“Their Offense Was Useless”
November 29th, 2022More accolades for Tampa Bay’s very own Bill Walsh.
The Bucs are getting no respect. And that’s because they haven’t earned it.
Take failing Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich — someone, please! His offense, loaded with talent, is becoming a punchline for national NFL columnists because it is so bad and so predictable and so pathetic.
Just take a gander at various websites, you can read that most folks believe the Bucs will win the division. And they will win the division with a losing record. And the only good thing to come out of that is playoff ticket sales.
One of Joe’s favorite columnists, Joe’s good friend Mike Tanier of Football Outsiders, summed up Leftwich’s offense as “useless” and led to the s(p)itstorm of errors at Cleveland on Sunday.
The Buccaneers went three-and-out six times in Sunday’s loss. Their offense was useless on their final seven possessions of a close game, straining their defense to the breaking point. The Buccaneers haven’t scored over 21 points in a game since Week 4. They’re like the NFC version of the Titans, but with a famous quarterback and their rushing and passing offenses flipped. The 49ers and Bengals should manhandle the Bucs down the stretch, especially with Tampa Bay’s injuries mounting.
Could the Buccaneers still make the playoffs at 8-9 if they keep faltering? Probably. Should we care about them if they do? Of course not!
And Bucs fans are fed up with how this team seems to embrace this horrible offense and seemingly has no sense of urgency in trying to correct things. It’s like Bucs coaches don’t want to score points.
(Hearing Bucs coach Todd Bowles explain yesterday how he wanted overtime and didn’t trust Tom Brady makes the idea that coaches don’t want to break 20 points a game doesn’t seem so ridiculous.)
As a result, the (likely) last opportunity of our lifetimes to have the greatest quarterback in NFL history lead the Bucs to glory is being flushed like a dirty toilet stall in a men’s room at The Licht House on a steamy September Sunday.
If the Bucs win the division, Joe would not be shocked if there are plenty of empty seats when the Bucs host a playoff opponent (unless the Bucs play an NFC East opponent). That’s how badly and quickly the shot-callers at One Buc Palace are chasing away fans with this insulting, irresponsible offense.
November 29th, 2022 at 9:09 am
Playing not to lose instead of playing to win? Is that the current strategy? If so, coaches please note that it isn’t working. Time for a radical change to our offensive scheme.
November 29th, 2022 at 9:16 am
This continued expectation of the Bucs winning the division is not based on how good the Bucs are….but how bad the rest of the division is.
We need to win a game!!!……Starts Monday…..that is a must-win game.
November 29th, 2022 at 9:20 am
There won’t be any change in the philosophy. Bowles & Leftwich are who they are and their track records before the Bucs prove that.
Its going be a limp into the playoffs, one game ahead of Atlanta. That’s if they win the head to head match-up on Jan 8. Right now, that’s not looking too promising.
November 29th, 2022 at 9:20 am
The fact that Brady sticks up for BL tells you this is all on Bowles. BL had 3 years of success under BA, how is that all of a sudden trashed? Answer Toad Bowels, 2 time soon to be 3 time LOSER!!! Thank Again BA alias invisible man.
November 29th, 2022 at 9:24 am
It’s time for the players to stop play2and make the coaches fall.
November 29th, 2022 at 9:28 am
To punt on the other teams 37 yard line and not go for it, on fourth and two, tells you all you need to know. You can’t coach scared, have to play to win, you don’t play not to lose.
November 29th, 2022 at 9:29 am
The Bucs need empty seats now, not in the playoffs. It’s all about the Benjamins.
November 29th, 2022 at 9:30 am
How long do the Glazers let this train wreck to continue. C’mon Glazers grow a pair & get rid of BL & Bowles. And quit listening to BA bullcrap.
November 29th, 2022 at 9:33 am
Joe what are YOU scared of? An honest post.
November 29th, 2022 at 9:33 am
Licht & BA hiding out in a bunker in Siberia where they should be shipped to anyway.
