Tom Brady And The Telltale Water Bottle

March 8th, 2022

Just after signing with Tampa Bay (what a glorious memory that was) Tom Brady shared that he drinks about 200 ounces of water daily.

Brady believes chronic dehydration is a societal issue, but he drinks that much to help maintain his renowned muscle pliability that lets him play football like he’s 15 years younger than he is.

But what about now? The guy is retired and surely he’s not putting in all the effort — and it’s a huge effort — to keep drinking 200 ounces of water daily.

Except he is, says NFL Network insider reporter Ian Rapoport.

Audacy.com transcribed Rapoport on The Rich Eisen Show yesterday.

“It sounds like – and this is so dumb – but this is the way somebody who knows Brady very well described it to me. I guess Brady walks around with a jug of water all the time to make sure that he’s fully hydrated. And I made the joke to someone who knows him very well and has known him forever ‘Oh, I guess we can retire the jug’ and this person looked at me like I was crazy,” Rapoport said.

“He was like “Oh no, he’s still got the jug, he’s still in shape, he’s still eating well, he’s still doing the TB12 method and he’s still keeping himself hydrated in case.’ He’s still doing all the things he would do in case he wanted to return. I don’t know if he’s going to come back, I know it is at least possible. And I don’t know where the level of possible is, but it’s at least possible.”

And the saga continues.

Joe knows Rapoport and talked to him twice last week in Indianapolis at the NFL Scouting Combine. He’s not making stuff up. Joe has a very good idea of who Rapoport talked to but will leave it at that. Truly obsessive JoeBucsFan readers probably know.

Take your body weight; divide it by two; Drink that number in ounces of water, daily.

  2. ClodHopper Says:

    So many tea leaves.

I agree with Brady 100% about the water.

  3. westernbuc Says:

Is Brady supposed to get fat now or something? He’s selling the TB12 method. Why would he stop taking care of himself?

  4. Tampabaybucfan Says:

TBBF maintains his lack of fitness regularly….so not surprised Brady kept his regimen.

  5. D-Rome Says:

200 oz of water is insane. I think the most I consume in a day is half of that.

  6. Hodad Says:

Now someone believes Brady is coming back by how much water he’s drinking. Joe, maybe you should ask someone if Gabbert is drinking enough water since it’s likely he’s going to be our starting QB.

  7. Ash Says:

yup he is still trying to sell his brand not surprising but people see what they want to see

  8. Dewey Selmon Says:

I take my weight and divide it by 1 then drink that many ounces of BIG STORM BREW daily!!!

  9. Gbobucsfan Says:

How many ounces of water in Big Storm cold ones???

  10. DoooshLaRue Says:

If you’re a middle aged man or older, then you probably know why drinking a lot of water is a very hard thing to do.
In fact, you’d better have two jugs at all times and one needs to have a wide mouth and be empty.

  11. 1sparkybuc Says:

I don’t drink water because fish f#ck in it.

  12. New England Patriots Fan Says:

He is still throwing also to his own “camp” people, not NFL players.

  13. Listnfrmafar Says:

Hey yall, he’s making a movie and it’s not a sequel to Raging Bull, of course he is staying in shape. Like most people who retire they are up in the air on what their future holds especially an elite athlete that goes from a almost a repeat in the SB (thanks Toilet Bowles) to playing Mr. Mom. He wants to make sure once his divorce is settled he is back at it, IN A 49ERS UNIFORM.

  14. ClodHopper Says:

    Lol Dooosh. 100%!

  15. Thisisouryear!!! Says:

That’s the only thing that give a shed of hope for this to me is Gronk. I haven’t heard anything from him about retirement. I’d bet that he is talking to Tom and what Gronk does ultimately will depend if Tom is coming back. If Gronk had said, I’m done then Brady must be done.

  16. SufferingSince76 Says:

If I drank even half that I would never get out of the toilet.

  18. Listnfrmafar Says:

Thisisyouryear@ you are 100% correct, if Brady has intentions of coming back Gronk knows and he will resign unless Bucs ask for the home town discount, then he goes to Buffalo. If Brady plays for the Bucs he wants Gronk! The whole BA loves Gabbert thing is to throw Brady off to make him believe if he comes back they haven’t invested much in a QB. Once they Bucs push the button on a QB that comes with a price tag, Brady then has some leverage. Until then 80 for Brady.

  19. Longtime Brady Fan Says:

The quality of your unimpeded electron flow in your body is your health. Unimpeded electron flow = normal cell communication = normal cell behavior = health. The unadvertised benefits of the TB12 method is unimpeded electron flow from hydration, electrolytes and muscle plyability. When you have specific electron blockages you get specific diseases due to cell miscommunication = cell malfunction = disease.

  20. SPARKY Says:

Brady might be on to something. When I was in high school years ago, my buddies and me would drink as many beers as we could without going to the bathroom. Than you would take bets on if you could piss a beer bottle full. Now that I think about it, I was in better shape then.

  21. Brandon Says:

Scientifically speaking, it doesn’t matter. 100 oz or 200 oz. It’s the same. The biggest difference is the amount of time spent in the teat room. Your body is constantly striving to stay in homeostasis. What goes in, must come out. Once you are hydrated, you can’t become more hydrated. Your body will find a way to excrete excess water. Unless the person is in a constant active state in a hot climate, there is zero need for excessive water.

  22. Listnfrmafar Says:

Sparky or Spark Plug? Beer bottle openings aren’t very big. We used to call it iron balls contest. Not the best game for your kidneys.

  23. Rod Munch Says:

I do the same thing, except it’s Sprite and Monster Energy drinks.

    Water intoxication!
