Head coach Todd Bowles
Joe is typing this after three quarters of the Bucs-Panthers game, and it doesn’t matter what the final score is today.
Head coach Todd Bowles has one primary job among his many responsibilities. And that’s getting his players prepared to play smart and hard from the start of a game — and hopefully all the way through the fourth quarter.
Bowles has failed over and over and over at this task. There are simply no excuses.
Bowles has said he likes his team’s energy in practice and that his locker room has strong leadership. Perhaps he doesn’t know what he’s watching?
That sounds harsh, but what else can Bucs fans conclude after seeing the team come out sloppy and flat in back-to-back weeks against two of the worst teams in football?
It wasn’t long ago that Joe and fellow fans heard Bowles say the team may be playing better on the road because of all the bonding and focus on a road trip versus a home game. Well, these last two deuces the Bucs dropped were in Pittsburgh and at Carolina.
Joe could point fingers at Tom Brady, Lavonte David, Devin White, Mike Evans and other team leaders for the sluggish play and the clear lack of fire on the field. Obviously, their messages aren’t resonating, but ultimately it’s on the head coach.
Right now, Bowles looks overmatched guiding a talented roster that needs a touch Bowles doesn’t seem to have.
Perhaps Bowles will improve as time goes on, but this was not supposed to happen after he earned his bachelor’s degree in bad head coaching during his four-year stint with the Jets.
Bowles was supposed to be ready to hit the ground running, a plug-and-play replacement for Bucco Bruce Arians. Instead, Bowles looks like a very average swimmer treading water.

Just watched the {anthers score TD #3 with only 10 minutes left. Bucs aren’t coming back in this one; they’re toast. So now officially the offense has crapped the bed AND the defense has also crapped the bed. S/Ts crapped the bed a long time ago.
This is NOT a talented roster Joe. This is an overpriced, underperforming roster. Too many OLD used-to-be’s who should’ve retired years ago are hanging on collecting their last big payday before riding off into the sunset. And now that so many of them are hurting, we’re having to play youngsters who aren’t in any way ready to perform at the big boy level. This team is screwed for years to come. No wonder BA stepped aside; he saw the writing on the wall.

IMO….our best bet is try to trade Brady to San Fran and get something for the future, let Bowles and Leftwich flame out. Set the team up for the next hire because Brady isn’t coming back to this. It’s a bold move but necessary, we’re 3-4 with a loaded roster and losing to terrible teams, it’s blatantly obvious this coaching staff is clueless, particularly Leftwich.

Clearly Arians was much involved in everything from playcalling to just weekly football operations. The Bucs have spent too much and fixed contracts to where those cans are kicked down the road. Look at the sidelines. Mins after second half started it already looked like team gave up. That is coaching, bucs lost to panthers and back up quarterback and without Christian and etc. Bowles should be demoted back to DC tomorrow. He is a good DC and maybe could be a good hc with time and experience. But bucs are win now and super bowl or busy. With the Bucs last year with Tom Brady. Anything less than a SB win is unacceptable considering how much the team invested into this season. My plead to the Jason and Glazers family is demote Bowles tomorrow and Bring back BA for rest of season. Alot feelings will be hurt. But screw that, this our last chance with Brady and to get another SB for probably 10 plus yeara. Glazers please put feelings aside and do what is necessary to get this team on track. Bring back Arians please, please, please!!

Another week of playing high school football,against a team held together with rubber bands. There are no further excuses. It’s on all the coaches, not just Bowles andLefty. The only area of ANY improvement was on Special Teams. EVERY other coach failed to have their guys ready to play. Excuses are done. Fire them all.

I’m not sure we have talent. On paper it is talent, but on the field it isn’t. Talent doesn’t drop a wide open TD pass or mis-tackle running backs coming through a gap or have false start or holding penalties on key drives. We have “has been” talent. They were once talented, but not anymore.

This is obviously a total team, coaches, and owner effort to get Tom Brady to resign. No one on this team is this bad a football player. Only guy going full speed out there is Tom Brady. There is only one other explananation.

We are at the center of a perfect storm and I’m not talking about Ian!
How often does ME13 drop an easy TD pass? How often does DWhite go braindead and shove a QB to the ground long after the ball is gone?
How many more times must we watch the inability to pick up a single yard on 3rd or 4th before we let Brady just dive for the yard?
We play in a horrible division so the season is far from over. Perhaps if we get healthy we can make a second half run and peak for the playoffs. Not likely we’ll ever have a totally healthy defensive backfield…we have porcelin China dolls back there. How many games has SMB missed? Carlton Davis? Jamel Dean. Our best DB’s sadly are also among our most fragile players.

You guys are out of your minds. BA retired. He will NOT come back to coaching. He has said this many times and is happy where he is. BA WILL NOT BE THE BUCS COACH. Get it through your heads and think of something else to cure this debacle.

Do you even read the comments? Nobody is doubting the talent of this team. They are blaming it on coaching, and rightfully so, I must say! However the players need to get their heads out their rears, we all know that.

It starts with the HC, why was Todd Bowels hired as the Bucs HC?
It could not have been his success as a HC previously because he was awful.

Bucs have been the NFL’s worst team last 10 Qtrs.Team Glazer can’t do anything on a short week.Assuming the trend continues & the Bucs are 3-5 after Ravens TNF game,Bucs will have an interim coach Friday. Bucs can be no worse than 1 gm out of 1st. Save the Season!

Brady got Arians fired. Leftwich can’t call a game without Arians. That was proven in AZ and it’s obvious now. Bowels proved he’s a DC not a head coach. F*** Brady, bring back BA. Brady doesn’t like it, show him the door.

Frankly, Joe, using a DC as the new plug-and-play HC has taken one of the NFL’s most explosive offenses over the past couple of years and turned it into an embarrassment, the ship has run into a sandbar and the HC hasn’t a clue how to navigate a stale offense and a bored and boring defense well enough to fix it!
Worse, the OC who unfortunately is still the OC, lost his training wheels when BA stepped back and has yet to learn how to ride this offensive juggernaut of a team over the sandbar to victory yet.

if trading brady is the way you want to go, now that brady is getting divorced and s.f. has a more realistic view of both of their qbs, s.f. is much more realistic option for trade and probably more in return. oh and brady will be in his 11 th super bowl there as well.
brady has won in tampa despite b.l. not because of him. and bowles is the single reason we don’t have trophies for the last 2 seasons.

What I’m amazed at along with other issues is why Brady didn’t audible with a stacked box. Fake the handoff and hit the TE. If not throw it away and go for it on 4th. No difference. No creativity too much of the same calls. And Brady is not taking control.

Todd Bowles looks like he could care less about winning let alone coaching. I dont see a fire or passion in him to WANT to win so how could you expect your team to? Literally EMOTIONLESS. At least we could see Bruce Arians gave a crap. I also feel like our offensive line is just killing us. Brady cant throw the ball while being thrown to the ground. Fournette cant run the ball if no one is blocking. Like seriously, I love my boys but for the love of God, GET. IT. TOGETHER.
