Sean Murphy-Bunting And Logan Ryan Will Miss Week 6
October 14th, 2022This conjures memories of what Bucs general manager Jason Licht described as a 2021 “nightmare.”
Today, Todd Bowles announced that versatile cornerback/safety Logan Ryan (foot) and cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting (quad) would miss Sunday’s Bucs-Steelers game because of their injuries.
Safety/nickel Mike Edwards is nursing an elbow injury that limited him in practice this week, and he will be “a game-time decision,” “Bowles said.” No. 1 corner Carlton Davis is on the injury report, just a little banged up with a hip issue.
It’s not the nightmare Licht referred to, turning to washed out (Joe’s adjective) guys like Richard Sherman and Pierre Desir, but the Bucs are starting to thin out in their talented and deep secondary.
The current injuries will hurt their ability to disguise coverages with a full stable of interchangeable parts on defense. Joe suspects Antoine Winfield and Edwards will share nickel duties Sunday with a lot of responsibility put on veteran injury-prone safety Keanu Neal to go the distance.
Thankfully, the Steelers offense has plenty of issues.

Dee Delaney still gives me nightmares.

Man this team cant catch a break. The Tampa Bay Street Clothes lose guys left and right all the time. The last 2 years, if they can find a way to get hurt they’ll do er. With all the sports science nowadays you’d think they could keep these guys a little healthier.

Should still handle the Steelers. Extra bye next week. Trask could beat the Panthers

Zyon McCollum time and getting more burn will come with some rookie mistakes, but I’m expecting the communication on the back end to help buffer against ZMac’s lack of experience and keep him dialed in when he’s on the grass.

We should sign Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Davis and John Wall. SMH
October 14th, 2022 at 2:52 pm
Have we got Brian Burns yet?
October 14th, 2022 at 2:52 pm
Even IF Edwards misses the game along with SMB & Ryan (and hopefully he doesn’t obviously), we’ve still got a pretty solid Secondary with Winfield & Neal at safety, plus Davis, Dean & McCollum at CB. And Delaney got some pretty decent experience last season, so I’d expect him to be better this year. Our problem will be exaggerated if we end up losing another safety because we’re only carrying 4.

My buddy is a die-hard Steelers fans and he said all the wheels will fall off if they lose another game at home!
Look I have seen a 35 lb wolverine chase a 600 lb Grizzly off of its kill.
Don’t take the Steelers lightly is all I can say. They are a Proud organization.

Well, it’s about time Bowles kicks his DL and LBs into play their best game. They are going into Heinz Field. That is a beautiful spot for a stadium cos it actually sits in a valley at the meeting point of 3 rivers. It will have plenty of fans there. I’ve been there for business years ago. I’ll have Bucs Radio on. GO BUCS!!

*into playing their best game. Typo alert.

Redeemer … ‘Trask could beat the Panthers’.
Panthers can play some nasty defense, and teams like that can put several of our guys on the sidelines for weeks with injuries. Maybe you didn’t notice, but it’s not like we have an overabundance of OLinemen, WRs & TEs to begin with. Can’t take ANY NFL team for granted nowadays.
October 14th, 2022 at 3:08 pm
Defense, my comment was in jest. Yes, Carolina has a couple nasty defenders.

I don’t take any team for granted. Do you remember that awful game against the WFT last year? We were one miracle comeback drive from losing to the Jets last year. Matter of fact, we had no business winning that game. I do not trust this team at all. This team has been too inconsistent the last two years. I don’t care what Leftwich says about trust. He knows the LG is a big problem.
I wouldn’t discount the Steelers. The atmosphere will be wild. They have an intense hatred for 12. We are a hunted team. Teams get up when they play us, regardless of their record. Beating us is some teams Super Bowl.
October 14th, 2022 at 3:26 pm
Steelers are missing their top three corners and Minkah Fitzpatrick. And of course their best player TJ Watt. No excuses.
October 14th, 2022 at 3:36 pm
It’s time for our Offense to step up and take a huge lead……take some pressure off the defense…..but I still like our secondary……..Most will depend on Edwards availability……
Dean, Davis, Edwards, Neal & AWJ…….that’s a pretty solid group.

Suh.

This could be an important game for the Lers
But fall apart with a lose??
Mike Tomlin is one of the best coaches in the league – that wont hapen
And we need to play our game and PLEASE dont lose another DB
October 14th, 2022 at 3:59 pm
SMB plays like 4 snaps and then he’s out injured? Jesus.
October 14th, 2022 at 4:05 pm
I like SB’s Wolverine metaphor. That is exactly the picture.
October 14th, 2022 at 4:51 pm
BURNS!
October 14th, 2022 at 5:08 pm
SMB = Glassman
October 14th, 2022 at 5:48 pm
SMB should be traded ASAP!
October 14th, 2022 at 7:05 pm
These guys need to toughen up man. Dont take any team lightly. Take away thier weapons exploit thier weaknesses. LFGO
October 14th, 2022 at 7:34 pm
SB
Yep. There’s a reason Tomlin has never had a losing season.
Rod Munch – I’m thinking the exact same thing, SMB’s plays to injuries ratio is nearly 1:1
October 14th, 2022 at 7:38 pm
I remember when we thought just losing Vita on 2020 was a nightmare
October 14th, 2022 at 8:14 pm
Why haven’t we cut this guy? He has to be the most fragile guy in the NFL. On top of that, not very impressive
October 15th, 2022 at 3:34 am
HERE WE GO AGAIN…
The massively injured secondary that we were plagued with all last year.
When are we ever gonna get a break?
October 15th, 2022 at 7:10 am
Pass rush makes all DB’s better-SO SIGN SUH NOW!!!!
October 15th, 2022 at 7:14 am
SMB stands for, Stays Mainly on the Bench!
October 15th, 2022 at 8:58 am
This tea is fragile, between WRs and DBs good lord.
