“Thick Lives Matter”

September 4th, 2022

Lombardi Lenny talks offseason diet.

The media-driven freakout about Leonard Fournette’s June weight got a whole new level of clarification from Playoff Lenny himself.

The silliness escalated to the extreme when a local reporter claimed Playoff Lenny ballooned to “a donut shy of 260” upon arriving at Tampa Bay’s June minicamp.

The Bucs’ No. 1 running back dove deep on this topic during his recent visit to the Barstool Sports podcast Bussin’ With The Boys. There, Fournette claimed his peak weight at camp was “251” and it wasn’t anything too out of the ordinary as he transitions from vacation to mode to season training.

March is his heaviest month, Fournette said, and a typical feasting binge for him includes 6 a.m. runs to Waffle House after a night of gaming til 5 a.m.

In the scenario, Fournette said he advises his personal chef to pass on breakfast “and come back for lunch.”

Playoff Lenny went on to explain that comfort food is part of his New Orleans culture and that’s just a fixture of his world when he is in vacation mode.

With a big grin, Playoff Lenny declared that “thick lives matter” and added he’s proud to be a big beastly dude who likes to eat. Fournette added that when it comes time to work and get in shape, he’s as serious as anyone not Tom Brady.

For those wondering, Fournette said his favorite fast-food breakfast is Chik-fil-A. Joe’s thinking three chicken-egg-and-cheese biscuits with double hash browns.

I hope who ever started this nonsense (I know his name but won’t give him anymore attention) is getting a good laugh (Jerk). I’m glad to see Lombardi Lenny is taking it all in good fun. Brady is going to add a new nickname for him this year. Legend Lenny!

Lenny is a big powerful Man, and so what if he had a few extra pounds ?
He has ran harder this preseason then any I can remember.
Forget the Chick Filet Talk. This Man goes to Waffle House for a real breakfast of Country Ham, Eggs, Hash Browns and Pancakes!

  3. MonkeyMan Says:

Why does the “all inclusive” culture we apparently have had shoved down our throats think it’s okay to fat shame people? Especially an African American successful black man?

It’s disgusting and they should all be ashamed of themselves.

Lenny is an incredible asset and a great man. Leave the dude alone.

  4. Goatfarmer Says:

I love Lenny. Just love him.

How about 2000 combined scrimmage yards for the big man in 2022?

    Thick lives matter…..ROTFLMAO!

Thick Lives Matter….this is good news for TBBF

  6. Buccos Says:

The great ones never get out of shape

  7. Jerry R Jones Says:

    Journalistic integrity is dead.

  8. Ed Says:

Looks more powerful than ever. Running harder than ever. Vaughn and Gio will spell him. When someone is out White will get to show his value. High expectations for the rookie. He’ll get his chances.

  9. BucsfanFred Says:

That’s gonna backfire on him eventually.

  10. Bucs Win Says:

Dr. $troud is responsible for that nonsense.

  11. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

    LFG Lard A$$ Lenny

  12. ModHairKen Says:

I admire the man for enjoying his off-season. Is he ready now? That’s all that matters.

  13. Outsider Says:

This episode of ‘Bussin with the Boys” was so hilarious and entertaining. Highly recommend it. They talk about the training camp brawl too.

  14. steele Says:

If the extra weight and lard translates into him actually playing like a “power back” (as he is inaccurately portrayed), good, it’s about time. On the other hand, if he plays the way he always has, he will just be a slower finesse back. There is no feature back in this committee.

  15. Buczilla Says:

The doorknob that called out Lenny and the trash outfit that he works for are two good examples of what’s wrong with a lot of media today. Football players are allowed to live their lives and as long as Lenny kicks butt this year, I don’t care how many oreos he ate in the offseason.

  16. Buccos Says:

Look at Walter Payton’s off-season workout program. He was in better shape in the off-season. In season was like taking a break for him. The complete opposite of Lasagna Lenny

  17. George Says:

I am fine with Lenny’s weight and eating habits. He performs on the field and that is all that matters. At some point he will modify his diet when he feels like he needs to.

  18. David Says:

    LoL.
Sounds like Playoff Lenny is going to balloon up when he retires

  19. adam from ny Says:

    what if:

down the line after lenny plays his contract out and brady is long gone…he doesn’t play at 235, but plays at say, 255 and switches his role to an experienced pass catching fullback in a totally different offense, which in a few years will be more run oriented anyway without brady…

if lenny is still here by then it could be a whole new role and fit to extend his career and he can finish out and retire as a buccaneer…

    just an odd rando thought…

This year folks. That’s all we can count on. Hope Lenny and the gang perform well this year, it could be another long time till we have this chance again.

  21. Brazen Zebra Says:

There’s mega-obese, giga-obese, piga-obese, hoga-obese, and then there’s how Fournette reported to training camp … Mama-Mia obese! Jim Brown would never report that way. I hope Fournette produces.

  22. teacherman777 Says:

How can these guys be around Tom Brady, and still eat fast food and be lazy.

If you are in the presence of a Messiah, why not follow his example?

Lenny devolves in the off-season, then tries to get back in shape during the season.

    Not smart.

  23. Listnfrmafar Says:

What DB in their right mind wants to tackle Lenny in the open field at 260?

  24. Goatfarmer Says:

Any of you dieticians ever spent much time in Louisiana? It’s the best food in the US if not the world. Him going from 227 to 250 is a 10% gain on a very healthy and conditioned frame. That kind of weight falls off like a hooker’s skirt when you start sweating. I’m glad he got so,e rest and relaxation, and he proved in camp and his preseason action he’s in top form.

Go eat a beignet and chill.

Dude, STFU with all of your victims. It’s not fat shaming if it directly affects the effectiveness and health of a player nor is it fat shaming if a person is unhealthy…. newsflash, woketard, the 2nd most affected demographic from COVID after being elderly, was the obese. Despite what you might have been led to believe by the idiots in charge, OBESITY is still the biggest killer in the US… by a large margin. Obese people are also the biggest money producer for the corrupt medical and insurance industries. Quit being a victim, it just exposes your weakness.