November 29th, 2022 at 9:34 am
They are in danger of becoming irrelevant again… with the GOAT.
Losing culture and apathy comes next.
Complete and total hack-job by this coaching staff.
I really hope Jason Licht has a plan because Dumb & Dumber do not.
November 29th, 2022 at 9:38 am
This is the reason so few defensive coordinators make it to HC anymore.
Bowles wants his team to look different than an Arians team. He want his defense to lead and because of those blinders he can’t see where it is all going.
If the defense was healthy it might work. Currently it is not going to work.
The next draft will let the offense languish and draft only defensive players, even though drafting offensive guys is easier, DBs and D-line are crap shoots every time (see Hargreaves).
November 29th, 2022 at 9:39 am
I swear, Bowles would do well to pick up Madden and learn how to play it. Play dozens and dozens of games, and get a feel of how to manage the clock AND how important it is to keep the pressure on with the offense.
I know that might sound nutty and juvenile, but I think it would help him.
Hell, most 14 year olds that play that game have a better understanding of how to manage a game that he does.
It’s pathetic to watch and very well paid football mind have so very little understanding of how to manage the game.
November 29th, 2022 at 9:39 am
Whew! That is Jacksonville GM Trent Baalke and owner Shahid Khan saying we dodged a bullet and what were we thinking in pursuing Byron Leftwich as our Head Coach! Sometimes the best hire, is the one you never made!
November 29th, 2022 at 9:42 am
Useless is a fair description. Maybe too nice tho.
November 29th, 2022 at 9:47 am
The Bros. Glazer are distracted with the sale of Man U. This grease fire will continue for the remainder of the season.
November 29th, 2022 at 9:49 am
Reality sucks. The Bucs are what their record says they are. A losing football team. Don’t know how the Bucs offense is going to improve. At this point in the season, I would not expect any drastic changes, but who knows, stranger things have happened.
November 29th, 2022 at 9:52 am
Like in said yesterday, was at the game sitting right behind the bench. All players and coaches were moping around, including Tom Brady. Sad sight to see as a fan who drove 300 miles to see this disaster. I think Gronk knew something we are unaware of!!!!
November 29th, 2022 at 9:54 am
All I want for Christmas is a NEW coaching staff!
November 29th, 2022 at 9:56 am
I’m already thinking about next year. Gone will be the late Sunday, Monday and Thursday night games. The team will be in rebuild. Without Brady, UFAs will bail. It’s going to be bad. The Glazers better seriously consider changing their head coach. Coming off a SB win and a very productive 2021 season, this team looks like the Clevleand Browns. No wait, they’re not as good as the Cleveland Browns.
November 29th, 2022 at 9:58 am
Only one word to describe the offense. Anemic. They can’t run the ball consistently. They’re totally predictable. And, they play not to lose. Not the type of team anyone would be scared to go up against.
November 29th, 2022 at 10:01 am
DRAFT Sheduer Sanders alis SS396!
November 29th, 2022 at 10:01 am
This is Bowles. I tried to tell u guys all season. Complete idiocy. He’s obviously not going to change what he’s doing. Someone called it prevent offense. Spot on.
November 29th, 2022 at 10:12 am
There is NOT ONE coach in this league, yet I read a lot of negative remarks on this site about Lovie Smith so I can’t speak for him but the rest would NEVER take the ball out of Brady’s hands in that 36 second senerio, if fact they would be salivating they got the opportunity. And to use the excuse he was afraid of a pick when Brady has the lowest amount of picks in the league is totally nonsense. Still shaking my head over that game.
November 29th, 2022 at 10:15 am
Beardless Lovie and Arnold Drummond will lead us to the promised land!
November 29th, 2022 at 10:18 am
You know, it is almost painful to watch them play these days— so painful to know that its 1st an 10 and the idiozs are going to run the ball… again… same place, same direction… damn, didnt they see for themselves what happens when they DONT run the ball on first down… Ill be darned, they get ANOTHER first down. Seemed to me that they saw it was working and decided, Nop, dont want that going on here, lets go back to running on first down.
