New Orleans In Play For Relocated Bucs-Chiefs Game
September 27th, 2022If Team Glazer approves this, then Joe will pronounce them idiots.
Most Bucs fans realize that the approaching Hurricane Beckles has disrupted the Bucs’ week of practice and could result in Sunday night’s home game being relocated.
Tampa weather should be just fine on Sunday night, but storm damage could make it nearly impossible to host the game — from power outages to stadium ruins to issues getting TV production crews in town for the broadcast, and more.
NBC News in New Orleans is reporting today that slimy Saints’ home, the Superdome, has made itself available to host the Bucs-Chiefs game. And they report that a decision should be made by Thursday afternoon.
That game cannot be played in New Orleans if fans are allowed in. Unacceptable.
When the NFL has relocated games, they’ve opened the stadium to local fans at the “neutral” site, at a highly discounted price. You know, so it looks good on TV. However, if the Bucs play the Chiefs in New Orleans, Joe is confident at least 15,000+ Saints fans would be in the house booing the Bucs and turning it into a true road game for Tampa Bay.
That would be fundamentally unfair. And don’t get Joe started on how it’s wrong for the Bucs to be forced to play a “home game” on turf versus their grass surface in Tampa.
Team Glazer has enough pull to get the game played somewhere other than New Orleans, if the relocation is necessary. Make it happen, Team Glazer, don’t act like this is the mountainous challenge of figuring out how to let the average Joe fan attend a Tampa training camp practice.

How about Titan Stadium?? shouldn’t the conditions (Grass, Open Air, Neutral Fans) cater to the team that’s supposed to be the “Home” team since they’re the ones being moved? I’m sure the fans in Tennessee would root for the Bucs over Conference Rival KC.
September 27th, 2022 at 4:01 pm
Why do I get the feeling the NFL is going to screw this, and therefore us up.
September 27th, 2022 at 4:08 pm
I don’t see why they can’t play the game in Miami. Makes sense, the Bucs are already in town, and not too far for those Buc fans not affected by the storm to travel.
September 27th, 2022 at 4:10 pm
Just chill out NFL. The hurricane is clearly going to hit well to the south of Tampa, no need to rush to make a decision. We will know soon enough if it’s going to be a legit issue for us or not.
September 27th, 2022 at 4:13 pm
Joe, I live in New Orleans. Pelicans season started yesterday. No one is coming out after an early morning of Jameis. The Aints fans have already moved on from the season.
September 27th, 2022 at 4:17 pm
Unless Tampa takes a direct hit you would think the game is played in Tampa
September 27th, 2022 at 4:17 pm
Not worried about the Saint’s fans……concerned with Bucs partying on Bourbon Street….
September 27th, 2022 at 4:24 pm
Absolutely not. Just stay in Miami.
September 27th, 2022 at 4:24 pm
They should move it to Gillette Stadium. The Pats play away this week and it lets their fans see Tommy again without it being against their team. Sort of gives us a home field still since you know their fans are going to root for us
September 27th, 2022 at 4:32 pm
Where are you predicting landfall Fancy Man?
September 27th, 2022 at 4:35 pm
Gillette 100%. Brady fans & NE fans also don’t like KC. Grass.
It’d be as close to a home game as you can get.
Plus tons of NE snow-birders haven’t yet matriculated to FL, so probably plenty up there would go to the game and cheer for the Bucs as well.
Suh-England.
September 27th, 2022 at 4:47 pm
The NFL: “Let’s either move their HOME game to the stadium of their biggest rival, or make them fly about as far north as possible. Brilliant!
Don’t worry, they already are playing another “home game” in Germany this season!”
September 27th, 2022 at 4:51 pm
Baloney. They must of put Bowles in charge of the incompetant weather service. It will be a lovely afternoon in Tampa after the storm hits Venice and fizzles out on the way to Daytona Beach. This has been just another government fiasco.
September 27th, 2022 at 4:54 pm
Move it to Nashville TN
September 27th, 2022 at 5:04 pm
back to dallas since jerry knows we are the “new america’s team”
September 27th, 2022 at 5:05 pm
Why not play in Jaguars stadium. Don’t believe JVille will have much impact during or post storm.
September 27th, 2022 at 5:16 pm
This has got to be a joke. A really bad joke.
September 27th, 2022 at 5:19 pm
Urgent to all Buc evacuees…turn around and go back. They sent you to where the squall is going.
September 27th, 2022 at 5:24 pm
Listnfrmafar will find some way to blame Hurricane Ian on BA…..
September 27th, 2022 at 5:31 pm
Lol∆∆
Not just NO! But H3LL NO!!
