Anyone who thinks Goedeke not being in there had anything to do with the drive, they literally have no idea what they’re watching. To be clear, I don’t care if Goedeke is in there or not, just play whoever is best, but that drive worked because early they ran on 2nd down in a pass situation – and then passed in another obvious run situation. For the rest of the drive, the Ravens had no idea what was coming, and they weren’t sitting on the play, and that included at the goalline.
Hopefully Leverett is great, a future all-pro that we got for free, but he literally had nothing to do with the success of that drive, zero.

Watching this Prime Vision, where you can see the entire field, they had guys open, but on the far side, and with the pressure he couldn’t see them. GREAT defensive game calling so far. Been all zone except for two obvious run situations where the Bucs called a run blitz. Really impressive defensive game calling so far.

Run up the middle on 1st down is fine so long as you’re mixing it up, and they’re not just sitting on the run. All I’ve ever called for is just mix it up, don’t run in obvious run situations, although, if the defense is off balance, you can still run once in a while, even if it’s a wasted down.

Bucs were moving it, then for whatever dumb reason, Leftwich went from having guys wide and spreading out the field, to having everyone clustered more towards the middle, you can really see it on the wide view broadcast. On 2nd and 3rd down, Brady had no one open at all.
Spread guys back out, that seems to be really causing issues with the Ravens.

So last two plays are on Brady. He had Evans, needed to lead him a bit, like an extra 3 feet and he’s got a huge play. Then on the next play, he again had Evans, but got rid of the ball too fast and just took the 1st read, when Evans was open had he just held it for an extra half second.

Brady absolutely had two WRs to choose from on that play, and he clearly saw them, but then pulled the ball down halfway through the throw. There was a defender out there, but either the deep ball or short ball would have avoided him – I think he flashed in his vision which is why he pulled it.
I mean we are playing with a lead, so maybe he’s being safe, but that’s a bit too safe.

The defense had an amazing first half – considering the guys we’re missing, and the only points given up were after that idiot Delany caused a turnover on the punt return, it was great.
#27 and #22 are real problems however. #27 can’t cover, gets turned around on like every play, then #22 is just way too slow, every single crossing route, if it’s man, he can not keep up.
On offense, that last drive is a killer because Brady had 2 options on that 3rd down, deep, probably puts the Bucs in FG range, and he instead ate the ball. I still don’t get what he thinks he saw there.
But we’re up 10-3, get the ball to open the first half.
Brady has to be a bit less conservative, but I don’t think Brady gives two s–ts about stats right now, he just wants the win, and the defense has been dominant.

That pass to Evans, Brady under threw it slightly, and it literally hit the defenders arm before it hits Evans in the chest – not to mention the defender literally being in the line of sight for the ball. If Brady lead him more, he had him open, but also Brady was forced to move out of the pocket and threw without setting his feet. It says nothing about Brady or Evans, just a low percentage play, when you account for both Brady and Evans, that wasn’t completed.

Brady had Jones late on the play, but by the time he got open, was already under heavy pressure. No one else was open on that play.
That drive died because of the garbage 2nd down WR screen, even if Evans catches it, it’s for no gain. Just way overused.

On offense, the only issue with Brady, I think, is that he’s bailing on a lot of plays too fast. I get that they’re not great plays, but he really really really doesn’t look like he wants to get hit. I get it, but he needs to hang onto the ball just a half second longer on some of these. Other plays he’s had no one open, mostly vs zone defenses, and that’s generally because of bad offensive playcalling.

Brady was able to turn the mentality with Gronk, JPP, Suh and some others for a while but the old Bucs are back. I thought we would have a one year reprieve when Brady came back but it’s begun. Almost forgot how horrible it was being a Bucs fan from 08-2019.

We had Evans, Godwin and OTTON all running deep, and Miller crossing. Again, OTTON is running deep, and your speed guy is running a crossing route.
Not idea what the mix up was, not sure if Evans was supposed to do something different there, but the play, as called was stupid as hell, regardless.

Not sure why so many are surprised Brady looks horrible. There are now eight or nine in completions that are all his fault because of a bad throw.
He barely had a training camp and left for a week and a half, doesn’t practice most the time during the week, took off for a wedding, going through a highly public divorce… I am grateful he came here and got us the Super Bowl but he is not all in this year. It has become clear he didn’t want to come back and now he is completely distracted and looks below average.

Situational football Munch, onside kick recoveries are one of the hardest plays to make in football at any level. Sure big risk big gain, but it’s basically gift wrapping good field possession with our D straight up gassed.
