Team Glazer famously mandated that Bucco Bruce Arians take an extensive physical exam before he was to be given the Buccaneers head coaching job.
It was a wise move for an older coach that had battled serious health problems before retiring in 2018.
Joe’s been told that Arians’ physical is an annual affair, and it seems like he’s determined to get his grade up to a “B.”
Arians chatted with his teenage hometown newspaper this week for their check-in with the pride of York, Pennsylvania. It seems Arians has been on fire with his diet and already met his spring goal.
So after winning a Super Bowl and visiting the White House, the York High grad promised to lose 50 pounds by the spring of 2022.
He’s already gotten there — with one catch.
He blew out his Achilles tendon doing it.
Arians’ wife was quoted in the story saying her man is energized and all-in when it comes to football, and it sure seemed like Mrs. Arians is very happy about it (unlike a certain supermodel Joe can think of).
“I think football keeps you healthy. I think getting back to the game was the best medicine for me,” Bruce Arians said.
Maybe Arians really has two or three more seasons in him? He turns 70 in October.

Maybe Mrs. Arians can discuss with Geezella Horseface how a real relationship is supposed to work, and how stir crazy BA got when he didn’t have his passion to pursue.
Forcing someone to give up their passion for your own selfish reasons is a recipe for the glue factory. Once Geezella develops hoof in mouth, Tom will drop her for a young beautiful and brilliant alternative quicker than you can say “hutt.”

If I were Arians and fancied myself a quarterback guru I’d like to win a Super Bowl with my own quarterback, a guy I developed. Winning by bringing in Tom Brady for a season is not all that impressive.

Arians is a head coach in name only. A HC who isn’t willing to coach his coaches, has already mailed it in. Not to worry though. His antiquated and QB unfriendly offense will be back in full force next year. Get ready to see the picks flow like wine, or in BAs case blended whiskey.

I hope BA doesn’t repeat the mistakes of last year.
Firing AB right before the playoffs while Godwin was hurt and running (limping) onto the feild to beat A. Adams over the head were both idiotic, short sighted and selfish things to do…
Not what I would expect from a sound minded coach who is focused on winning a Super Bowl.

I am closing in on 70, and can tell you that staying healthy at this age is not easy.
The body does tend to literally fall apart once we pass 65.
I like Bruce Arians, and am proud of all the weight he lost!
Losing weight is never easy, especially as we get older.

i don’t understand…when did BA lose 50 pounds?…only a few weeks ago he was on the sidelines and had a big bulky midsection, not like in the accompanying pic…
i’m not making fun or anything, but did he lose it when jameis was here and has since gained it back?

Seriously, 70 isn’t that old… Lots of people have health scares in their 60’s, make an effort to get healthier and manage to keep going strong for a while. BA is still sharp, no evidence of mental slowdown, and if he’s energized and enthusiastic about coaching, then who knows? He’s certainly got a lot of help to take the pressure off him. Just got to find a QB.

Yep…Giselle earned $400 million….modeling, not running the Kentucky Derby.
As far as the Arians lost 50 pounds…….30 of it was the giant $hit he took when AB left…..I’ll give him credit for the other 20.

No evidence of mental slowdown, still sharp? If you consider BA “sharp” Ben would love to see your examples of a dull coach sasquatch. He’s not half the coach he once was, and not so sure the full BA was much of a coach anyway. He’s a glorified coordinator who’s team hasn’t been running his offense for quite a while now. Ben prays for whoever the QB is. It’s back to no risk it, no biscuit, win or lose we booze.

A proper head coach should be able to be successful well into his 70’s. In the true spirit of a head coach, you aren’t relied upon to run the offense or defense. That’s what your coordinators should be trusted to do. The head coach simply has to lead the team as a whole and make sure the coordinators and position coaches are keeping their heads on straight.

How so? Bringing in Brady for a season and winning the Super Bowl is something many coaches can do. It’s not out of the ordinary. Similar to Jerry Jones bringing in his drinking buddy Barry Switzer to take over the loaded 1990s Cowboys and winning a Super Bowl. Big deal. My dog could have coached that team to a Super Bowl win.

Ben’s pant size is 32 36, and I love Jeannie reruns. Nobody hotter Barbara Eden and her 2000 year old body. Ben especially likes the ones when she deals with her evil twin, Jeannie two. Ben is also fond of Gilligan, and bewitched. The lovely Liz Montgomery died to soon. As to which Darren, Dick York is first and best. Dick Sargent couldn’t act his way outta a wet paper bag. I agree about trashing Ms Brady. That’s just wrong and shows no class. That’s the stuff Saint’s fans do. We’re better than that. I’m thankful to her because we got 2 years with TB12 and I’m sure Tampa never would have been a destination without her blessing. And she’s still gorgeous.
