Bucs at Colts
Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.
TV: WFLA-TV, Ch. 8, NFL Network. The NFL Network will rebroadcast the game four times in the next nine days. Those rebroadcasts are scheduled for: Sunday 10 a.m.; Tuesday 7 p.m.; Thursday 1 a.m. and Sunday, Sept. 4 at 1 p.m.
Streaming: All NFL preseason games are available via NFL+. The game will also be streamed on Buccaneers.com (geographic restrictions apply).

Weather: Indianapolis plays in a dome stadium but the Colts may have the roof open. If so, the temperature at kickoff will be a pleasant 81 degrees under clear skies, per AccuWeather.com. The temperature will cool off to 75 by game’s end. There is no rain expected.
Outlook: Yeah, this is sort of a warmup for the starters, at least the starters who will dress. For the rest, it will be the final chance to impress the Bucs that they belong on the roster. The Bucs, and the rest of the NFL, have to cut down the roster to 53 on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 30. The key places to watch here are special teams, the receivers and left guard. Rookie Luke Goedeke is getting the start tonight and how he plays will likely determine if he starts Week 1 at Dallas, or perhaps the Bucs make a roster move there? The Bucs are crazy deep at receiver. With just one preseason game left, Joe is going to guess the Bucs have an idea who will make the roster as a receiver. However, good play on special teams could either win a guy a job or lock up a job for a receiver. There are so many good receivers on the Bucs roster, it’s not impossible to believe that one bad route, one drop, one mistake, or one rotten special teams play could be the difference between collecting an NFL check next week or paying for a moving service. The main goal for the Bucs in this game? Joe doesn’t want to see one injury. That is the real goal tonight.

From what I hear Bucs are going 8-9 and the Saints are going to win the Super Bowl because they have Shaq and Wirfs on the right and a second and third no one has seen with Brady.

Watching last season’s season opener vs. the Cowboys, I expect that this upcoming one will be similar. A sloppy affair that could go either way.
Recall the Bucs were fully loaded with Gronk, AB, and defense with everone, and still barely wheezed out a win thanks to a Brady-Gronk last minute come from behind drive. Dak had way too much time in the pocket and Cooper and Lamb made big plays.
This time, with a patchwork OL, new receivers, no Gronk, and a defense that isn’t a sure thing, who knows. Cowboys will have home field advantage that could help influence a close one.

I’m hoping Bowles comes to his senses and says he’s not playing any starters. Lets use 2020 and no preseason as our model, or just take the Rams, who won the SB and they never play anyone in the preseason.
If it was still 4-games, I want to see the starters play, but with 3, and only 1-left and a ton of injuries, I don’t want to see anyone playing on turf (I think it’s turf).
Hopefully the NFL just goes ahead and does a 2 week preseason, 18 game schedule and give us 2 bye weeks. With NFL redzone, bye weeks are actually quite interesting, and would give the players a reason to say they got a ‘win’ in negotiations, when, in reality, it means the NFL can sell and extra week of games.

I’m sure that Brady intends to play at least a couple of series, and if that happens, our starting OLine will be protecting him. I don’t expect to see ME13, Godwin or Gage out there, but all the rest of our starters will most likely be out there while Brady’s in.
Colts had a Top-10 defense last season, and were VERY good at forcing turnovers. It’ll be interesting to see how effective our 1st team offense is against their 1st team defense.

Bucs D is gonna take center stage this season. That side of the ball will bring us to the Super Bowl. O-Line just needs to make sure Brady is standing come that game.

@Defenserules. The problem is Wirfs is playing. Are we sure we want Josh Wells at RT while Tom is in? That’s coaching malpractice. Josh Wells was a turnstile against the Rams. I’m not expecting much from the offense this game. I doubt we’ll put up any points. The Colts defense played us well last year. We started off really slow and were down big at half. We didn’t do much in the pass game. Tom was efficient, but Lenny took over the game on the ground. I will add that I believe Scottie got in BA’s doghouse after that game in Indy. He ran the wrong route and it resulted in a pick. BA was upset about that after the game. Anyway, I think our bench players will be more effective than our starters.
On defense, the Colts lit our secondary up. It was downright embarrassing. Winfield saved the day with an unreal pick. We stopped Taylor for most of the game, and then we got lazy and he had more success as the game went on.

Stupid comparison to Kyle Trask.
1. Burrow was drafted the year before Trask, and so is entering his 3rd season.
2. Burrow has had 2 full seasons of playing time.
3. Trask has had 0 seconds of playing time.
4. Burrow has practiced and played with nothing but NFL starters for 2 seasons.
5. Trask held a clipboard his first season and this preseason has practiced and played with nothing but hamburger flippers.
Facts matter.

Usually, I love the cheerleader pics, but this one almost looks like a drag queen.
The Colts are a very good team, as were the Titans.
I will be watching to see how well Brady is protected, as I am sure every Buc Fan will also be.
