Tom Brady’s Best Games
February 13th, 2022Typing for BSPN, Aaron Schatz, the shot-caller of Football Outsiders, decided to break down statistically (of course) the top 50 games from former Bucs quarterback Tom Brady during his 22-year career.
And despite Brady only playing two seasons with the Bucs, Schatz believes three of Brady’s best games came in the 2020 Super Bowl-winning season.
The highest Bucs game for Brady was one Schatz ranked No. 33, a 45-20 win over the Raiders in Las Vegas. Schatz has this game rated the highest for Brady with the Bucs, despite acknowledging the Raiders were horrible at pass defense that season.
Stats: 33-43, 369 Yards, 4 TD, 0 INT
Brady started out with a 1-yard QB sneak touchdown, then threw touchdown passes to Gronkowski, Scott Miller, Godwin and Tyler Johnson. … Brady threw 43 passes against a Raiders defense that finished the season 26th in pass defense DVOA (and dead last against the pass on third down).
What was interesting to Joe was that was the game where Brady put to bed anyone claiming he struggled throwing the long ball when he threw a dime to Scotty Miller in the end zone down the left sideline.
And if anyone needed to be reminded if Brady still had that gun of an arm, on virtually the exactly same play Brady hit Miller again in the end zona in the final seconds of the first half in the NFC Championship game in what turned out to be the difference in the game.
Joe still gets stoked thinking of that play.
The Bucs are still defending champs until about 10 p.m. tonight. Enjoy it while it lasts Bucs fans.

Brady will not be remembered for having a great day against the Rams last month, but considering the lack of Wirfs and Leftwurst’s abandonment of the run game, and the fact that Brady was getting pressured and pummeled, and the 27-3 deficit….
That was one of his finest games ever.
Thanks, Todd.

Very glad that, basically, Bowels of Todd said, “Well, we’ll let Cooper Kupp beat us. What could go wrong?”

Thanks, Todd.

I don’t know, coming back against the Rams to tie the game is pretty good considering Bucs played with a skelton offense and a UNPREPARED lazy coaching staff. That’s pretty hard to do. Most NFL QB’s would want to retire after that debacle. Oh wait?

Joe, let me finish that headline for you: Tom Brady’s best games . . . are yet to come.
Swampbuc – You are not the only one that can’t let go of that Rams game debacle. The Bucs only scored 3 points in the first half because Brady was getting hurried up the middle. Should have added a lineman or two and sent out fewer receivers. Given time Brady would have found the open man.
Listnfrmafar – I believe that your assessment is correct about so many injured players and poor coaching. However, in the final analysis, people will only remember the game as a loss.

People will only remember this – the Bucs tied the game with 42 seconds left in a furious comeback. They had all the momentum. The coin toss in OT goes the Bucs way and it’s a win. But instead, the Bowels of Todd released in front of the whole world. Todd let it all go.
I won’t let go. Never.
Brady and the Bucs were robbed by incompetence and ineptitude by the Defensive Coordinator at the most critical point in the whole season. How pathetic.
How are those head coaching opportunities shaking out, Todd? Oh, wait.

For Ben, Brady best game was a regular season performance. October 25, 2007. Brady was 21-25 for 354 six TD’s. Three incompletions were outright drops. Never in Ben’s life has he witnessed such mastery of the QB position. Brady and the Patriots typically played like dog poop in Miami, not that afternoon
