Rachaad White Comes Shaun King Approved

Former Bucs QB Shaun King talks to Joe about new Tampa Bay running back Rachaad White.
Perhaps Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht listens to Shaun King’s national show?
King, one of but four quarterbacks in franchise history to lead the Bucs to the NFC Championship game, is a huge fan of the Buccaneers’ third round pick, running back Rachaad White of Arizona State.
Someone tipped off Joe that in King’s rankings of best running backs in the draft on his internationally streamed VSiN show , King had White ranked No. 2. Two!
So last night reached out to King to confirm.
“Absolutely, I love him,” King replied to Joe. And King confirmed rating White as his second-best back in the draft, “Behind only [Breece] Hall from Iowa State.”
Hall was selected by the Jets early in the second round last night.
Joe hopes White can pan out. Giving the Bucs three, maybe four legit weapons defenses have to worry about is a strength few teams possess.

Looks like a Charles Sims….and that’s not a bad thing…..looks great in the passing game and has a second gear….watch his highlights and you’ll feel better about this pick.

Was likely available with our late 4th round spot. And if we missed out on another Licht RB? Oh well, c’eat la vie! Plenty of more mediocre in the position out there.

All of these fake GMs with their comments after White was picked. Saying he couldn’t catch and was slow are just showing their asses. Undereducated fans that haven’t watched a second of tape and just sound like morons. White looks like Kamara in college. He tested like Kamara. He ran down field routes like Kamara. He’s literally the best pass catcher in the draft and some of the people here said he couldn’t catch. That’s embarrassing. Your opinion is worth nothing because you just pooped on yourself.

Watching his highlights, I really like him. He’s not short stocky and quick he’s long and fluid but has a deceptive speed burst.
A few people mentioned he’s not a receiver… They obviously did not watch him. The guy has caught about 70 balls the last two years and has good hands.

Licht said White was drafted purely because he was rated much higher on their board. I’ll take pro scouts opinions over guys on JBF that thought White couldn’t catch after catching 43 passes with 10 yards per.

I really like the pick of White. He is faster than either Lenny or ROJO or Vaughn. He was a wide receiver once, so he has great hands.
With his great hands and speed he can do a lot of damage on screen plays, coming out of the backfield.
I like how this draft has went for us so far.

The ppl comparing white to ROJO haven’t watched the tape…..White has much better cutting ability and shorter strides than ROJO. ROJO could only run in a straight line and had poor vision. White could be a steal.

The kid says he patterns his game after Leveon Bell, Jamal Charles, and Arian Foster.
Not bad RB’s to study; they were all really good in their prime. I have to admit that I didn’t know much about him do to the fact I don’t catch many if any Arizona State games. He actually looks pretty good from the clips I’ve seen; and, it sounds like he’s also solid in pass pro duties. At first glance, he looks to be a nice complement to Fournette. Playoff Lenny is obviously our RB1; Keyshawn Vaughn better show up to camp ready to complete if he’s to earn more PT because this kid White looks like an NFL ready RB.

Did you not see how many times Rojo would turn the corner for a TD? It was almost a signature play that he would turn into some big chunks if not a TD. Of course it has a lot to do with blocking, but his vision was not bad. He just would psych himself out if he started off poorly, got limited playing time, or benched.
That’s the main thing, Rojo was his own worst enemy.

Wanted James Cook for similar skills White has, so I like this pick. Cook just went too early.
We needed a running back that we could send in motion and line up outside and in the slot. Fournette can do it, but he’s not a natural at it. It’s still new to him big picture.
Who knows what Bernard has left in the tank, this is another good pick.

I really thought they would’ve addressed the secondary by now. I could see where they would’ve wanted to draft a RB but I’d be addressing the secondary first. Trade down at least one more time & keep a couple extra picks because as of now after the 4th round they wouldn’t be picking for awhile.

Watch his presser…..looks like Rojo……same size…about the same age…..but faster….4.48 vs 4.65….and White can catch the ball…..
He is humble….relaxed….also reminds me of Charles Sims exact same size and exact 40 time….4.48-4.8.

I think they should have waited before drafting a RB. There are a lot of good RB’s they good have gotten later.

I’m for one am Not Sold on waiting till all the high end players are gone. In case you guys haven’t noticed, the draft didn’t exactly fall our way. Licht did a great job of getting the best he could but I believe we missed some better options because we Weren’t more aggressive.
Just my feelings but I think I’m right. Great idea going after what we want versus continuing to sit on our hands and watch the draft go by.

I’d still love to know what they’re planning on doing about the D & the secondary. Did Brady tell them to draft a punter? I’m sure he didn’t tell them he needed punter help. They need to stop focusing all on the offense & focus on the D.

Unless they plan on bringing Ronde, Dexter, Abraham, Robinson & Kelly back. They’d have to fight SF for Lynch. Maybe I’m missing something with our secondary now.

The more I read on this kid, the more I watch stuff, the more I love this pick. His RAS score is insane, his top comparable player based on physical skills is Edgerrin James. He’s a completely natural pass catcher, and IF he can pass block, and that’s an IF for a rookie, but IF he can pass block, he’s the 3rd down back right out of the gate, and from there we’ll see how he does and how his role expands.
I can easily see this kid becoming Brady’s favorite new target and getting like 60 catches for 500 yards, before you even get to his rushing.
Unlike the vast majority here, I don’t gush over RB picks, I generally think they’re awful, but the more reading I’ve done, the more and more I like him. This is nothing like the Vaughn pick where you had to dig deep just to figure out what the Bucs were thinking, this one, with just a little research, looks like a great pick.
We shall see, but he could be the best 3rd down back since Charles Sims, and Sims, for you dummies that don’t remember, was arguably the #1 or #2 third down back in football early in his career. Him and Doug Martian combined to be the 2nd best duo in football in 2015. With Brady throwing the ball and teams wanting to defend that, it wouldn’t be impossible to see Fournette put up like 1300 yards, and White putting up like 500 yards rushing and 500 yards receiving.
