Glowing Internal Review Of Logan Hall

September 27th, 2022

Big No. 90, Bucs rookie defensive lineman Logan Hall.

Rookie defensive tackle Logan Hall is no backup running back. Head coach Todd Bowles had real love in his voice talking about Hall today.

Asked about Hall breaking through for his first career sack Sunday, a key fourth-quarter takedown of Aaron Rodgers, Bowles glowed about what Hall showed stepping in for a bigger role with Akiem Hicks out injured.

“Logan came into his own. He’s growing up, you know,” Bowles told the Buccaneers Radio Network. “We’re glad to see him get pressure on a quarterback and he did it several times. He just got the one sack but he got several pressures. He was very active in there and his confidence is growing, and we expect him to help us a great deal.”

Joe agrees that the film looks good on Hall, and Joe likes how Hall stayed healthy through training camp and is looking a little more powerful each week. That latter could be one part confidence.

It unlikely to happen much this season, but Joe would love to see Hall get more snaps off the edge, especially after an offseason of developing at that position.

For the draft lunatics who obsess about such trivia, Packers rookie defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt played just seven snaps against the Bucs and only 23 this season.

Just don’t injure the starting center in practice and we’re all extremely pleased with yet another great drafted player

  2. geno711 Says:

Hopefully a Calais Campbell type player that can play both inside and outside over his career. Maybe even a few blocked field goals!

  3. Redeemer Says:

Hall was pushed into Jensen EEK, stop with that. What’s done is done. He still has a ways to go before he can be a true anchor. I like what I see. Wasn’t sure he could play like he has with the extra weight.

  4. EEK Says:

Fair point and slightly contentious on my part – what’s wrong with stirring the pot a little bit?

I like that he’s playing hard and making things happen naturally

This team has some talent so him getting some run bodes well for winter football

  5. Goatfarmer Says:

Great from the rook. Unexpected. He is already outplaying JTS, although I do see JTS getting better. Not nearly good enough but better. Still…….

    S u h

  6. SOEbuc be Says:

Gives a second year JTS vibe, which is very impressive at the moment.

  7. BillyBucco Says:

    JTS is gonna get his.
Hasn’t really had any favorable matchups yet, but he will.

  8. Miller5252 Says:

All the older Bucs players with injury issues continue to have injury issues. Best ability is availability. I hope the kid is a monster down the stretch for the Super Bowl run. I think we need to stick with these young players and have the older vets sun in so they might stay healthy. JTS is doing better, but he’s not there yet. If we can trade for a top shelf DE….. all in Bucs!!

  9. Goatfarmer Says:

    Defensive depth looks great.

    Offense? Um…..no.

No backup QB if Brady gets maimed which is more possible every game.

The strength of the team was the WR group. Now it’s a thin shell waiting for the walking wounded to be healthy enough to run.

The tight ends are invisible, although Cam got some production Sunday.

    The OL is a joke.

The RBs are Lenny and a Todd Bowles scoff.

The OC is lost without his long time boss and mentor.

When the WR group does get healthy it won’t be for long, they’ll pull something again.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln loved the play.

You are never going to get anything but glowing praise from anyone inside the organization, up to and including when guys are due to be cut or traded. You are never going to hear a negative thought about any of the decisions made, about anything or anyone, from the roster to the coaching.

Hall, Hainsey, Goedeke, Otton, JTS, they are all works in progress, and no conclusions can be reached this ridiculously early, except exactly what you see: they’re raw, they make big mistakes, they make some plays, and all you can do is hope they make more good ones than game-losing bad ones. Overpraise and overconfidence are worse than skepticism, and them being held to the toughest standards.

Don’t annoint them. Hall is not Suh, Hainsey is not Jensen, Goedeke is not Marpet, Otton is not Gronk.

GotFarmer – white our rookie RB has been KR because he’s a better return man then Darden. They need to remove some guys from the roster who don’t deserve to be on the team. Scotty Miller and Darden are 2 names. Giovani Bernard went to IR. Need to look at 2 FA WRs still. At least 1 , then another 3rd down RB. Maybe start including Vaughn in more opportunities on offense if he’s not gonna get looks then he can be replaced also. Need guys to step up that aren’t.

  12. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Hall looked good….looks like we didn’t miss Hicks….

  13. Fansince76 Says:

Lets hope he keeps progressing, would be awesome to have a top tier DT next to VEA!
its looking like i was wrong on this guy, i did not see it
in his college tape but very glad to see him doing great!

  14. ThatAintRight! Says:

Also goat farmer , you don’t know what the backup QB Kyle Trask is capable of. He could be the guy. I mean sitting behind TB12 is only going to make him better. He’s never even started a single game yet. We don’t know what he’s capable of. You’re assuming he’s trash. I like what he’s capable of and like his chances to supersede tb12. At least for 1 season following Brady leaving. TEs are definitely a concern in the pass game. We still haven’t replaced Gronk or AB. That’s hurting us and white was supposed to replace Ronald jones and he’s not even gotten the opportunity. If he’s gonna be the kr we need a backup for Lenny. I get why they’re waiting but cmon we need a fully healthy roster and group of guys to come in and perform.

  15. Buczilla Says:

    Music to my ears.

  16. Eckwood Says:

This Cat can Play and he truly can Play great at different positions !! Very Impressed !!

  17. MadMax Says:

I wanted him….and yall saw the posts….I know it when I see it…..Mr Licht knows me too….surprised he lasted till top of the 2nd with a 1st rd grade. We got lucky. Just wait until he has a few years under his belt.

  18. Bucschamp Says:

This guy have a nasty spin move that puts any Oline out of balance. That sack was a huge defensive play

  19. Dooley Says:

On Logan Ryans’ pick it was Hall coming off the edge with Vita at NT in the a-gap & JTS on the other edge. Was cool to see Logan Hall get his first sack, but now he’s shown he can win and apply pressure, so let’s see it again.

  20. jarrett Says:

sky is the limit for #90 HALL

  21. Listnfrmafar Says:

Ditch Hicks play Senat and Hall.

    Suh!!!

  22. Esteban85 Says:

Hall is progressing nicely. I like the comparison to Wyatt there. Licht again makes a wise decision and picks up Otton who looks as though he could be a starter over the vet Rudolph. I wonder if they are missing Tyler Johnson right now. Scott Miller looks like the wrong choice imo

  23. David Says:

He has started to look very impressive. I’ve seen him bull rush and I have seen him split 2 blockers with swim moves and some real good quickness. I love it!

  24. David Says:

He also looks built to add more power as he matures the next couple years
