“Educated Hunch” Tom Brady Returns Within Two Years
February 28th, 2022For some reason, NBC super insider Peter King was moved to type in his must-skim weekly column today that Tom Brady is a candidate to the return to the football field.
King is not one to throw one of his scones against the wall and see what happens.
An “educated hunch” (King’s words) tells him not to surprised if “sometime in the next year or two Brady says he wants to play football again.”
For those unaware, the Bucs hold Brady’s playing rights, just like the Colts hold Andrew Luck’s rights.
If Brady wants to play for a team other than Tampa Bay, then the Bucs would have to make that happen.
Joe sure hopes Team Glazer clings to those rights the way Joe cradles a Big Storm beer on a summer afternoon.

Agreed…. unlike giving Rich McKay away to a division rival for no compensation. But the Glazers were grateful to McKay for helping them get a stadium and it had NOTHING to do with McKay knowing where the bodies were buried.

We had to give up a 4th rounder for Gronk….I would think Brady would be worth at least a 3rd….

Jesus give the Brady returning stories a rest. A hunch, a guess, yeah Joe, King is throwing do do against the wall. Try reporting about the Bucs, this Brady returns saga needs to end.

I think we only hold his playing rights for next year. Correct me if I am wrong. That means if he sits out next year, he can come back in a couple of years, a free man.
The interesting option that has popped up since the loss by Fox of Troy Aikman is Brady is gonna be pursued to take his place~!
Brady to the Broadcast Booth~!

At 47 Brady decides to come back? I don’t understand why it’s so hard to except after 20 plus years in the league, he will be 45 this year, that he decided he had done enough and retired. I just dont see him coming back for any reason he looks to have moved on wish everyone else would.
February 28th, 2022 at 8:25 am
I am pretty sure they own his rights for one season if he decides to return to the game. Are we really to believe he is going to turn it back on at 46? I know he’s defied all odds but he is losing quickness every year he gets older. This would open the opportunity for him to plummet and hurt his legacy like Favre and Marino. If he doesn’t turn up somewhere this season, he is really done. His goal was to play until 45 and if 49ers trade Jimmy G they set up perfect for him. Lance one season studying from the best is priceless. Gronk goes to Miami or the Chargers, maybe Vegas.

Stick a fork in the Brady rumors. He is done. Well done.
February 28th, 2022 at 8:38 am
Even if he returns a year from now, he’s not going to the 49ers. So what people are suggesting is Trey Lance starts this year and then is benched his 3rd year? Do you know how detrimental that is to a rookie QB? And then they gotta make a decision his 4th year.
Yeah I don’t see that happening, Brady is not going to the 49ers now or after this year, he’s done.

These so called sports experts need to give it a rest. Hes going to Hollywood and make movies his days of football are over.
February 28th, 2022 at 8:53 am
Anonymous, of all the coaches in this league to you really think Shanahan could give two shats about how Lance feels? He played Garapolo for two seasons basically telling him we don’t want you. That’s an easy one, hey Trey
you’re about to get a Doctrine in Qbing, sit tight this season then the job is yours. It’s either that or 49ers take a step back this season because Lance ain’t that good.

When Barry Sanders and Megatron both retired from Detroit they were still under contract to the Lions.
If either of them wanted to unretire, the only team they could play for was the Lions because they still held their rights under contract.
That fact, plus the fact that Detroit made them pay back their signing bonus because they didn’t fulfill the terms of the entire contract are the reasons why there was and still is bad blood between the Lions and two of their greatest players of all time.

No 45 year old is taking a year or two off from the NFL then coming back, not even Brady.
February 28th, 2022 at 10:33 am
Please stop beating that Brady horse to death. He ain’r comin back unless he’s real dumb..and he ain’t that. The man probably feels like he’s been tied to The Whipping Post.
February 28th, 2022 at 10:51 am
Brady said he was not willing to do what it takes physically to stay on top at 45.
Take two years off, and it is vastly more difficult.

Looks like Peter King is having a slow news cycle, too.

I was hoping the Brady Speculation Industrial Complex was losing momentum.

From the picture of PK, I have an educated hunch that he’s high as the sky.
February 28th, 2022 at 5:29 pm
For some reason, Joe is not dealing with the tragic but obvious fact that Brady wo’t play for BA. He’s waiting for a more congenial spot.
February 28th, 2022 at 5:56 pm
Dear Joe…
Thank you for sparing us that paragraph of links you often attach to the name “Peter King.”
That being said, King’s take is gutless. And if Brady is good enough to play in 2 years, he should be playing NOW in an attempt to rack up more rings.

Brady is starting to get involved in the entertainment business.
He ain’t coming back to leave the field like Joe Theisman or Steve Young and they were much younger.

Where’s your proof, Lambeau?
