Bucs Will Play Seahawks In Munich
May 4th, 2022It’s official. The time, date and opponent for the Bucs when they play the first NFL game on German soil is locked in.
The Seahawks will dodge the possibility of playing a game in 90 degrees and 90 percent humidity. The Bucs and Seahawks will face each other Nov. 13 at 9:30 a.m. Tampa time for the first NFL regular season game in Germany.
In Munich, that will be a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.
The announcement came this morning on NFL Network.
Bucs football in the morning? Get your strudel ready. Joe wonders what Big Storm will add to the menu for a fun morning watch party.

Blah. I’d MUCH prefer the game be played at Ray Jay.
May 4th, 2022 at 8:26 am
I plan on attending this game.

At least it doesn’t count as a home game. That being said because of the 17 game schedule we have 8 home games and 9 away. Does that flip flop ever year??? just curious, because if we had 9 home and 8 away the following year would seem fair.

And wouldn’t you know, they schedule it six weeks after Oktoberfest.
No

At least it should be a relatively easy game. Seattle should be pretty bad this year.
May 4th, 2022 at 8:39 am
Nice long flight for Seattle too.
May 4th, 2022 at 8:45 am
Nothing says NFL football like a game in Germany(?)!!!
May 4th, 2022 at 8:49 am
@evolve
What do you mean it doesn’t count as a home game?
May 4th, 2022 at 8:58 am
Ez win. Run the damn ball.
May 4th, 2022 at 8:58 am
11+ hours!
May 4th, 2022 at 9:02 am
direct from Tampa to Frankfurt, 3 hour train to Munich. EZ PZ we’ll be there.
May 4th, 2022 at 9:08 am
Fly 11+ hours to play at 6:30 AM pacific.
Brutal for Seattle.
May 4th, 2022 at 9:14 am
I don’t like it. Overseas games are not the Bucs thing. Whatever.
Next time Glazers, do it as a road team. Giving up a home game in our stadium is stupid.
May 4th, 2022 at 9:26 am
Gbobucsfan, in years past we have traveled over seas to play and counted as one of our Home games, sucked because season ticket holders miss out on games like that and basically long flight for the team ect. just because its over seas doesn’t mean it counts as away.
The Bucs away opponent is Seattle this year. Hope this helps clarify things.
May 4th, 2022 at 9:31 am
At this point…..I have the Seahawks marked off as a win for the Bucs….believe it or not, one of our easier games…..and playing in Munich won’t change that…..
Ziege (the GOAT) will shine……

This game in germany does count as one of the bucs 9 home games. Not sure what you are talking about
May 4th, 2022 at 10:08 am
@Evolving: SEA would have been a home game against NFCW (the other is LAR), the two away games are @ARI and @SF. The Bucs changed their website.
May 4th, 2022 at 10:54 am
“The Bucs changed their website.”
FIGURES!!! their site says away.
Danke Sehr German Buc

We should clobber these dudes, but I worry about our history against bad quarterbacks…

It sets up for a late bye week for the Bucs but I hate the fact the Bucs give up another home game again. It seems like the Jags are the only other team that is the home team for international games. On paper the Bucs should be big favorites but the Bucs are 0 for 3 in these international games so I really hope this game does not come back to bite the Bucs and cost them home field advantage if they make the playoffs as predicted. According to the schedule the Saints and Packers are joining the Jags in playing a home game at Tottenham, kind of surprised the Packers are hosting the Giants as I thought they were like the Cowboys in that they would never willingly give up a home game.

Not sure what the confusion is all about. Game is in Germany. Bucs are considered the “Home” team. Move on.
May 4th, 2022 at 11:30 am
Looks like I’m making this game!
May 4th, 2022 at 11:44 am
Seattle? Doesn’t seem like a match to generate excitement.
May 4th, 2022 at 12:26 pm
Can they bring back NFL Europe so we can have all of our home games in our home stadium please.. sheesh
May 4th, 2022 at 2:13 pm
For Christ sake, just stick a team in Europe, London preferably. This is a pain in the ass for everyone involved. If the NFL owners really want to expand the spot globally, a team in Mexico or Canada would make sense too.

I’m getting real tired of losing a precious home game to an overseas venue. Just wondering who it’s always the. Bucs who lose a home game.
May 4th, 2022 at 3:59 pm
This also means that the Bucs will most likely have a week 11 bye week because the bye is always after an international game (I think).

GOB, I have heard people from the Jacksonville area say that they would not be surprised if Kahn tried to move the Jags to London as they always give up a home game at the Gator Bowl to play there, even more often than the Bucs give up a home game. Heck, Kahn tried to buy Wembley Stadium a few years back. One radio guy up in Gainesville or Jacksonville suggested this: the Jags play 4 games in London in 4 weeks where 2 or 3 times they would be the home team and then they get a bye week after the 4th game and return home. The Jags would still play 5 to 7 games in Jacksonville. Not sure if the NFL would go for it but if the Jags are willing to give up multiple home games for the coin, why not? I’m just tired of the Bucs always giving up their home games, I doubt if you’d see Jimmy Jones giving up a home game in the “House that Jones built”. I wonder what benefits the Glazers get by doing this????
