Five!
September 20th, 2022Joe is still stoked how the Bucs pulled a King Kong Bundy on the slimy Saints on Sunday.
For those unaware, King Kong Bundy was a monstrous human being (6-4, 450) who wrestled in the WWF in the 1980s and 1990s. He refused to allow a match to end on a standard three-count. Bundy would pummel his heel to the point that he wouldn’t budge with a five-count.
Upon victory, Bundy would rise, hold up a hand with all of his fingers and thumb stretched out and bellow, “FIVE!”
That’s what the Bucs defense did to the slimy Saints. They beat the hell out of them so unmercifully, the slimy Saints succumbed to a five-count — five turnovers!
Three picks of America’s Quarterback, Mr. Entertainment, Jameis Winston (including Mike Edwards’ pick-six) and two fumble recoveries. What a day for the defense.
And again, Joe will remind readers of the money stat from a Todd Bowles defense: Any time the Bucs, since Bowles arrived on the scene in 2019, had three or more takeaways, the Bucs are undefeated (9-0).
Still, Joe would love to hear at on Sunday against the Packers, a Bucs player or coach holler, “FIVE!”

Unlikely vs Rodgers……but two would be very nice, especially if we don’t turn it over.
Is anyone surprised that “America’s Quarterback” had 3 picks including a pick 6?
And……it could have been more.

WWF > WWE.
Until the O gets in sync, this D is carrying the team. Very worried about injuries.
Suh.

Let’s be honest, things happen in a game, let’s mot just thank Jameis, but if Olave doesn’t fumble the ball, that game could have been a lot closer even with 4 turnovers and 5 sacks.

Getting points off of turnovers will be crucial. Go Bucs!

Beasley signed with Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beasley signs with Bucs is that true?

LVMYBUCS–to practice squad, yes.

Rodgers is different our defense is in for a tough one. Our offense is likely gonna struggle without Mike. I hope we score more TD

rrsrq, thank you. I’ve been saying that, I’m excited for the win but lets not pound our chest as if the game couldn’t have gone the other way.

Hey Joes, I just read that KC will be missing one of their top linebackers cos of suspension due to domestic violence. Hope our Offense slowly heals and gets its act together. This walking wounded routine is nuts even by Buc Luck standards!

Yea but he won’t be there long just until he gets up to speed I would assume. Gronk next?

Don’t understand what’s going on with Hicks’ foot injury and why we haven’t heard anything yet. Todd Bowles said after the game something to the effect that ‘it doesn’t look good’. Wasn’t very encouraging.
Even with Hicks in there, the official stats have us giving up 173 rushing yards on 38 carries … for a 4.6 YPC average allowed. I was surprised that both Dallas & New Orleans didn’t run more, but hey it’s their game plan.
Packers on the other hand have been running it a lot more (an average of 28 times per game). And they’ve been averaging 5.6 YPC doing it. Bummer. There is a saving grace in there however; their defense has been allowing 5.6 YPC average. Got a hunch the Bucs’ offense might take advantage of that.

watching jameis melt down was awesome!!! Hate the saints, glad he is their problem now. I was pulling for him when the bucs didnt resign him until he talked trash 2 years ago about the saints being the “harvard” of qb schooling. He is a clown, hate the saints.

Rodgers is 0-3,0-4 in rayjay aint changing sunday

IF Perriman does not catch the TD pass. And IF Succop does not make his kicks. And IF they do not give up the garbage TD in the end. You know what IF means?

Green Bay’s o-line is suspect in pass pro. Karen Rodgers is getting sacked and harassed early and often. I expect (and hope) for Shaq and company to really get after him.
Plus our DBs against those young receivers looks promising as well. Just need to be stouter against the run. Hopefully Hicks will be a go for the game
September 20th, 2022 at 9:29 am
A little Toradol and Hicks will be good to go. I hope.

Conversely, we could say, if Brady and the offense didn’t fumble on that drive we would have most likely scored a TD and put it even more out of reach. I don’t understand when people mention these stupid hypotheticals, they don’t consider it both ways. Smdh

Green Bay is currently suffering from a lack of players to stretch the defense. None of the vets on the team scare a db with speed and so far the rookies haven’t shown they can get the job done, and Rodger’s doesn’t trust them. It’s hard to play offense in a condensed field
September 20th, 2022 at 9:35 am
Hey! Did any of the buccaneers players notice that the NFL gave the offensive MVP award to Rodgers last season!? Huh!!
September 20th, 2022 at 9:45 am
Rodgers is taking a lot of time after the snap, his new receivers are new and he hasn’t got much resume with them, except to bitch at them.
Take away his go-to guy, slow the run, and the Bucs can beat him, if we have a couple of receivers ready to play.

Joe – I assume the Todd Bowles stat with takeaways is only regular season? I think we had at least 3 takeaways in the loss to the Rams last post season.

Let’s be realistic here… Packer receivers aren’t any scarier than those in Dallas or New Orleans… our secondary is probably the best in the league. Dean and Davis are the legit best CB tandem in the league and their three safeties are among the best trio in the league. Their 5 DB set is hard to dent…. that being said… expect lots of attempts to run on our suddenly vulnerable run defense. Packers have some beef in the backfield. The offense will have to show up because the Packers will likely not be pass happy this week and try to be more balanced so opportunities will be limited.

I knew jaymiss wouldnt let us down….

Is nobody else concerned about the fact that we got 5 turnovers and 6 sacks, yet only scored 20 points? Personally I am concerned. Mike Edward’s saved our butts with that pick 6 because the offense wasn’t going to score. That kind of a defensive performance should have lead to a blowout. I am not saying that the sky is falling, but I am concerned.
Btw, wasn’t gage supposed to be an amazing pick up? I would like him to start earning that contract rather than looking like a bit player who makes the occasional catch.
