and definitely doesn’t have time for plays to develop or WRs to adjust. Should have addressed the Oline the second Jensen went down. That’s why D.Smith is playing poorly because he’s trying to block his assignments and help the LG so Brady doesn’t get crushed every other play. Front office should be held accountable for that. If this is truly THE YEAR , Bucs should have traded for a good LG and Center. Not to mention depth on the dline. Our Bucs have also suffered a lot of injuries to a lot of great players ALL season. … Go Bucs

Hard to read too much into it it could be brady thinks bowles is holding offense back. Although leftwich and brady have to communicate. Would be nice to hear brady say leftwich is one of the young brilliant minds in the game who deserves a head coaching job.
