“If Aaron Rodgers Wins This, Tom Brady Got Snubbed, He Got Robbed.”

February 10th, 2022

“Robbed” tonight?

Tonight is the night we find out if the Bucs had an MVP on their roster.

Tonight is the “NFL Honors” show. It’s the NFL’s attempt to have an Academy Awards-type show in primetime where they invite every half-arsed, two-bit yet hot actress and a handful of actors who want to be football players to show up in tuxedos and evening gowns and maybe rub elbows with NFL stars.

Given that this ceremony/manufactured TV show will take place in Los Angeles, expect a lot of babes to show up.

OK, fine. As Joe typed that last paragraph, Joe was mentally surfing through his DirecTV guide trying to find a college hoops game to watch.

Joe has been saying this for a few weeks: The NFL MVP award is flawed. Greatly. It’s really not the MVP. It’s the best player in the regular season.

For example, last year was there any doubt who the most valuable player was in the NFL? It was Brady, case closed. Arguing anything else is just dumb and narrow-minded. But it went to Aaron Rodgers because he led the Packers to the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

Same will likely happen this year if you listen to those in the know. Great, the league’s MVP is a choke artist. Nice.

Statistically, Brady blew Rodgers away. But perhaps because of Brady Fatigue (a real thing), voters appear to be leaning toward choke artist Rodgers once again. #Sad

On “Good Morning Football” today, seen weekday mornings on the NFL Network, the gang debated Brady vs. Rodgers. Notorious Eagles girl and Bucs hater, fetching Colleen Wolfe, naturally sides with Rodgers while mocking Brady’s interceptions.

Shaun O’Hara knocks it out of the park for Joe.

“If Aaron Rodgers wins this, Tom Brady got snubbed, he got robbed,” O’Hara said.

This award really shouldn’t be voted on before the Super Bowl. It’s a flawed award.

You can see the full discussion in the NFL Network video below.

  1. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Tom was undoubtedly our MVP & that’s what counts…..

They may give it to Tom as a parting gift or was the vote before he announced?

  2. Bqen green Says:

The last MVP to win the superbowl was indoor QB and former bag boy Curt Warner. Not sure why, but it is telling. Part of the problem is how much more important QBs have become. You can’t win unless you have a very good/great one. Ben can tell you this, Brady could give a hoot. The only MVP he’s interested in is Superbowl MVP. Perhaps Brady’s greatest season was 2010. He did win the award that year, and the Patriots got humiliated at home against the Jets.

  3. Robert Says:

AR or TB should not even be a question.

  4. BuucccNASTY Says:

Hate to sound like this, but she has no place on that stage.. after you just said Tom had the best stats and much more impressive post-season, she jumps on Arod like he’s not the biggest choke artist in the history of hall of fame QBs..

  5. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Joe Burrow and Cooper Kuup should be in the conversation as well; take Burrow off the Bengals and where are they?

  6. Rod Munch Says:

I got money on Brady for MVP – so I’m 100% behind him and OUTRAGED that anyone would consider anyone else.

  7. PassingThru Says:

It should be a two-horse race: Tom Brady vs. Cooper Kupp. Both had historic seasons. Aaron Rodgers? The only thing special about his season was his TD to INT ratio. Yet Rodgers will get more votes than either Brady or Kupp, largely because many NFL writers function like the walls of an echo chamber.

  8. Proud Bucs Fan Says:

Brady should get the MVP, who had to drag his sloppy and undisciplined head coach around!!!

  9. Juergensen Says:

Rodgers has two strikes against him for not obeying Dr. Nauzi.

  10. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Cooper Cupp in my mind is as deserving of this award as anyone.
The Rams would not be where they are now w/o him.

  11. acey Says:

To be honest, there should be some kind of award that only takes the regular season into account so amazing players stuck on terrible teams can get some recognition. That being said, the solution is probably to move MVP, OPOY, DPOY, and the others to right before the Super Bowl, while introducing positonal awards like Best TE at the end of the regular season.

