From Hospital Bed, Jason Pierre-Paul Promises To “Kill Sh!t” In 2022
February 18th, 2022As you are reading this here post, free agent outside linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul is likely getting carved up.
JPP played virtually all of last season with a torn rotator cuff. How a dude can play in the NFL with that injury blows Joe’s mind. That injury absolutely robbed JPP of his ability to rush the passer. He had one sack in his last nine games including the playoffs.
It was well-known that JPP would have to go under the knife to have his shoulder repaired. Today is that day.
JPP took to his Instagram stories last night and videoed his surgeon going over what he should expect this morning and where the surgeon was going to carve open his shoulder.
In one photo was JPP lying in his hospital bed typing, “… watch me kill sh!t when I get back!!! I’m saying it now I told you so!!!!”
But will that be with the Bucs? JPP, 33, is a free agent.
Now Joe is guessing that JPP’s market value will be next to nothing this offseason. A 33-year old defensive end/outside linebacker who had a terrible year (by JPP’s standards) who needed surgery? Good luck breaking a bank.
Could the Bucs be able to give JPP another shot at a rock-bottom discount?

I hope it is with the Bucs, just at a realistic salary for his age. Regardless though, draft his replacement in the Top-3 Rnds.
February 18th, 2022 at 6:25 am
DR, JPP’s replacement was already drafted with our #1 pick last year. Sadly, if at first you don’t succeed….
Agree that we need to reload on the DL pronto.
February 18th, 2022 at 6:43 am
I believe him lol
February 18th, 2022 at 7:01 am
If bucs can get for reasonable amount …absolutely pull the trigger on keeping him. Dude is a rare cat
February 18th, 2022 at 7:18 am
Just offer him a fair salary given his age, health status, and adjusted accordingly for his locker room contributions and loyalty.
February 18th, 2022 at 7:19 am
And get well soon, JPP. You have been a great player for this team and an inspiration for a lot of people.
February 18th, 2022 at 7:22 am
OK, JPP…..Bucs should pay you $1mil per sack…..but deduct $500K when you are offsides….
10 sacks vs 4 0ffsides…..$8million bucks….that’s fair.
February 18th, 2022 at 7:37 am
TBBF funny; if only contracts could be written that way; penalties for dumb#ssery!
200k deduction for throwing into triple coverage.
100k deduction per drop.
90k deduction per missed tackle.
Flogging for calling all out blitz’s against a QB who performs excellently against them; add cutting-off of hand inside of the 1:00 mark per half!
Etc.
Results driven!!
February 18th, 2022 at 7:40 am
Dude’s a freak. Of course he’s he gonna kill it.
February 18th, 2022 at 8:15 am
Tough as nails. He will be baaack.
February 18th, 2022 at 8:20 am
Should of never been on the field, his lack of production cost this D big. No fault of his but whoever is responsible of putting him on the field basically said we can beat you with 11 players. I have a good idea who the culprits are and they’re COMING BACK, and one.is 50lbs lighter so chasing players down the sideline in anger should be easier this season. If you’re a player it’s wise to keep your helmet on to avoid Mr. Miokie’s, fatal blow.
February 18th, 2022 at 8:44 am
At the right price, for one year, sure. Unlike LVD, I don’t think he has lost a step, yet. And we can use another year to evaluate JTS.
February 18th, 2022 at 8:53 am
I haven’t found anything about this dude that I don’t like
February 18th, 2022 at 8:55 am
Evaluate JTS after he was drafted in first round?
I may be of help. Run Forrest run!!!
February 18th, 2022 at 9:00 am
Do NOT let this dude go!! He will come back to bite us in the ass in the playoffs for Green Bay or some other playoff team that will sign him in a heartbeat. He has a couple more good years left in him. Another HOF’r

For anyone who has suffered a rotator cuff injury, a strong comeback is hard to envision. If it is possible, JPP is the guy to do it.
February 18th, 2022 at 9:19 am
And he will for 2-3 games and then he’ll hurt something else.
February 18th, 2022 at 9:29 am
He seems to come back from injuries just fine so he probably be fine after this one.
February 18th, 2022 at 10:02 am
We will see how effective he will be. Many injuries, mishaps and he is not getting any younger. Hopefully he still has physical gas in the tank. Go JPP!
