Joe sure hopes the Bucs aren’t considering messing with the good mojo that is left guard Nick Leverett.
This is on Joe’s mind today because an un-named writer at Buccaneers.com com posted this morning that rookie left guard Luke Goedeke is on the practice field after about a four-week rest following a foot injury. Goedeke had started every game, struggled at times, and was replaced by Leverett after getting injured.
Through three starts, Leverett has looked better than Goedeke and hopefully he keeps his starting gig Sunday in Cleveland.
Also, per the team report, wide receiver Russell Gage is back practicing. He hasn’t played since Oct. 21, the Week 7 loss at Carolina. Gage, the Bucs’ big-money signing in the offseason, has 29 catches for 231 yards and a touchdown this season.
Gage, 26, has battled hamstring issues since early in training camp.
Today’s practice is sort of a bye week bonus. Bucs players have their regular day off tomorrow before returning to practice on Wednesday.

It would be so Bowelswich to put Nick back on the bench and give Goedonkey his spot at Left Sieve back. They might reference the JaMiss Winston “policy statement” where a starter should not lose their job due to injury.
Looking at performance, it’s simple.

Great to hear we’ve got guys coming back with so many others teams around the league getting a lot of bad news in regards to injuries. Also encouraging to hear Logan Ryan was on-site working out today ahead of being cleared from IR. Every chance to put in work matters.

Russell Gage was brought in, in large part I believe, because he had been a pretty consistent and HEALTHY while in Atlanta. He’s had some bad luck so far, but I hope he closes the season strong because you know Julio is going to get hurt again. Gage is a quality player when healthy, and if you had him, hopefully Godwin finally getting close to 100%, perhaps a somewhat healthy Julio here and there, if all that happened, the team would be dangerous going into the playoffs.
Or so you’d think, then you’d remember Leftwich is the OC, and all hope would once again be lost.

Having both Jones and Gage fully healthy can only enhance the Brady factor. Very good news. These are super WSs.

Bucs forced Gage to play the number two and slot with a bad hamstring since camp. The guy is legit if he can stay healthy and can be another dangerous WR other defenses will have to keep their eye on…We shall see.

Hamstrings linger like the stench of red tide. Let’s hope Gage isn’t masking his injury trying to get back on the field. This team has played way too many guys at half speed this year (Gage, Jones, Fournette). Always better to play an eager pro with fresh legs over the wounded vet looking to justify a contract. Don’t be fooled Bowles!

I suppose you are happy with Leftwurst and hope Goedonkey gets the start against the Browns. That would be consistent with your take on Brady, Mr. Football Expert.

Are u guys idiots? All of these guys are needed. What happens if guys get injured? Getting everyone back at the right time. Starters are mostly back and getting depth back. Need Logan Ryan back next. Teams are going to go after SMB.

Gage is a great wr when healthy. Having Evan’s (needed the rest) Godwin, Jones & Gage together is a fantastic receiving core. I don’t know of any team that has four solid wr’s. Healthy? Different story. This frees up Brate & Otton to. I like Bucs chances if the killers B’s don’t screw it up.

Gage is a crucial piece to the WR corps rotation……he gives us a top 4 receiver set……let’s hope he’s 100%.
Things are really looking up on the injury front….

Gage played like a stud on one leg when everyone else was on a stretcher and he and Brady almost brought the Bucs back to a tie with the Pathetic Packers.
Gage can play and I’d love to see him 100%.
Imagining all four of Mikey, Chris, Julio and Gage at 100% is something that had us licking our chops before the season, and it’s something we’ve yet to see.
Let Tom call the plays with those four out there in a hurry up package and lookout cookout.

There’s run up the gut on 1st down, run up the left gut on 1st down, and sometimes when feeling super creative, Boron will get crazy and run up the right gut on 1st down.

Mike dropped a wide open perfect bomb from TB in the first Panthies game.
I doubt he drops the next one. Browns will expect the Seahags treatment, and while we should definitely try to pound their weak inside underbelly, they will be ripe for the skewering with some early down deep play action on the first drive.

That old LG should stay seated next to Rudolph and Gabert. If we see any of them playing significant time, the season is already over. Actually, can we forget they are on the team? I’m getting nauseous.

Keep Luke G on the bench as insurance and play Gage who hopefully won’t jump to catch balls that should be TD throws. Evans, Godwin, Jones, Gage with Otton will be dangerous for defenses to deal w/. The key with Gage coming into the season was his history of being able to create separation. If he’s matched against 3rd/4th CBs consistently, should help TB12 a lot.
4WRs 1RB w/ TB12 in the gun would be lethal!

In his 4 yrs with Dixie chix Gage had a little over 2,000 yrds receiving -or about 500 yrds / season . And scored 9 TD’s or 2/season ..
If he gets separation which helps Brady –great.. But i think we overpaid for Gage who has not been to shake hamstring issue(s) since august.-3 months ago.