September 27th, 2022 at 5:46 pm
Just move it to Cleveland it a open air stadium and it would be a neutral enough for both teams
September 27th, 2022 at 6:08 pm
The City of Tampa Bay is most definitely welcome to New Orleans, They will be welcome.Stay safe Buccaneers.
September 27th, 2022 at 6:21 pm
Three people I don’t trust. Weather men, sorry persons. Used car salesman, sorry used car salespersons. The NFL league office. This is sure to be a gigantic cluster.
September 27th, 2022 at 6:29 pm
Go to Mobile
September 27th, 2022 at 6:37 pm
Tobe honest, the game can be played in Alaska for all I care. Will our top 3 receivers be healed enough tp play? Thats my concern. A good team can win in Saudia Arabia. If you good, you can win anywhere. We just better be ready for KC. They are mad about their last game lost. They will be ready wherever the game is played.
September 27th, 2022 at 6:37 pm
Nashville. Lots of Bucs fans up here.
September 27th, 2022 at 6:46 pm
Why not Tallahassee, but then that darn war chant might come into play
September 27th, 2022 at 6:48 pm
I read that they were reluctant to use Miami because they were concerned about State resources being needed elsewhere……sounds like BS to me.
September 27th, 2022 at 6:49 pm
Tampa will come out of this storm basically unscathed. Business as usual by Friday. Sunday will be a great day for football in Tampa. Take it to the bank.
September 27th, 2022 at 6:55 pm
High Rise Buildings are going to get some wind though, especially those under construction if everything on upper floors isn’t secured.
September 27th, 2022 at 7:02 pm
THAT is what it took to pronounce them idiots? Not years of Raheem Morris? Schiano? Never paying back Hillsborough tax payers for their half of the stadium they made billions off of using for free? They are idiots for relocating a game in a storm? Pfft.
September 27th, 2022 at 7:05 pm
Nashville!!! I’m here and would love to go to this game. Hope you guys back in Florida are prepared and safe!
September 27th, 2022 at 7:48 pm
Just say no to The Sewer Dome! The Bucs shouldn’t have to go back to that joint for at least a year. They’d probably put out booby traps in the Bucs locker room and on their sideline.
September 27th, 2022 at 7:59 pm
Who is kidding who here? Aint no way this primetime sucker is played at RJS on Sunday. How many have been to RJS? It borders right on Tampa Bay. Even if this b@ ### makes landfall @ around Pt. Charlotte/ Punta Gorda, it’s gonna be rough for the rest of us in the central parts of FL. Big worry is flooding. Our grounds are saturated. The other problem is the eye. It is full of tornadoes. We are just beginning to get the outer bands. 🙂
September 27th, 2022 at 8:09 pm
If this game is played in New Orleans I’m out…. Sorry… It’s that serious for me.. Call me what you want…
September 27th, 2022 at 8:29 pm
The game has been moved to Minn. Players and staff have just been told.
September 27th, 2022 at 8:33 pm
When is the Chiefs bye? If it falls with the Bucs just flip us. We could use the bye right now.
September 27th, 2022 at 9:16 pm
Monday at Rayjay!
September 27th, 2022 at 9:17 pm
@Goatfarmer, Chiefs bye is Week 8.
September 27th, 2022 at 9:43 pm
Tampa and St. P may get a direct hit, first since the 1920s. Everyone be safe.
I hope the hurricane won’t be a major distraction for the Bucs, but how can it not, with guys worried about their families and homes. Big mental advantage for KC.
Forget NO. If they won’t find a true neutral site, then play it somewhere where they hate the Chiefs.
September 27th, 2022 at 9:43 pm
What’s wrong with a college stadium? Like Doak Campbell?
September 27th, 2022 at 11:12 pm
Since it’s a Bucs home game, it should be a location of the Bucs choosing. End of discission.
I bet any city would welcome an influx of drunk money-spenders, during these hard times.
They have cleanup crews for these types of things, lol
September 27th, 2022 at 11:58 pm
If it does go to N.O. I know one restaurant the team won’t be eating at, or at least Mike Evans won’t be. But that just means they gotta not go out to dinner with Jameis to a seafood restaurant and get set-up for stealing crab legs.
September 28th, 2022 at 12:24 am
God, you people. Fair? 15,000 booing fans. Ooohhh. Scary.
Are they men or not? Get the f’ing job done. They won there on the way to a SuperBowl. Stop being crypus cooter boys.
September 28th, 2022 at 3:47 pm
Hey Adam. “back to dallas since jerry knows we are the “new america’s team”” you need to check your sheet, “America’s QB” now plays in Nawlins maybe they can claim that title, I want another Super Bowl return, not another America’s QB pick 6!!