February 18th, 2022 at 10:25 am
We’re need to keep JPP in order to have someone on the team to kick the new QB’s a$$ when he’s not Brady-like.
February 18th, 2022 at 10:34 am
JPP’s contract:
Salary $3.5 million
Incentive Bonuses – $4.5 million
Make sure he understands he will be a rotational player only not starting. Keep his snap count below 50%…
February 18th, 2022 at 10:43 am
He was awesome during 2020-2021 season before the injury. I hope they keep him for one more season cause his attitude is where it needs to be. He is a big part of the defense and gave his all this last season with injuries. I hope everyone who suffered injuries gets all necessary surgeries and therapy to come back as a injury free team next season. Good luck to jpp I hope he heals and comes back stronger.
February 18th, 2022 at 10:53 am
If he comes back healthy, healthy by his standards, I would take him back in a heartbeat. He works very well with Gholston and Shaq.
The man is a warrior. And if he is determined to come back and have one or two more really good years, by all means sign him
February 18th, 2022 at 11:15 am
Love my JPP. He being miked up in SBLV was priceless.
February 18th, 2022 at 11:24 am
1 year, $4 million. Welcome Back OLD Man!!!
February 18th, 2022 at 11:35 am
Biff Barker … ‘JPP’s replacement was already drafted with our #1 pick last year’.
We’re still 1 OLB/DE short. We need at least 4 total: Shaq, JTS, Nelson, and ???. Even if we re-sign JPP (and I hope we do as a part-time player), then we should still draft a OLB/DE. And ya, a DT to go along with him. We’ve got to get younger on the DLine.
February 18th, 2022 at 12:14 pm
He came back from a broken neck.
Don’t ever doubt this God.
I say we let him heal and sign him to a 3 year deal.
Honor him. Let him retire a Buc. He is as amazing as Julius Peppers.
JPP could play until 40.
I want him in the rotation. Let Joe start games 1-8. Let JPP heal.
And let JPP join the rotation starting in week 9.
Retain JPP! He’s earned it!
February 18th, 2022 at 12:26 pm
I hope we keep him, maybe offer incentives if he can regain his form. His attitude alone is worth keeping him on the team IMO.
February 18th, 2022 at 12:34 pm
This is what I call a “mixed bag”! JPP’s value goes beyond the production on the field. However, he should’ve played far less than he did. I think it set the defense back further because he couldn’t tackle. Tackling is kind of a thing!
If the Bucs can get him at a reasonable price and don’t try to use him full-time, I think he still has value, IMO.
February 18th, 2022 at 12:37 pm
Bucs already drafted his replacement can’t continue to develop jts if you keep jpp need to get younger and jts is stronger faster and more athletic and best of all cheaper.
February 18th, 2022 at 12:48 pm
As long as this guy still has the ability and the fire to perform, you keep him on your team. Same goes for Suh. Gotta hang on to these veteran HOF type guys and draft behind them. DRAFT TRENCHES Jason!
February 18th, 2022 at 1:02 pm
Its time to retire. Body isn’t holding up any longer. Similar to Richard Sherman.
February 18th, 2022 at 1:28 pm
No one knows how the rehab will go. The Bucs will be in training camp by the time the shoulder might be ready. If JPP prefers to return in Tampa, and the medical staff says his shoulder is mostly back to what it was pre-injury, and they haven’t filled the OLB spot with another younger player with upside, then he could return on a budget contract. Those are a lot of conditions to be met, but it could happen. With a sound shoulder there’s probably no reason he still can’t be an effective player.
That said, if we haven’t signed or drafted another OLB to round out the position before JPP is ready, I’ll be a little surprised and disappointed. JTS ought to be able to step in to start, but another quality player in the rotation is needed. If we’re in the position of hoping JPP returns, the front office isn’t doing its job.
February 18th, 2022 at 2:31 pm
A man who played thru all that pain? Nope..I don’t doubt him for one minute. He will terrorize offenses next season just to say, I told you so. Pay the Man.
February 18th, 2022 at 2:32 pm
Hang in there JPP:therapy will be rough the first two months ,but it will. Get better,The Buc’s would be foolish to let this buy get away!
February 18th, 2022 at 2:47 pm
The Buc’s just need to resign him!