November 29th, 2022 at 10:21 am
This team has lost me.
What a bunch of buffoons for coaches…
November 29th, 2022 at 10:25 am
Dungy got fired here for the same prevent offense !! Almost got fired in Indy for doing the same with Peyton and low and behold I think who was given the keys to the offense by the Irsays , none other than Tom Moore !! Now that was a long long time ago !! Dungy was a loss away or a game with his prevent offense away from being gone in Indy and being totally irrelevant!! Rich McKay was a GREAT GM but had he done what the Colts did , Dungy truly may have won two Superbowls in Tampa .The Top of the Organization Stepped in and saved Tony’s lil Prevent Offense s Ass and Now he’s a Hall of Fame Accolades and Super Bowlse Winning Coach !!
November 29th, 2022 at 10:26 am
I feel badly for Brady having to play for these moronic coaches.
November 29th, 2022 at 10:29 am
NEfan,
Bowles saying he feared an interception had 3 possible outcomes:
1) Bucs lose, too conservative. Bowles gets most of blame, especially clock management. This is what actually happened, LOSS.
2) Brady does throw a pick or pick-6. LOSS, but blame is SQUARELY on Brady. But at least they went down swinging, and trying.
3) Brady does what he usually does in these situations. WIN.
No doubt in my mind, Bowles chose incorrectly and equals coaching negligence, IMO.
However, I would be remiss to point out negatives without suggesting how to “fix” it going forward. All coaches have a sitdown and agree that going forward, in the last 2-4 minutes of games, tied or down by 1 score, Brady goes hurry-up and is allowed ONE timeout, at his discretion. Why give Brady 1 TO? 23 years is why – he’s done countless times in the past (albeit with a different team) and is a proven winner. Hurry-up, which the Bucs THIS YEAR are very good at, and when nobody can or will call a crucial TO, Brady gets one. At this point, could it hurt to at least try this approach??? We have to do something different or we will not win the division or win many (any?) more games.
November 29th, 2022 at 10:30 am
When Brady leaves next year we can blame Bowles, Leftwich …….and Arians (for recommending these guys).
November 29th, 2022 at 10:38 am
When the HC admits publicly that he is scared its over. What a waste of Tom’s last season here if you are not confident in the greatest quarterback of all time to get you a win you need to get your stuff and quit. This is the big leagues where wolves go to hunt if you can’t handle that and put everything out on the table you are a coward and a coward is never going to be successful in this league.
November 29th, 2022 at 10:44 am
Coaching malpractice in Tampa. The second coming of Lovie.
November 29th, 2022 at 10:45 am
I am of the opinion that Leftwich is STILL trying to male a point to “prove” himself a worthy candidate to be a head coach, and that he’sthe smartest thing since toilet paper…and just refuses to allow Brady, to be Brady.
Being an OC with Brady as your QB, Evans, Jones, White, Brate, etc, as your offense….should be LITERALLY the EASIEST job in football. But SOMEHOW, through sure pride…Leftwich has found a way to screw that up too.
He is predictable, not creative, and too controlling. He needs to let Brady do what he does best…..PLAY FOOTBALL.
November 29th, 2022 at 10:51 am
Biscuitless offense
November 29th, 2022 at 10:54 am
Arians LIED! Byron was never ready to be the OC. Not even qualified for water boy.
November 29th, 2022 at 10:55 am
BucfaninTX, I agree re Arians. WTF did he see in these guys? He instilled his philosophy (no-risk-it-no-biscuit) and they accommodated him because he was the head coach. Clearly Bowles does not have the same philosophy, so BL can’t implement it even if he wanted to. Arians knows these guys well and should of seen it coming. I love what BA did while he was here, but damn, retiring after getting Brady back out of retirement was a disservice to Brady, the Glazers, and all Buc’s fans.
