A Lot Now On Joe Tryon-Shoyinka’s Shoulders
November 27th, 2022When the Bucs last took the field in Munich against the Seahawks, Bucs outside linebacker Joe Tryon-Shoyinka had a nice game for himself.
JTS had a sack, a quarterback hit and a tackle for loss. In other words, he impacted the game. It was great to see JTS step up with Bucs sack king Shaq Barrett is out for the year. So Joe asked JTS if, with Shaq out, he has been given new responsibilities as the primary pass rusher.
JTS didn’t like the sound of that question, as if Joe was suggesting he was holding back.
“Hell no!” JTS replied. “That was just stepping up. Just stepping up and doing my job. That’s what I’m on the team for.”
It may have been JTS’s best game since he was drafted in the first round in 2021. He must play to that level or better now that the Bucs are down their Pro Bowl sackmeister, “JTS said.
“That’s what we need the rest of the way,” JTS said. “I have high expectations for myself. The outside linebacker room in general, we have a lot of talent in there. We need to pick up our play and get the quarterback on the ground.”
Joe has no arguments. But how awesome would it be if JTS blossomed right when the Bucs need him most, without Shaq?

Can he stop Nick Chubb? If I were Browns, I’d run Chubb right at JTS.

The Bucs were correct to let JPP move on and promote JTS. JPP has 7 solo tackles and 2 sacks for the Ravens. Licht was on top of his GM game again. Proved me wrong. Although we could use him now for depth

You Joes continue to give this JTS too much credit. His play last week was better but not great.
I think if he can put up some great play for a few games… then he can talk all he wants… BTW same for you D White!
I predict that they will run Chubb right at Mr JTS. Time to put up or shut up JTS!

I like JTS as a person. I like his athleticism. I just don’t think he is best suited for the position he plays. He is built more along the lines of a basketball power forward. And he may grow into the position he plays now. But just not an immediate fit.

Joe Nottryin-NoShowinka. He looks small, has no rush moves other than speed and quits on plays. This kid hasn’t developed physically, mentally or at a skill level.
Maybe the light comes on next year but he’s not improving at a noticeable rate.

I agree, JTS is just full of speed. JTS weighs 268 n is passive n soft. I’ll give him till next year to see if he develops into the player that we thought he’d be. We need power n strength, a true grit type player. You look at the power n determination players such as TJ Watts, Micah Parson, n Demario Davis bring to the table. They all are under 255 pounds but is aggressive with power n desire. Those are the type of players we need to draft, ones that will tear ur head off, so to speak.

Kid is fast and athletic, came out early (20 y/o) and played behind 2 studs
He needs another year to physically reach his peak – he is learning still also
Think he is going to be a 8-10 sack guy for several years

The outside linebackers have their own room? Why can’t they just share the same room as the inside LBs?

JTS is a bust. 2nd year season with no improvement. He got shoved onto his ass when trying to get past a single team.
He’s just taking the Bucs money.
Jane has already went bust.