  12. Jeff Says:

Unfortunately, Arians and his loosey goosey coaching style completely Turned Off Brady. Amazing Brady was able to win anything with this team. It’s a testament to his greatness.

  13. Listnfrmafar Says:

To think all those balls that bounced off players heads, hands, face masks, whatever cost him. Do they take into consideration Brady’s receiving core were primarily back ups. Colleen is just jealous of Giselle and her panties are in a bunch. I trust O’Hara, he’s a legit player the others are fluff. I love it when Burleson asks Kyle if he’s been shopping at Baby Gap when he wears his size medium t-shirts.

  14. allbuccedup Says:

Don’t forget the Bucs were 7-9 without Brady. The so called QB whisperer was going to turn around Jameis. Looks to me Sean Payton is more of a QB whisperer than BA. But maybe that title has passed BA by he will just smack you in the head if you don’t listen.

  15. SufferingSince76 Says:

How can he not win? He was absolutely hands down the most valuable player on his team. He overcame a depleted roster and some questionable play calling to take the Bucs within minutes of the NFC championship game. He just ran out of time. Without Brady, that doesn’t happen.

  16. SufferingSince76 Says:

Stop it, Jeff. Brady knew exactly what type of team he was going to. Don’t make him out to be clueless.

  17. Rayjay1122 Says:

TBH, a few weeks ago I cared about who wins MVP but then there was a retirement. Now, I really do not care who wins it. Has zero impact on my life or the Bucs at this point.

  18. Listnfrmafar Says:

Rayjay, the fair weather fan. Took your team from zero to hero, made Tampa ALL kinds of money and you diss him because he still has the drive but others in the Bucs organization do not. He will probably lose the MVP becuase the voters will think they won a SB due to the Bucs elite coaching staff. Sorry TB12, BA needs to share the wealth. At some point in your lives did any of you work or work for
a man or woman that did squat but always took the credit for others work? See where I’m going here?

  19. Fejj Revwal Says:

I have no problem with Brady winning it this year. Last year, not so much. His defense is the biggest reason the team got hot at the right time. He rode them
to another title, not the other way around. He had a terrible 2nd half against
Green Bay, throwing 3 pics. His D bailed him out in that one, keeping Rodgers
from cashing in on 2 of those turnovers. It also harried Mahomes in the Super Bowl so bad, the Chiefs only scored 9 points.

  20. Tampabaybucfan Says:

The only playoff game that Belichick has won without Tom Brady remains the 1994 Wild Card game for the Cleveland Browns against the Patriots, when Vinny Testaverde was his starting quarterback.

Belechick has never won a SB without Tom Brady……so, let’s go ahead and give Brady the credit for ours.

  21. Swampbuc Says:

A case could be made for Cooper Kupp.

  22. BA4President Says:

Joe, my big question is… is the NFL Honors live? In years past it was not live and spoilers on the sports websites ruined the whole show.

Also, do we find out if Ronde got into the HOF tonight??

  23. Oneilbuc Says:

    Forget Brady!!!

  24. Joe Says:

On Ronde Barber, yet it will be announced tonight during the NFL Honors ceremony.

Always thought it was aired live on NFL Network since it is such a big production. Joe has no clue if it is live-live or if it is tape-delayed but it is scheduled to be broadcast tonight on NFL Network, after the red carpet ceremony of course (co-hosted by Kay Adams).

  25. Rayjay1122 Says:

Fair weather fan. Ok, LOL. You know me so well. I did not dis Brady and happen to have utmost respect for him, I simply stated that U no longer really care who wins MVP. Maybe in your part of the country reading comprehension is not a thing?

  26. Show Me the TDs Says:

    Give this year’s MVP award to Brady…next year. He’ll be a shoo-in

  27. steele Says:

Does anyone really care about such hot air? Sigh. I doubt Brady would get it unless the panel is going purely on sentimental. It was a tough season. And Rodgers doesn’t deserve it.

Some other guy, probably from one of the SB teams, more likely. I smell Matt Stafford, who is this year’s Peyton/Eli Manning.

Jeez, I sure want the Rams to lose.