November 29th, 2022 at 10:57 am
It’s very fitting that we realized what was happening against the Browns because we are headed down the sh!tter
November 29th, 2022 at 11:00 am
Makes you wonder why Brady took that 11 days off. I think he was going to retire again after he saw what the philosophy was going to be. I recall the team working on the running game non stop in the scrimmage after he left. I thought it was odd at the time.
November 29th, 2022 at 11:04 am
Kentucky,
I thought it was slightly odd, too. Think of this scenario, though: Brady likely already had permission to leave. The loss of 3 starters on O-line at that point, the emphasis was probably, “Let’s work on run game until Brady gets back, then we can work on pass game.”
I guess Brady should’ve taken 22 days off, cuz 11 days wasn’t enough to fix the run game. (sarcasm).
November 29th, 2022 at 11:12 am
Browns were very lucky to win the game-the catch Njoku made is about 1 out of a 100. It is a shame for the defense , because they were balling the whole game.
November 29th, 2022 at 11:17 am
D-Rok. That’s what I thought at the time also. Not so sure now. I thought it was excessive at the time. That’s why I thought it was odd. Thought they would’ve used it to give Trask some snaps. Then later Todd wasn’t sure when Brady was coming back. Just the conspiracy theorist in me I guess. Lol
November 29th, 2022 at 11:18 am
The Bowles Prevent Plan I have been talking of for a while is coming home to Roost.
Cluck Cluck Cluck. Prepare the Blunderbuss for this Sunday…oil it up. It will be needed. At least we won’t wear out the cannon barrels. Give the Mascot the Blunderbuss. Don’t forget your Bowles Head Bags.
November 29th, 2022 at 11:20 am
Prevent Game Plan ready to go for Sunday. Prepare the Blunderbuss and give it to the Mascot for Bowles Blunders…give him plenty powder.
November 29th, 2022 at 11:32 am
Kentucky,
AHA! I remember the comments from Bowles, “not sure when Brady will be back,” and that’s what caused concern from this fan. HC doesn’t know where his QB is?
Then later, Bowles said it was a planned absence, implying he knew exactly when Brady would be back.
Thinking of it now, either Bowles lied (again) or had some good reason to not be accurate. This past scenario, coupled with his comments over this loss…makes me wonder if Bowles lies or is really that incompetent with basic facts???
Something is very off, that’s all this fan knows.
November 29th, 2022 at 11:35 am
All this talk of the Bucs will win the division and back into the playoffs needs to stop. The way this team looks offensively and the defense not getting any turnovers or scoring their self. We won’t even win the division that’s how bad they are at the moment. Many folks said 10-7 based off the schedule but I’m sure that didn’t include a loss to Pittsburgh and Carolina with no name QBs.
November 29th, 2022 at 11:41 am
Once upon a time the “Tampa 2” was the envy of the NFL.
Now, even with Tom Brady, the Tampa Prevent Offense is the talk of the league.
For the wrong reasons.
November 29th, 2022 at 11:44 am
@Will: after the Bucs get schooled by the Saints, then Atlanta gets revenge, the Bucs will be a weak 3rd in the division.
I will be shocked if the Bucs make the playoffs. And even if that happens, an ugly one-and-done loss AT HOME in the first round…
What an embarassing clusterf@<k…
I expect the Boo Birds to be out in force Monday night after a weak start against the Saints.
Has Cam Jordan met Wells at RT?
November 29th, 2022 at 11:48 am
The seats should be empty.
Bucs fans should not spend a single dollar of their hard earned money on this garbage. Send a message to ownership.
November 29th, 2022 at 11:53 am
SCARED MONEY DON’T MAKE MONEY & toilet Bowles is S.T.D. scared to death.
It really didn’t help that whichever below average, injury prone, corner we had on
Cooper fell on his face as soon as the ball was snapped & fell again trying to get
his footing, but by that point Cooper was gone. Get rid of Bowles/Leftwich NOW!
Also what the hell is Arians doing? I thought he was getting paid as a advisor? If
there was ever a time to advise one would think it’s NOW DAMNIT.
