“I Don’t Want To Be Taken Off The Field For A Weakness In My Game”
May 5th, 2022Joe already wrote about how rookie Bucs running back Rachaad White could be the anti-Ronald Jones.
That was based on film and data, but White even sounds like he’s no RoJo.
“I’m the type of competitor, type of guy, a playmaker, that I don’t want to be taken off the field for a weakness in my game,” White told The Jim Rome Show yesterday. “So I make sure I have no holes in my game. No weakness. And I do everything to the best of my ability, and the receiving part of it is, you know, a great aspect.”
Tampa Bay’s third-round pick last week went on to say he’s always seeking to stand out through greatness in all areas. “Being able to separate yourself, being different from other running backs in the league and other running backs that I was coming out with.”
The Bucs see White as a running back who is very different than any on its roster, which is very intriguing. Joe will have more on that later today.

I hope to see a lot of him. He is my favorite draftee.

If any team is still dumb enough to blitz Brady then this kid would be a great way to make them pay dearly

So from what I’ve heard, his pass pro needs work, but based off this, it sounds like he’s gonna work on it a lot. I also like what Sean said today regarding how we can kick him out to the slot while Godwin is out and keep Lenny out on the field. I’m really liking the sound of that.

Hmmm Leopold….
May 5th, 2022 at 1:54 am
I like it
May 5th, 2022 at 1:55 am
I’m still worried about our defence.

I’m not sold on him but I have hope and trust in the staff to get the best out of this kid.

Swag is fine if you back it up. Let’s see it, rookie.
As for RoJo, JoeBucs can’t resist hating on him. Great back, but not for this offense. There is nothing wrong with RoJo that a change of scenery won’t fix. Thnk about this when you see highlights of him busting open long runs. We’re going to miss a lot of what he brought.

steele: Great back? Hahahahaha, okay.
May 5th, 2022 at 2:18 am
All of the Bucs draft picks have grown on me, after looking into them.

Love the confidence. Love the desire. Runs like Dickerson. Deceptively fast and powerful. Any Herm Edwards player has been taught by a great man.

steele: You actually think Ron’s pass catching and pass blocking will improve because he’ll put on a different uniform, if he makes Kansas City’s team?

Bucsfan4ever,
I agree, I’m more worried about the defense also.
I did not agree picking a rb that high. Remember, solid rbs these days can be found in late rounds n as UDFA. As for RoJo,from a mental perspective, he struggled with criticism n head wasn’t in the game when he made a bad play. He shuts down which I believe affected his game. Who in their right mind would run out of bounds when the first down was right in reach of making. That’s all mental. He was drafted relatively at a young age. I said it when he was drafted n will say it again, Bucs should’ve provide him with a mentor. Blocking, catching n building his confidence level are all teachable tools. KC will coach him up n maximize his skills set. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Do you think the Bucs coaches didn’t try to teach him this stuff? They probably got tired of babysitting him, so you could be right, towards the end.

I like this dude and can the season just start already.
May 5th, 2022 at 3:40 am
Dmatt, I haven’t forgotten that 98 yard run or that great span during the SB season till he got COVID.
He just needs too much hand holding and pass holding.
Maybe Andy Reid can help him.
I like him and hope he does well.

Most importantly, no fumbles!
May 5th, 2022 at 4:44 am
Rojo was a head case. It’s been documented.
His step out of bounds play says it all.
On with the new!

Add about 11 lbs of muscle and take some pilates to stretch out those hips. If he’s as an upright runner as people say he is better learn to lower those legs or he’ll get bent backwards when he pass protects.

White … “So I make sure I have no holes in my game. No weakness. And I do everything to the best of my ability, and the receiving part of it is, you know, a great aspect.”
Words like that play well in job interviews, but performance on the NFL fields of play against the best pro players in the world is a whole nuther animal. We’ll all know what you’ve got Rachaad by this time next year. Good luck competing against Lenny, Gio & Ke’Shawn. We pretty much know what they bring to the field of play.

We have a great RB room to add to our WR room to add to our Oline room……and need Gronk to complete a great TE room
I’m also concerned about depth on our Dline, OLB,
I think our secondary is fine as long as there aren’t multiple injuries.

Production speaks louder than words. I’m intrigued. I hope this kid shines.
May 5th, 2022 at 9:43 am
If this guy can….I’m just gonna say now Rachaad “Juice” Wallace!
May 5th, 2022 at 11:04 am
@Joe
I would like to give you props on your dogged research skills, you are a better man than me if you can stomach an episode of Jim Rome. The best decision ever made by local sports radio was to stop playing that height challenged douche on our airwaves.

His name is Rachaad White, not Wallace. Maybe you’re thinking of Marcellus Wallace but I don’t know. What does Marcellus Wallace look like?

For those of you crying about Rachaad White, go watch his Washington and USC game film then STFU. The dude can flat out play. He is very reminiscent of Marcus Allen. He is very slippery and hard to get a clean shot on. He isn’t big and powerful but he breaks a lot of tackles and always seems to fall forward. Nifty feet and enough speed. Great routes out of the backfield and as a WR as well as very soft hands. This is the John David Johnson/McCaffery/Antonio Gibson that this offense has been wanting.

My bad….Rachaad “Juice” White…because he reminds me of O. J. Simpson.

Brandon…we’ll see….I hope so.

Word on the street was he can’t protect
So hopefully that “hole” will get filled
