Jamel Dean Gets The Dreaded Boot

Joe’s experience says a guy putting on the dreaded stabilizing walking boot always misses two or three games.
Today, Buccaneers cornerback Jamel Dean, the best Bucs corner this season, is that guy.
Bucs Kickoff host and Joe’s buddy Rock Riley is patrolling practice today and delivered the news via the Twittering below. Dean was injured in Sunday’s game against the 49ers and an official report on his issue has yet to be given.
Riley added that Vea (calf) and was working with a trainer and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka (hip) isn’t in a wheelchair.
The Bucs really need Vea and Dean on the field if they’re going to have a prayer Sunday against the Bengals.

I was wondering why Dean only played 65% of the snaps, while Davis, Neal, Ryan, LVD & White all hit 100% (Jamel usually gets 100% of the snaps too). Now I know. Bummer.

They’re going to miss Dean next year. Someone will give him a boatload. Joe is right, he’s been their best corner. Hate to see him leave. I don’t think they’ll pay two DBs 13+ million. IMO they locked up the wrong guy.

My high school coach always told us that you get hurt more when you play soft. That if you play hard and hit hard your body will protect it’s self by instinct. That explains our defensive injuries. As long as Dean has that boot on tell him to stick it up Bowles a$$.

I agree Redeemer. With Dean, SMB, Edwards, Ryan, Neal & yes Delaney all FAs after this season, we’ll be lucky to be able to lock down 2 of them. But hey, we have Davis & Winfield under contract so we good. Ya right.

The strength and conditioning coaches need to be added to all the bad things that are going on on this team. Why so many injuries? Yes, they have to be held accountable too to this mess. Of course Bowles and Leftturd are the main culprits.

This is actually a pretty good team when healthy, or else we wouldnt have started 2-0, almost beating the packers and scoring 31 on the chiefs. We have slowly sunk because we are banged up on both sides of the ball on both sides of the ball. If we have a 100% healthy team than we are def a middle of the pack playoff team

The Bucs need Winfield out there if they’re to have any hope. He’s by far the best player on this defense, and the heart of the defense. When Winfield isn’t on the field, this defense completely falls apart.

This really sucks. Since Dean was put on an island and surrounded by 5th string nobody’s last year he has continued to get better. Last week wasn’t his best week, but he is by far the best corner the Bucs have. Hope he can play at a high rate because we’re gonna need him against Burrow. Plus they need to pay the man. He’s earned a good paycheck

When will this team start building a younger. Less injury prone team? Old guys get hurt more often and for longer time out. We need to start over and stip the foot, ham and knee injurys.

Can someone please tell him to turnaround and look for the ball rather than running with his back to the ball – he could easily have prevented the busted coverage TD if he would have turned around

Tag would be nuts, unless you really believe that he is a top 5 or 10 corner. I think it’s more likely that he gets a long-term offer that can be back-loaded to help over the next couple of years. Of course, he may not agree with the team’s valuation.

Funny. People still defending the Greatest Ego of All Time GEOAT. Sure, the dreadful offense is due partially to Leftwich. But what happened to giving Brady all the credit the previous two years? With Arians gone, you’d think it is even more of Brady’s offense… and it is. This horizontal Never Risk it, No Biscuits offense is the same checkdown machine Brady ran in New England. Between Brady’s desire to dink and dunk and Leftwich’s inability to call an effective game, this offense sucking comes as zero surprise.