November 29th, 2022 at 11:58 am
Now we know why the Glazers demanded a 2-season season ticket buy! Even with no butts in seats next year, post-Bowles, they still get paid!
November 29th, 2022 at 12:04 pm
In retrospect I think Brady took 11 days off during training camp not for a vacation to save his marriage but for divorce court. It was probably scheduled last winter or spring. Brady probably found out about Gisele’s affair and filed. It takes time for a divorce to proceed through the system (lawyers gotta get those billable hours).
This is the most likely scenario so stop hating on Brady for his training camp absence.
November 29th, 2022 at 12:07 pm
Defense Rules, if you’re reading this:
You’ve been correct in calling out Licht for his blunders this year. Not signing Suh was huge, especially after we got Hicks. No problem from me getting Hicks – our D-line was gassed at end of season last year. But Hicks, Vea, Suh in a rotation? That trio, now in hindsight, would’ve been huge.
Licht brought in Gage and Julio. Hasn’t worked out yet, but there’s still time for them to shine and bring production, but I’m not holding my breath. It didn’t work out for these 2 new additions, but I can at least see why he made those moves.
Licht did nothing to replace the talent of Jensen and Cappa. They thought they were smart by thinking Hainsey and Goedeke would step up. Hainsey has been average, but a HUGE downgrade from Jensen. Don’t need to point out Goedeke’s flaws, they are obvious. But it’s the evaluation of these players, and the lack of moves, that is suspect.
So there’s a few blunders up until now, player-wise. Now, however, I think it’s getting to GM negligence, because he is standing still and doing nothing while this team massively underperforms and is mostly not competitive. Whilst I realize the owners usually sign-off on important coaching hires/fires, doesn’t the GM have a responsibility to make changes when coaches are inept? Maybe Glazers have hand-cuffed him and he can do nothing even if he wanted to.
It’s obvious to anybody with half a brain that SOMETHING needs to change. Is Licht really content with this record with this talent? Licht needs to be a leader, make some coaching changes, and do something to light a fire under this team.
So I’m with you – Licht should be doing something, but is not. And if he’s not, WHY isn’t he telling us fans why not? Don’t we deserve to be informed? Or am I asking too much or being naive?
Todd is not an NFL head-coach, that much is evident. Leftwich needs help, that much is evident. The run-game needs help, the pass-game needs…etc.
This season is wasted unless change occurs, now.
End of rant.
November 29th, 2022 at 12:09 pm
Oblivious, what you say makes sense. Bottom line is, nobody knows why Brady was gone, but it was an excused absence. When one receives a summons, one shows up in court – even Tom Brady.
November 29th, 2022 at 12:10 pm
Yeah if only Brady didn’t take a training camp hiatus his coaches would have learned how to do their jobs……..
November 29th, 2022 at 12:11 pm
Yeah we could have signed suh so him Vea and hicks could have been on the bench for that last browns drive on crucial downs.
November 29th, 2022 at 12:12 pm
It’s disgusting that these two idiots running the team, Bowles and Leftwich, are ruining the last year of the Bucs run, and coaching is 100% responsible for it.
I said it before, but go back through the Bucs schedule and look at the losses. If Arians is coach do we lose these games?
Packers – no
Chiefs – YES
Steelers – HELL no
Panthers – HELL no
Ravens – I don’t believe so as they’d put them away early instead of sitting on a 10 point lead
Browns – LOL! NO!
That’s 10-1.
The sad part is if Arians walked into the building today, and took control, the team would immediately, dramatically, improve, and in a year where there are no true dominant teams, they’d be SB contenders.
But Leftwich and Bowles are so bad, instead of a SB contender, the team is just hoping to finish only 1 game under 500, instead of 3 games under 500.
November 29th, 2022 at 12:17 pm
The opening drive which ended in TD , the Bucs ran the ball 5 times for 56 yards.
The rest of the game ,including OT, Bucs ran the ball 12 times for 30 yards and 1 of those carries was J Jones’ 15 yard end around.
