Joe is worried about the gauntlet that is the Bucs’ first four games of the season.
At the Cowboys, at the slimy Saints, hosting the Packers and Chiefs … well, “this Joe” hopes the Bucs are no worse than 2-2 to start the season (the other Joe will throw up on himself if the Bucs are anything less than 3-1).
One win the Joe ping this here story has already chalked up is the game against the Packers on Sept. 25. Why is Joe so confident? Well, aside from Packers drama queen quarterback Aaron Rodgers being a choke artist in the playoffs, Rodgers is also awful in warm-weather games.
And in particular, Rodgers blows chunks in Florida. Joe is guessing Rodgers, the California boy who works in northeastern Wisconsin, doesn’t handle humidity well.
How awful is Rodgers in Florida? Well, he and the Packers got their tails kicked in between the legs to open the season last year in Jacksonville. That’s when Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, and the slimy Saints seal-clubbed them 38-3.
And remember two years ago when Rodgers and the Packers came to the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway and Ndamukong Suh and Jamel Dean and Tom Brady rag-dolled them? Yup, that was a warm-weather game, too.
Shoot, Joe remembers in his very first NFL start, leaky, sleepy Josh Freeman beat Rodgers wearing the creamsicles 38-28 during Freeman’s rookie season.
In Rodgers’ last win over the Bucs in Tampa in 2014, lousy Lovie Smith’s defense held the mighty Packers and Rodgers to 20 points. Rodgers also hurt his right foot and whined for the rest of the season that the Bucs had the worst turf in the NFL and blamed the turf for his tender little paw. Aw.
So not only are humidity and Suh in Rodgers’ head, so too is the turf in Tampa. Add it all up and it spells out Rodgers mentally shutting down the second the Bucs take a lead in the game.

To be fair Joe, it does get pretty nasty humid in Wisconsin. No where near bad as Florida I hear, but it gets gross.

Every time we say it’s a sure win, we seem to find a way to lose, second string QBs etc. Looking at the NFL it’s any given Sunday!

Yah. Its a tough schedule . No doubt. Bucs play 5 division winners.
But brady has never started a season below 2-2 which is their toughest stretch.
If they go 2-2 to start out that will be fine
We have peeps on here saying the bucs will only win 6 games? How is that possible. We have a solid roster. And we have the GOAT who will not play if he is not playing at level of his standards. brady had one season at 9-7- his worst. The rest …yup all double digit 10,11,12 and 13 wins plus.
But the sky is falling…we will only win 6 games now. Its really a shame that we have the worst nancy girls as “buc Fans”

It has to be the toughest schedule in the NFL. Let’s hope we at least go .750 on those first four and very minimal injuries

Dont forget
1)Cowboys lost cooper their best receiver and their defense is a huge question mark
2) Saints lost payton and will jameis be ready week 2 after his injury. Saints have our number but we play them better in NO. I think saints have a good chance to take us in our stadium
3)Karen lost his “maybe” the best receiver in the nfl
4) Mahommes is a freak but lost maybe the most freakish receiver in nfl who stretched the field for years for them allowing us to focus on kelce
Tough schedule for sure. But it will make us better come playoff time. The key again will be if we can stay healthy

Aside from the weather, the main thing working against Rodgers will be the absence of Davante Adams. I think Adams’ departure is going to be a major setback for the Pack this year.

Too bad, the Bucs won’t be unpacking the creamsicle unis this year. The Packers game would be the ideal game for that.

The first four games should leave our Bucs significantly damaged/injured and will definitely affect the rest of the schedule. Whoever comes up with these schedules should have their head examined.

I agree for the most part, but Rodgers is just too talented to ever completely disregard. Speaking of Josh Freeman, is he the most talented quarterback that we have ever had from a physical standpoint? I lean towards him, but I think that Jameis, Young, and Vinny would give him a run for his money.
