Is Sabby The Goat “Raheem’s Boy?”
June 14th, 2010Those camera loving Tampa Tribune/TBO.com guys are at it again in another edition of their video blog.
This time they’re talking all things Sabby The Goat.
Anwar Richardson and Woody Cummings are caught up arguing about whether Sabby The Goat is “one of Raheem’s boys,” versus handpicked free agent (the only free agent) Sean Jones.
Funny stuff in this video. Interesting how neither seems to think Sabby The Goat had a halfway decent season in 2009.

Cummings is right! This Sabby the Goat is a worthless turd! At least Michael Clayton can block! Explain to me what Sabby the Goat can do?
CUT HIM!

Well, hell, if the rest of the defense sucking last year is attributed to Bates and his “scheme” then why not chalk up Discatello’s suckiness to that as well. I think Sabby is great, even though he couldn’t whip his way out of a wet paper sack. And even though he can’t tackle his own grandma, I think he is going to have a break out season. And though he knows less about taking a proper angle than an F student in geometry class, he will be just fine. I think Sabby and the Bucs are great. How’d I do JimBuc?

Actually Jimmy , Sabby can do soemthing.
He is an excellent Special Teams player. Probably the best we have besides Stovall.

Did not Sabby turn the Bucs on to Sammy Stroughter ?
June 13th, 2010 at 6:41 pm
Yes, and Sabby was repsonsilbe for the Gulf oil disaster as well. Sabby was on the grassy knoll. Sabby worked for Goldman Sachs and Enron. You kill me Joe. Of all the terrible play that represented the Bucs last year, you seem to feel Sabby is the sole man responsible for the defensive blunders. I saw “every” DB get beat last year. Even Cummings can’t get it straight in his blog. He says he missed a tackle against New Orleans which allowed the Saints to take the game into overtime. What he exactly did was miss the INT he went for. At least get it right.

Did Sabby play well last year? no. But he was not the worst player on defense. He is also very young at the position. For a team so void of talent that needs talent, we should not be so willing to jettison talented players. Besides Joe, We need a scapegoat for when we win only 5 games this year.

Who played worse than Sabby last year?
June 14th, 2010 at 9:33 am
Hovan. Without question. That is why he got cut. And don’t tell me he played hard, sniffing out screens and such. The only reason he would sniff out a screen play was he consistently got blown off the line 3-4 yards. On most teams he would have the nickname “turtle” because he was frequently on his back and helpless.
Joe, On a side note. Since this is Freeman’s first year in the true offense. Could Mr. Steve White write an article on how Defense’s would prepare for another team’s Offense. Like how many game tape’s they need to pick apart a rookies tendencies.

the_buc_realist,
I agree – the Bucs shouldn’t jettison talented players. Or for that matter, they shouldn’t even jettison semi-talented players. But they should jettison Piscatelli.

As far as who played worse. how about Ryan Simms, Quincy Black, Chris Hovan and possibly Ebert Mack. How about Michael Clanghands and your little buddy Sluggo the QB.

Nuggent was in the running for Worst as well.

The Bucs didn’t lose because of Sluggo. The Bucs lost because half the people on this site could cover people better.
Sluggo is starting for the Steelers. But he wasn’t good enough to be a backup with the Bucs. Yeah, right.
June 14th, 2010 at 11:31 am
Bingo. And the Bucs cut their losses with him virtually right away. Wasn’t he pulling more cash than Sabby?
June 14th, 2010 at 5:40 pm
The case can easily be made that Tanard Jackson played just as poorly as Sabby last season….

Well thanks for update on Sluggo. I didn’t know he had been named the starter. Here’s a bet for you if you’d like to take it. If Sluggo starts against the Bucs, the Steelers will lose. Even up. Bet ya a six pack of your favorite brew. Are you on? By the way, I didn’t think safeties were designed to cover wideouts one on one in the Tampa 2 which is what Sabby was drafted for. Oh, yea, that’s right, the Bucs didn’t play the Tampa 2 during the first half of the season, did they?

LOL Come on man, you’re not going to corner Joe to bet against the Bucs.
All Joe is saying is, the Steelers thought Leftwich was good enough to back up and occassionally start for them before Leftwich signed with the Bucs, and they think Leftwich is good enough for them now.
The Steelers are considered to be one of the better teams in eyeballing talent in the league. Yet Bucs fans thought Leftwich was the worst guy to ever take a snap, yet he had no line (Faine, Sears out) and no receivers to throw to, and was playing from behind most of the time.
What have the Bucs shown you in recent months that suggests they are better at judging talent than Kevin Colbert?
Not suggesting Leftwich should be starting. But how it is the Steelers think he’s good enough for them as a backup, but he’s not good enough to be a backup for the Bucs?

If Josh Freeman would have raped a girl and been suspended for 4 games , I’m sure we would have kept Sluggo around for insurance also.
Fortunetly for us , this is not the case.

Understand your betting reason, I could never bet against the Bucs either. Like not knowing which came first, the chicken or the egg, I will never understand your fondness for Sluggo.