Leftwich has no clue how to scheme a running game or how to make adjustments mid game.
November 29th, 2022 at 12:20 pm
Why is everyone so confident that we’ll even make the playoffs? The way we’re being coached right now, i’m seeing 3rd place in the division. Mabey Glazers playing for a higher draft pick “quaterback” knowing that Brady won’t be here next year and believing that Trask is not the guy… Just saying…
Anyway, GO BUCS
November 29th, 2022 at 12:21 pm
It’s not easy to look this bad on offense with Tom Brady but Todd and Lefty are making it happen. I blame most of this on Todd Bowles. This offense plays scared like he coaches.
November 29th, 2022 at 12:46 pm
Even a division championship is not a given! And, if we do win the division, we sure are not going far into the playoffs.
November 29th, 2022 at 1:12 pm
Dungy wins Super Bowl with Tom Moore as O Coordinator, offense has a great run for years ……… Clyde Christianson follows under Boring Jim Caldwell , Colts Tank ……. Arians Hired after Clyde and has the most successful offense Indy has ever had and Team Goes 11-5 …….. Do The Math stank finger , Moore isn’t really involved , Arians isn’t involved but Clyde with Bowles is …… Not blaming Clyde but Clyde run be Arians and Moore is 40 TD s and Clyde and his Tiger Stripes with Bowles / Caldwell is just plain Terrible !! Easy prediction, Easy Math You just have to back out and actually do the Math !!
November 29th, 2022 at 1:15 pm
Outside White’s 35 yd run, he and Vaughn were 17/44 yards against a bad run defense–that’s 2.6 yds/carry. Pathetic.
Everyone knows Bowles and Leftwich are incompetent except Licht and Glazers.
November 29th, 2022 at 1:25 pm
Saints on Monday night prime time ? What can go wrong. Lol not to mention Mike Evansville is ridiculous behavior against the Saints last time. We’ll have that defense all geeked up to come out and play dirty. Another chance for the coaching staff to look completely incompetent on national TV can’t wait
November 29th, 2022 at 2:34 pm
NEfan … ‘The fact that Brady sticks up for BL tells you this is all on Bowles. BL had 3 years of success under BA, how is that all of a sudden trashed? Answer Toad Bowels’.
I can’t stick up for Todd the HC, but you sticking up for BL is actually humorous. The ONLY reason why BL survived 3 years under Arians is because of … Arians. From 2019-2021 he had a thoroughbred OLine to work with, great WRs, adequate TEs & RBs.
His QB, Jameis, threw 33 TDs in 2019, but almost equaled that with 30 INTs. Jameis rightfully got the blame, but BL should’ve gotten his share of it because he was the one calling the plays. Did he adapt to compensate for Jameis’ recklessness? He11 no! Then in 2020 & 2021 BL inherits the greatest QB to ever don a uniform, to go along with one of the greatest OLines around, and with an abundance of ‘weapons’ to play with. Yes our passing attack was lights out, but our rushing attack was abysmal both years (#28 & #26). THAT wasn’t on our thoroughbred OLine OR on our RBs; THAT was on our OC.
So what are we seeing now in 2022? The magical OLine has disappeared, and our 45-year-old immobile QB doesn’t trust it (for good reason). Our ‘weapons’ aren’t even close to what they used to be, and our running attack has regressed even further (to #32 at present).
So instead of being supportive of BL, how about re-evaluating. LOTS of other things wrong with this offense, but the OC is the one directing the disaster. IMO Bowles has had nothing to do with this offense … and THAT’S the problem. Any responsible HC, even a defensive one, would’ve recognized the problem on offense & changed coordinators (via the GM of course). Bowles is staying loyal to his ‘gift’ from BA, and BL will ultimately be Bowles undoing. Problem for us is that we stand to lose a complete coaching staff in the process (to include an excellent DC), PLUS Brady. Welcome back to the Den of Depression.
Oh wait, I forgot. You’re a NE fan. My bad.
