Are Bucs coaches fearful of Tom Brady, and hesitant and scared when it comes to coaching him?
The guy who general manager Jason Licht replaced seems to thinks so.
It was a damning take on SiriusXM NFL Radio by Mark Dominik.
Dominik watched the Bucs run five times Thursday on their first drive and score a touchdowns to take a 7-0 lead on the Ravens, and then run twice on their next drive that resulted in a field goal. Tampa Bay ran just six more times all game despite the score being tight.
It’s a losing formula, Dominik said, and one that cost them dearly against the Ravens.
“They’re scared to not give Tom the ball and I think that’s a real problem,” Dominik said, adding that no respect or threat of the run is bad for the offense. “I was blown away by how the run just disappeared.”
Dominik suggested the Bucs scripted the opening drive and then said, ‘the heck with it.’
The Packers and Aaron Rodgers are having a similar problem, he said, but in Tampa, Dominik isn’t sure Brady is being coached up.
“The other thing I don’t see. It seemed like Tom Brady is being coached more by his Microsoft [Tablet] that it was anybody else,” Dominik said. “… Look at the iPad figure it out, and get back out there and play football. So that’s a big concern I have also. Who’s over there kicking him on the tail? You know, when he needs a little kick in the tail. Or who’s saying, ‘Hey, look, we need to balance this out a little bit more, Tom. You’re not going to throw the ball as much next series.’ And I don’t want to put that all on Byron Leftwich. I just don’t know.”
Joe will have an interesting and eyebrow-raising report on this subject later this week.
For now, Dominik’s take is thought-provoking. And remember, Dominik is a big Bucs fan and is not a basher of the team. He’s also got guys he hired still in prominent roles at One Buc Palace.

That run stat is all you need to know where to place the blame. EVERY team that abandons the run early loses. This isn’t Tecmo Bowl – you have to pound and set things up, and at least run clock to GIVE YOUR DEFENSE A BREATH.
Which leads to the other massively lopsided stat: Time of possession and offensive plays. The D played 2x more than Baltimore’s, on a short week… of course those guys were gassed in the third quarter. Offense has got to its job and it’s killing us.

Ravens rushing for 231 yards may have had something to do with that. (we are now allowing 132 rushing yards per game) We simply can’t run the ball, ESP if the other team is expecting it. Both those things kills out time of possession

Brady has always valued input from coaches, he doesn’t always agree with them but 99% of the time they are on the same page. I posted this earlier, he used to sit hand and hand reviewing plays every time D was on the field. You don’t see that with the Bucs, it looks more like he consults with Gabbert more than BL. It is hard to believe BL has anything to offer and Brady could care less if they run 100 times as long as they win. Poor coaching can tank a team faster than anything. Example Bucs 2022!!!

Someone should be talking to him on the sideline at least. I may be mistaken but I never see our QB coach talking with him on game days. Not saying the QB coach can teach him but he can certainly share his thoughts with him etc.

Probably the only one honestly capable of coaching him and not afraid to jump his ass is Arians. But the Bucs also need a different offensive coordinator. Seems like the perfect fit for Arians. But I doubt the Bucs or even Arians would probably pull that trigger. First it wouldn’t be a good look for Bowles. Second, Leftwhich may never get another OC job. Third, Arians said many times Leftwhich and Bowles for that matter would be great head coaches. Arians would be tacitly admitting he himself was wrong. So unless the Glazers step in and order it then it won’t happen.

Raiders are not good guys. They may raid your home and take everything you have and who knows what these home invasions will cause. The media will try to excfuse these horrible pagans but in the end they are bad boys.
Saints on the other hand are the good guys. They try to do the right thing and help their fellow humans. These Saints even have the help of the NOLA VooDoo scene. The horrible Raiders have no chance.

BA won’t come back. We Bucs fans are living in the past. It is more likely than not that Bucs will reach bye week at 3-7. There’s no coming back from that. It’s a total bummer but I will painfully watch until the end.

O line can’t protect for run or pass. Leftwich play calling is horrific.

Is Mark on the sideline? He has no idea what conversations are being held outside of what the cameras are showing on the broadcast. It’s why the media can always put this framing out of Brady being out of control on the sidelines. There are plenty of conversations occurring between players that aren’t caught on camera. Brady also likes to be coached hard. It’s well known. He’s not some precious snowflake. BA is still involved in practice. I’ve seen him and Tom interact many times at the training camp practice I attended.
Mark seems to be in the mold of the old school line of thinking. There are plenty of analysts saying Brady isn’t throwing it enough earlier in that game until we don’t have a choice. Say what you will about Brady, but he’s always been “coachable.” Maybe it’s Leftwich?

Brady’s immobility is his only negative, but a significant one- puts alot more pressure on receivers to get open and OLine when the D doesn’t have to worry about QB scrambling.

No next year we have to move on from Brady he will be 46 and we have to move into the future. I’m tired of hearing all these excuses for Brady and how it’s every one else fault why he’s playing bad . Brady needs a all star team around him now days and that’s a fact. Some of yall still trying to hold on to a guy that is washed up and needs a perfect team around him to play average or above average. It’s over and right now it’s not a total rebuild and that’s good for a rookie or Trask to come in start. This is just unfounded speculation, insinuating that Brady is above coaching. Patently false. He has, and will always work with coaches and coordinators, even if he doesn’t agree with them. In fact, he loves it when there is a great brain trust to work with and for. Or else he would not have the career that he’s had.
The crappy play calling you are seeing now is not Brady. He’s doing what he’s told. And not liking it. He might try to change things, and express his frustrations off the field, but he is not the freelancing wild card that other players, including other members of the Bucs, may be.

Was it Leftwich who took a two week vacation during training camp? Is it Leftwhich who called out from practice and travel to a game with the team to attend another team owners wedding? Is it Leftwich whose personal life issues have become public, Was it Leftwhich who tried his best to force his way to Miami with a back door deal disguised as retirement? Finally which Coach is so afraid of being hit he is throwing balls in the dirt, rushing throws and refusing to scramble? C2 . Agree 💯 percent bro every time Brady throws the ball to the dirt it’s the coaches fault according to the fans on this site . It’s the coaches fault when the offense ain’t playing good regardless what play is being called . This is Brady’s offensive plays that made him the quarterback he is today . But now time has caught up with him and teams has figured him out crossing routes and dump off passes to the running backs and screen passes and running the ball up the middle that’s the whole offense. Time to move on from Brady after this year . I rather have Trask starting this season.