  28. Stone crab sam Says:

Actually, Karen Rogers shouldn’t be in the mvp discussion. It’s really a Brady/Kupp discussion according to ole stone crab Sam😁

  29. Listnfrmafar Says:

Tampaxfan, c’mon he was in the organization 20 years. It was Belichick that got him to learn situational football and discipline. I’m not saying over time the Grasshopper couldn’t teach the sinsea. So what SB has BA won without Brady? Belichick in the second season with a rookie QB made the playoffs, BA couldn’t do it with a seasoned #1 draft pick QB. This is the same early on when the idiots were comparing Jamais to Brady.

  30. Stone crab sam Says:

But the nfl luvs drama queens. It give the pundits something to run their yaps about.

  31. David Says:

Absolutely. Brady is first or second and almost every single statistical category there is. The only thing Rodgers is better in are the interceptions. Brady accounted for way more of the offensive load

  32. Listnfrmafar Says:

Rayjay, in the Northeast you need a higher percentage than a 40 as a passing grade, not so much in your neck of the woods or should I say swamp.

  33. Rayjay1122 Says:

Danbury CT, Bethel, Brookfield area is the swamp. Grow up.

  34. Listnfrmafar Says:

That explains it, a Jets or Giants fan.

  35. Rayjay1122 Says:

    Bada Bing!

  36. Listnfrmafar Says:

Rayjay, then you witnessed Bowles first hand. Lawrence Academy alum here.

  37. PassingThru Says:

That’s where my wife graduated from: Lawrence Academy.

I’m totally public (ghetto) high school through and through.

  38. adam from ny Says:

being the fact that it’s so nip and tuck between tom and aaron for mvp, could tommy have pulled the retirement move to sway the vote into his corner as like a last giftature before retirement…

only to slink back out of retirement after he snags the award…

    lol…

    these things happen…

    #CouldTommyBeRunningGame

  39. adam from ny Says:

james harden and ben simmons are definitely controlling the day so far

  40. BelleGladeBuc Says:

    @Listnfrmafar

I love people from the Northeast who come onto a Florida based football site and start to speak poorly of the football fans in Florida.

The last time a Florida based team won college football’s national title was in 2013 with FSU winning the BCS Crown. I honestly can’t remember when Massachusetts has produced a National Championship on College Football’s highest level.

I know Nick Saban, Kirby Smart, Dabo Sweeney, Jim Harbaugh, Ryan Day, Jimbo Fisher, all covet Florida trained high school football talent. They talk about it all the time.

We here in Florida think football in the Northeast is a joke, and laugh at Northeasterners who think they know more about football than those of us in Florida/The South/SEC country.

Tampa Jesuit would destroy any school from Massachusetts, and they would send your Lawrence Academy Football players to the hospital.

My beloved Muck Bowl teams would defeat any team from Massachusetts, and they are tiny rural neighboring high schools.

If you have to ask you don’t know football.

Fun stat about the Muck Bowl. In the Super Bowl between the 49ers and Ravens there were five players in the game who played with or against each other in the Muck Bowl.

All of them were Florida boys, born, raised and trained in the superior football state of Florida.

I bet you couldn’t tell us which Bucs coach is considered one of the greatest offensive minds in the history of football.

Only Texas and California get to participate if you want to debate which state is best when it comes to football. Massachusetts is a joke when it comes to football. Probably better at the books than Florida, but football, which Joe Bucs Fan is all about, you all are a joke.

  41. Please Says:

Listnfrmafar – BB and TB did it together. BB was a bust in Cleveland, TB was a nobody at Michigan— this is stars aligning stuff. Like MJ and Phil. The combination created the magic.

But then again TB did win without BB, so maybe BA and TB could’ve been legendary… which I guess means it does come back to TB.

But yeah BB will probably win again with Mac Jones. 🤣🤣🤣

  42. Rod Munch Says:

What a bunch of garage. Brady and Rodgers have nearly identical QBRs, the teams finish with the same number of wins while Rodgers played one of the easiest, most cupcake schedules there was. Meanwhile Brady easily leads the league in yards and TDs.

    It was robbery.
