Reason to smile.
When Bucs running back Playoff Lenny was drafted by the Jags in 2017 he was largely known as a run-only running back, a non-factor in the passing game.
Since, Playoff Lenny has blown that perception up. After today, only the uneducated will ever suggest Playoff Lenny doesn’t catch passes.
In 2019, Playoff Lenny’s final season on the First Coast, Playoff Lenny caught 76 passes. In his second season with the Bucs, Playoff Lenny had 69 catches.
Today in the Bucs’ 21-15 win over Atlanta, Playoff Lenny alone had 10 catches for 83 yards.
So in the locker room after the game, Joe asked Playoff Lenny if the Bucs noticed something monitoring Dixie Chicks’ film that tipped the Bucs off that Playoff Lenny could be a passing weapon.
That’s exactly what happened.
“TB [Tom Brady] and Coach [Byron] Leftwich said their backers like to run off on play-action,” Playoff Lenny said. “And that is what happened.
“They got deep. We expected the catch total from the backs to be something like 15 or some catches. And that’s what happened.”
It was close to 15. Between Playoff Lenny and rookie Rachaad White, the two Bucs running backs totaled 13 catches.
Playoff Lenny made up his mind this offseason to become a better passing target. While some pushed a rumor that Playoff Lenny had turned into Ralphie May, Playoff Lenny said he was honing his skills as a receiver.
“I worked on it in the offseason, catching<” Playoff Lenny said. “For me as a player, I just want to get better and better each and every year.
“I decided I want to play football. Progressing, that’s what it is all about.”
At this rate catching double-digit passes in games, Playoff Lenny is going to turn into the second coming of Roger Craig.

Still need to run the ball more. Thought we had early success and then just abandoned it. Also liked the way White looked,even though he got only a few carries.

Lenny does everything well and I’m glad he’s getting some help from Rashaad White, who proved today that he may be a player. More than one game is required to determine that but, yeah.
Let Lenny’s leg rest all week while working him on cardio and Pilates. Farg the Steelers!

Daryl has a point sometimes Lenny runs like a bruiser and sometimes he doesn’t really needs to make his mind up on that and his vision can be pretty bad at times sometimes running right next to where the hole is instead of the middle of it really perplexing at times but a wins a win on to the next game.

Lenny said that Byron and Brady told the RBs that they needed 10-15 catches from them every game. It seems like they made a concerted effort to throw to the backs. I still think we didn’t give our receivers more opportunities.
