Tom Brady Takes Notes On Bucs Defensive Teammates

August 7th, 2022

The legend of Tom Brady grows, it seems, every time a former teammate is interviewed.

Today’s edition features former bone-crushing Bucs safety Jordan Whitehead (2018-2021). Joe listened to him on The Official Jets Podcast and, eventually, Whitehead was asked about playing with Tom Brady and what he learned.

There were a few things, such as how Whitehead said Brady turned Bucs walk-throughs into jog-throughs — “that was new for me” — and took those sessions heart-attack seriously, including tearing into receivers for lack of precision.

But more interesting to Joe was Whitehead saying that Brady always took diligent notes in team meetings when coaches were talking about specific Bucs defensive players. Whitehead said the only reason he could speculate was that Brady was building a book on weaknesses of players to use at his next team or if they left the Bucs.

Ironically, the podcast was recorded before news broke of Brady being in talks with the Dolphins.

Whitehead went on to say Brady was always eager to explain to him how he reads defenses and Whitehead said that taught him the value of disguise.

Man, Joe has a visual of competitive Brady building a book on Bucs defensive players, just to better attack them in practice in order to beat them and subsequently make them better. And yeah, Joe suspects Brady learned a long time ago that he’d eventually play against most of his teammates, so it’s a great idea to know their weaknesses, even at 45 years old.

Why is everyone assuming Brady will be playing against us next year? Please, enjoy this season.

In light of the NFLs investigation and subsequent penalties it’s hard for me to believe that the NFL would allow Brady to ever join to Dolphins. It would send a terrible message and I would think they would do something to prevent it.

Lol. Brady is not immobile. He’s a master of manipulating the pocket. A master of letting the outside rush get just far enough upfield before he steps up letting them pass behind him. A master of sliding left or right when the rush comes inside. The false narrative is that he can’t handle the inside rush. Wrong. He can’t handle the inside and outside rush at the same time. Who can?? So many of these QBS shat themselves and run out of the back of the pocket or refuse to throw the check down when in trouble. Mahomes in the Super Bowl anyone. Brady’s pocket manipulation is a thing of beauty.

Hope we are taking copious notes on potential FA QB’s for next year, if Trask doesn’t get past his present performance state of affairs.

Gisele was the mastermind behind Brady to Miami. Both Brady and Gisele are good friends with the billionaire. If you google them there are pictures out there with Brady and Gisele going to parties with Beal.. I know your new to covering Brady but Gisele hated living in New England and now she wants to live in Miami. 2017 after Belichick cost Brady and patriots eagles super bowl. Brady and super G went to Krafts house and demanded Kraft either trade him or let him out of his contract. Gisele is quoted saying I am tired of Belichick treat my husband like Johnny fing foxboro. Well Kraft refused to trade Brady but Belichick was out tampering with Giants and Washington trying to leverage Kraft over Brady. Belichick was the first to tamper but Boston media loved Bill talking to Giants so they encouraged it.. Boston media hated Brady especially Boston globe. Patriots media was so happy when Brady left. Patriots media all said Belichick didnt want Brady and now Belichick can prove he could win with another qb.

Tom Brady will be able to build a fantastic team wherever he lands, as a player, GM or minority owner. He will skillfully call individual and make them an offer that would be difficult to refuse. Hope not but…oh boy.

I think belichick was jealous of Brady. I think gazelle had enough of belichick , Treating husband like Johnny foxborough, playing every year from half price, I’ll check throwing Guerrero out, no proof ! why did he Belcheck get rid of Gronk to Detroit and Gronk says I’m retiring can’t trade me, so when ownership came calling from Beall, the Miami Dolphins, who wouldn’t take the call .As far as the Bucs goes you take a little tampering may have been going on between Jason White Bruce Arians to Brady might want to shut up about that, secondly if you remember correctly the Bucs Brady to 2 years, then when he won the super bowl, let’s bring the team back, cap space was needed so Brady’s second year contract was changed and money was added to third year and rest was voided, freed up 30 million, rest of years voided basically got sucked in by Bucs. they held Brady, he retired and could have given the money back and then been a minority dolphin owner.

@BradyownsBelichick I agree with you 1000%. Not sure why the Gisele angle in all this Miami stuff isn’t mentioned more…. I have a strong feeling that she would rather be in an international glamour hub like Miami rather than little old Tampa. So in an effort to keep playing at an advanced age, and still not have Gisele be too mad about it, Brady could have been trying to look for a compromise. So he gets to keep playing, and she gets to live in a place that she greatly prefers. I don’t see why Brady would in the middle of last season when Tyreek wasn’t even on the dolphins, want to leave a loaded Bucs roster to go play with a depleted one. Play the bills twice a year and subsequently become a villain in Boston. So he’d need to have some external factors like a pissy wife not too happy about him still playing and trying to compromise to try to keep her off his back. Makes perfect sense to me…..

Let’s get a few things straight. The Boston Media hates Belichick. They just couldn’t do anything but praise him, because of all the winning. Now that Bill looks fallible, the Boston Media is coming after him. Some have even suggested that if the Patriots miss the playoffs, his job is in jeopardy. Believe me they despise him, mainly because of how he treats them. Snorting and grunting and dismissing relative questions.

Brady has always taken notes on his own teammates. It’s smart. It makes them better. He’ll find your weakness, expose it, and force you to work on deficiencies. I doubt it has much to do with the possibility he may see them in a different uniform. Could it be part of it, sure.

  13. steele Says:

This is ridiculous. Any competitor studies and takes notes on all opponents, whether it is practice or serious game time, no matter if the opponent is a teammate or outside enemy. TB12 is obsessively competitive, the same way Michael Jordan was. Win every moment. Win every snap.

As for the Dolphins noise. Are we going to be wasting energy this week with new conspiracy theories when we have joint practices with the evil Dolphins? “Ooh, who is Brady talking to over there?” “OMG he’s talking to Wes Welker!!! They’re up to something!!!” And so what if he is.

Makes sense. Batman has a plan to take down each other member of the Justice League sooo….

GMC would love this comment. Lol.
