For those who holler about the Bucs’ offensive line and stomp their feet thinking it’s killing the team, it’s time to mindmeld with Peter King.

Unless Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht goes out and gets fresh blood to play on the offensive line, King says he would not be shocked if the Bucs have a losing season.
Apparently, King unimpressed by youngsters Robert Hainsey and Luke Goedeke, both of which will be making their seventh NFL starts tomorrow.
King hopped on his weekly appearance with the one and only Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, heard exclusively on SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio, this week and proclaimed the Bucs to be a sinking ship due to the offensive line.
Russo asked King if he thought the Bucs can bounce back from a horrific loss to the Steelers last Sunday. (It was such a nightmarish display that if at some time in the future, you learned the offensive gameplan was hatched to throw the game, would you be surprised?)
“Can the Bucs rebound?” King asked. “I think a lot of it has to do with the offensive line. That is the biggest problem they have.
“Now there some indication that they can get Ryan Jensen back, who is incredibly valuable. Probably the single biggest player on that line for [Tom] Brady. And obviously, he has been out since early in training camp.
“If he comes back that is a giant for that team.”
King sees the Bucs as a barely .500 team with their current line, and he says they may backdoor into the playoffs. But King would not be shocked if the Bucs end up with a losing record at 8-9.
If the Bucs have a losing record with a healthy Brady, well, that won’t go over very well with the family that cuts the checks at One Buc Palace. At all.
“It is weird,” King told Russo. “Nobody is good enough to win that division. So a team like Atlanta could sneak into it.”
The Bucs have struggled to run the ball, and the pressure continues to get to Brady 😬

I kind of agree. Ryan Jensen gave our Line a swagger I just have not seen yet with the replacements.
I sure hope he comes back real soon.

Why would anyone be surprised that teams or coaches create game plans based on what the Wise Guys tell them to do OR ELSE.
Raise your hand if you have seen The Last Boy Scout? Would you really be surprised to see a player off himself in front of his coaches, teammates and fans?

It’s not just the offense. The D not stopping the Steelers certainly didn’t help. And All the blame going to Goedecke and Hainsey is wrong. Rookies and first time starters I can understand and expect to struggle including JTS. But our problems are with the Big Money players, Gage, Julio, Hicks, Rudolph. All busts. Add under performing “stars” Brady, Vea, Barrett, Mason, LVD and D White and throw in BL. That’s where the focus needs to be.

It is somewhat of a weak spot, but it is NOT the massive problem some make it out to be. We have 3 new starters on the Oline, 2 of which are basically rookies, but talented rooks. Yes, Goeke is getting his azz handed to him on occasion, but he will get there. Cincinnati made it to the SB with the NFL’s weakest Oline last year. The Bucs are NOT close to being that bad, so spare me this BS. There are all kinds of things to point to; Oline can’t create holes for running game, a void of talent at TE, injuries, etc.
But the Bucs have 2 very good OTs in Wirfs and Smith and Mason makes a damn good RG (personally I think Hainsley is going a good job). Then we have Evans, Godwin and Gage plus Lombardi Lenny then throw in the GOAT. So, why are the Bucs in the bottom half of the league in 3rd down conversion and scoring? hmmmmm

So if the O line is the biggest problem, then why do we keep trying to use it in a running game like it’s one of our big strengths? It’s like having a sprained ankle and then when you walk around you put your weight on the sprained leg instead of the good one. Total points for the game is at 38.5. “Stubborn and dumb.” Take the under.

San Francisco just got the “James White” type running back Brady likes to go with Samuel and Kittles….and an innovative offensive mind….and lights out defense. I think Brady makes a move to San Francisco next yr and that’s where he’ll finish.

No way can Peter King be right. We’ve been told repeatedly from Leftwich, Bowles, and insipid former players that our eyes are deceiving us, that this O Line is fine and dandy.
The interior of the line is porous and the “pourest” is Goedeke followed by Hainsey.

10-7 would be a terrible record and, to most fans, unacceptable. Anything less has to launch a housecleaning of the coaching staff and the old, tired vets – that will include Brady because he’s not staying for a rebuild.

If anyone says anything other than exactly this, you are delusional. The only reason it doesn’t look worse is Tom Brady. If there is any other QB in there. Say Pat Mahomes who likes to run around and extend the play, he would have 30 sacks by now. The combination of the C, LG, and LT is horrible. The coach said it, Brady is indirectly saying it, the media can see it and other teams are seeing it. That’s why Pittsburgh only rushed 4. I bet caroline does the same. Stop babying these guys. Sit one of them down before Brady gets hurt. Like the lady said, we are beating our head against the wall, cutting our face to spite our nose. It’s clear as day.

Nothing really wrong with the Buccaneers’ defense.
They’re just “quirky” as they have been since the 2020 Super Bowl year.
Like football-skill-geniuses with their odd idiosyncrasies (e.g., a tendency to disappear in the third quarter) they’ll be there to impress when they feel like it; who supported all those fourth quarter, unanswered, Brady comeback-win-points in the last two years?
Look at the Dallas Cowboys record so far. But who beat them so far? How many other teams are 3-3?
3 & 3 isn’t too bad considering
Julio Jones’ injury-problems in the previous two years were solely hamstring problems. Not now. Now it’s the knee, and that’s just temporary bad luck, not a bad signing to be discouraged about: Evans, Godwin & Jones (Rachaad White on third down- he has about seven 1st downs this year; on limited targets). That receiver lineup looks good to me.
Is there a TE on the team who can just block, or be coached into being a good blocker to make-up a little for Gronk? That might go a long way in turning the offense around (plus Jensen in November).

Also it’s killing Mike’s numbers. Mike is a deep threat deep in deep out guy. Not a quick 3rd down receiver like ike Hilliard was. Godwin to a lesser extent is like Mike but is better getting open on underneath routes. But Tom has to read and get rid of the ball faster than he would like, which leads to balls in the dirt. Go back and watch the last few games, it’s clear as day.

Licht could have signed Tretter the week after Jensen went down and he FAILED to act. Inaction is the biggest failure in professional managers of any business according to business weekly. Jason Licht has utterly FAILED to act when he should have seen the warning light flashing long ago. Not saying Bucs will ultimately FAIL this season , but if they do , the LIONS share of the BLAME goes to Jason Licht due to having workarounds available and not having the necessary vision to fix the problems that are so glaringly obvious.

I agree with several others here. To blame it all on the offensive line is wrong. Why couldn’t our defense come up with a stop against the Steelers when we needed it. With 4:00 minutes to go the Steelers get the ball and we never see it again. The defense has to play better and so does our not so Special Teams. Why is Darden still out there on punt returns trying to find a safe spot to fall down or run out of bounds. Are the Bucs actually seeing what we see on TV?

You must have missed the clips of Brady’s pep talk to the O line on the bench then.
Brady hasn’t forgotten how to play football or lead an offense.
Brady’s also the G.O.A.T. of: “getting-the-ball-away” at a career average of 2.3 seconds.
On average, it takes 2.6 seconds for an opposition- defense to “get-to” a quarterback (the pocket leaks/breaks-down).
The O line must have provided Brady with an average of 2.2 seconds in the Steelers’ game.

Not a fan of Peter Mediot King, but I agree with him this time. This does look like a .500 or worse team at the moment.
Jensen coming back 100% would help immensely, but would still leave OG a problem. Moving Hainsey over would be the obvious in-house preference, and I’m not a fan of Hainsey. LT is also an issue as long as D Smith isn’t healthy.
The defense is, if anything, the bigger problem. It was supposed to carry the team this season, and looks powder puff and confused. Worse as long as Logan Ryan is out.