November 29th, 2022 at 2:38 pm
Alanbucsfan … ‘Leftwich has no clue how to scheme a running game or how to make adjustments mid game.’
BINGO! And Sunday’s game was the perfect illustration of that.
November 29th, 2022 at 2:47 pm
Rod … You’re smoking the funny stuff again if you think this team would magically turn around IF Arians took over as HC right now. For one, our OLine is a shell of what he had to work with in 2020 & 2021. For another, our WRs & TEs can’t stay healthy. Our RBs are doing a MUCH better job of catching the ball than our receivers are, but they’re almost all short dump-offs that are leading nowhere.
BA knew when it was time to get out. Bowles major mistake was in saying ‘Of course I’ll take the reins, and yes I won’t change a thing.’ Can’t help but wonder if Bowles is thanking BA right about now for the ‘gift’ that keeps on giving, Byron Leftwich.
November 29th, 2022 at 3:11 pm
D-Rok … You nailed it. Licht the Architect of this mess is being even quieter than BA right now (I’m guessing both of them will be gone if not at the end of this year then surely at the end of next year). Licht was on shaky ground UNTIL BA arrived, THEN all of a sudden he became a magician? Really? I seriously doubt that. I’m convinced that BA was the one calling the shots from the day he arrived (drafting, FAs, all of it), and that JL just said “Yes sir, yes sir, 3 bags full’. Just look at how many of those signed had relationships with BA … and with Todd Bowles.
The major blunder when BA ‘retired’ was in dual-hatting Bowles, because that pretty much guaranteed we weren’t gonna have a REAL head coach. BA learned out in Arizona that dual-hatting doesn’t work UNLESS you have a super-strong counterpart (DC or OC). Thus when he was hired here, it was JUST as a HC, not as an OC also.
IMO also, there had to be an understanding that Bowles would ‘inherit’ BA’s staff ‘as-is’. Gut feel is that Todd is now ruing the day he blindly went along with that. Now he’s stuck with not just Leftwich, but also Armstrong AND Licht. Without changes, this pirate ship’s going down.
November 29th, 2022 at 4:48 pm
100% agree with Joe. Embarrassing. Bullseye making that point!
November 29th, 2022 at 6:28 pm
All we can do is keep b!tching until ownership decides to do the right thing. Seeing as how ownership rarely does the right thing it may be awhile, but they do hit grand slams every now and then like Gruden, Arians, and Brady. Fingers crossed and enjoying (?) the rest of this miserable season on nfl+ while I hone my soon to be epic fishing skills.
November 29th, 2022 at 7:05 pm
DR, I am far from a BL fan I was the first one to call him leftnut. That being said Biwles is responsible for the no timeout call Sunday. And his excuse was just that a poor excuse. His management of this team is criminal so to let him off the hook would also be criminal. He has failed twice, this isn’t baseball he shouldn’t get three strikes.
November 29th, 2022 at 8:21 pm
I dunno, NE, I got a lil tipsy a game or two ago and went all “Fire Leftnut” on the game-day chat, which is beneath me, and I know better. If you thought of Leftnut first, kudos, and I grabbed it and ran – or drank – with it.
I was wrong and won’t do it again.
Now, if only our HC could say those magical words to appease fans…”I was wrong.”

DR says:
“IMO also, there had to be an understanding that Bowles would ‘inherit’ BA’s staff ‘as-is’. Gut feel is that Todd is now ruing the day he blindly went along with that. Now he’s stuck with not just Leftwich, but also Armstrong AND Licht. Without changes, this pirate ship’s going down.”
Therein lies THE PROBLEM as I see it. BA made it work with his type of personality dealing with all these coaches. Somehow, he meshed it all together and made it work. Todd does not have the same strengths as BA.
Not saying BA is “great” but he made it work, and that’s not up for much debate. IOW, BA was a much better leader, manager of personalities, than Todd.
Good thoughts, DR, thanks for your response.

Never heard a coach say he was afraid before. This guy is really stupid.
