So are the Bucs changing things how they practice? You be the judge.
Yesterday Bucs coach Todd Bowles was asked how former Stinking Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey getting traded to San Francisco changes the Bucs’ prep work for tomorrow’s game in Charlotte.
Bowles said the team is basically taking the tactic that CMC got hurt and won’t be available. However, Bowles noted his team is turning its focus inward on how it can improve.
“The leadership was great, the effort has been outstanding all week, it’s just got to carry over to Sunday,” Bowles said. “We understand we lost a game but we’re still tied for first place, it’s early in the process.
“We’re going to work out some kinks and I thought we did a lot of good things this week. We’ve just got to carry it over.”
Well, here is what Bowles didn’t say: The Bucs could have the best week of practice, everyone dialed in, good attitudes, good effort, and if the offensive coordinator has a moronic gameplan, it won’t matter.
That game plan last week on offense Pearl Harbored just about any chance the Bucs had to beat the lowly Steelers.

I will believe it when I see it. I sure hope they got their stuff together. I hope Byron looked in the mirror and realized what he’s been doing isn’t working. No risk it, no biscuit.

I still have confidence in Todd Bowles, and especially as our DC. If this team is to make the playoffs & go anywhere once it does, it’ll be because our defense kicked ass. I do believe that our offense will gradually improve, but I admittedly have very little confidence in Byron Leftwich (wish you’d polled everyone on him Joe).
Still, don’t see BL getting fired before the season ends. I do however believe that Brady will take a more active role in game planning & scheming, as well as ‘adjusting play calls at the line’. And I’m still hoping that BA starts taking a more active role in game planning, even if it’s behind the view of the media onlookers (which may be happening now for all we know).
Our biggest improvements though will come when (1) Ryan Jensen returns; (2) Akiem Hicks returns; and (3) as our youngsters get more experience game-to-game. This coaching staff has shown itself to be quite good at teaching IMO, but things still don’t change overnight.
It would be nice however if Licht would add Suh back into our DLine, as well as a quality TE (I don’t have a lot of faith that Cam Brate will return). Not holding my breath for either to happen however.

The Panthers will be no problem at all. It is the Ravens we have to watch out for.
I am still trying to figure of if it was Brady who caused Arians to step down, or if Arians took it upon himself to leave us ?
I guess the truth will come out someday.

No 3 and out on our opening drive would be nice ! There was a poll in the UK asking what would last longer…the Prime Minister who was self destructing or a head of lettuce…the lettuce won. How about a poll asking if the Bucs offence tanks again this week, who will last longer…BL or the lettuce ?

Ummm BOWLES is the head coach if HIS OC is not doing a good job and Bowles doesn’t change anything HOW do you have confidence in Bowles???
If you see a problem from the Couch But the HC on the Sideline doesn’t how can you be confident in the HC???

While I agree the game plan and schemes left a lot to be desired that is as much on TB12 as BL. It’s a joint plan and I refuse to believe the GOAT doesn’t have complete veto power. Perhaps it’s the game plan that is keeping our receivers from getting open but Brady frequently has forever back there, the protection is not ALWAYS weak, and even when he has tons of time, he looks and looks and can’t seem to find anyone open.
And again…why does Brady now always turn to hand off on 3rd or especially 4th and short when he used to be the master of simply diving for the yard? That has cost us bigtime more than once.

Joe good for you for calling BL out over his putrid game plans every week. He’s shown he has no clue how to adapt to the different personnel we have now. It’s embarrassing and it’s costing us valuable wins. And that press conference he had was utterly despicable. I’m starting not to like him which is new. He offered up nothing but cliches when asked specific questions. He just refused to answer anything. If this offense struggles against the lowely Panthers all hell is gonna break loose.

the panthers have 2 good D-Line players -. A lot of teams( eagles ,, chiefs , cowboys ) have approached Panthers to trade for burns and brown .. could be anothr frustrating game for Brady.

stpete@ or oneilsuckyall, Bowles made it VERY clear when asked if Brady would run the O that it’s BL’s offense NOT Brady’s. It appears Bowels differs from BA. When is the last time Brady barked at BL? Bowels put a stop to it. The issues start at the head.

DefenseRules, perhaps, but I do not have confidence in Bowles as a head coach or tone setter for the team as a whole. The listlessness we’ve seen so far is that. As a DC, I am also leery. We would not be looking back at a haunting loss to the Rams if not for Bowles’ wrongheadedness.
I also do not have confidence in the youngsters becoming consistent stars this season. It is too soon. JTS and Hainsey in their second season, and neither is reliable. Finally I have no confidence in Hicks staying healthy. Or Rudolph living up to the modest expectations that came with his deal.
A lot needs to happen to make me think this season is going to get to the p-p-playoffs. Jensen coming back 100%, plus (I wish) non in-house moves to bolster the OL, DL and edge pass rush, and probably TE.

Roc say; you nailed it!!!!!!!!!! this is week 7 and Bowles has the same look as he did in week 1. Instead of being a coach and being fired up, he looks like he’s thinking about the last episode of Sponge Bob Dumb Pants. He reminds me of a politician a few yrs ago. at the end of his first 4 yrs of doing nothing, he said “these things take time” Then at the end of his 2nd4 years he said”these things take time”. AGAIN, this is week 7 and you’re saying “we’ve got to work out some bugs” Well, the “Bugs” have invaded the Tampa Bucs. I said it once and i’ll say it again, “there is NO WAY Tom plays another season in Tampa” with all that talent you let Southern New Hampshure University beat us!!!!!!!!!!!!
