Tom Brady And His Impact
February 9th, 2022So Monday on his saccharine-laced podcast where paid stooge ChapStick Jim Gray is ordered to run interference for the “guest,” Tom Brady, the former (?) Bucs quarterback decided to troll all of Tampa Bay with the idea that maybe, just maybe, he’s not done with football.
(One of the Joes has the discipline and the courage to plow through that pod and listen to each and every word. The other Joe wants to barf on his kitchen floor after four minutes.)
So at Pro Bowl practice last week, Joe asked Bucs sack king Shaq Barrett what would be his lasting memory of playing with Brady. For Shaq, it is Brady’s passionate pre-game speech before the Bucs went out and manhandled the Chiefs to win the franchise’s second Super Bowl.
“The way he stepped up and said all the right stuff to get us going, like how it would be a legacy for us and our families,’ Shaq told Joe. “I will always remember that.”
It almost seems like Brady, who only played in Tampa for two (?) seasons, gave Bucs fans a lifetime of memories.
So who has made a greater impact on arrival to the Bucs? Would it be Chucky or Brady?
Chucky comes in, wins a Super Bowl right away, and later leads the Bucs to two playoff appearances before being fired.
Brady comes in, wins a Super Bowl right away, gets back to the playoffs and, well, the rest is unknown. Sure, Brady won a playoff game with the Bucs the following season (2021) before he retired (?). Will his impact last as long as Chucky’s? Only time will tell.

Jim Gray cheapshotted Pete Rose as Pete crossed home plate during MLB all 50 year team presentation.

I just dont feel we have seen the last of Brady, in the NFL.

Chucky’s impact wasn’t a good one after that first season. He went 7 years without a playoff win. Brady got a playoff win in both seasons he was here.

I still believe Chucky and Bruce Allen tore apart one of the best defenses of all time. I don’t think you could ever say Chucky was the best thing to ever happen to the Bucs.

Tom Brady is done with football in Tampa Bay…
FTFY…

Tom Brady is the greatest QB ever to play the game, and arguably just flat out the best Football player of all time, some even put in the discussion for best athlete of all time.
Therefore, he is easily the best QB and the best player to ever wear a Buccaneers uniform.
Jon Gruden isn’t even close to being in the discussion for best coach of all time and infamously just had to step down as head coach of the Raiders in under rather unflattering circumstances.
One more thing to consider, the Bucs were already a Super Bowl contender before Gruden even stepped through the door. Many believe the 1999 Bucs team that was robbed of a SB berth due to the infamous Bert Emmanuel catch that wasn’t a catch but was a catch had an even more dominant defense than the squad from 2003.
Where as Brady rescued a franchise that over a decade had to endure right sucking and losing. He took a team that despite having a talented roster, didn’t know how to win, and he won the SB with that team immediately.
Brady’s Buccaneer legacy towers over Grudens and it isn’t even close.

Brady had the biggest impact!!!
I just hope he like FLA and wants to stay. He will gt bored being away from football and may want to coach. Even having him as assistant water boy would be huge. His motivation. work ethic and drive is contagious.

He lives in Indian Creek.
He won’t coach. Way too much work for way too little pay.

Tom likes FLA and his wife loves MIAMI. Creative offense, anyone?

*Big Sigh*
I think we will prob end up trading Brady’s rights to SF for Garapolo.
I wish it wasn’t so, but if/when Brady returns to the NFL, it won’t be for the Bucs I’m pretty certain…
I feel like a part of me died

DONT Trade tom brady tell him bryan Leftwich an Todd bowls are not leaving buccaneers

Some believe that he retired because of BA and staff. At first I thought it was just family matters. Maybe it’s not.

My gut says he (Brady) is not done yet. He wanted to go to the 49er’s before coming to Tampa Bay and I think he will end up there some way. Never was a big fan of Chucky Gruden as he dismantled that entire team and the way he ruined the career of Alstot. Mike should be going to Canton but won’t get there because of the way Chucky handled him. Chucky won with Dungey’s team. Brady had players come here to play with him and took pay cuts to play here! I would have to say Brady had a bigger impact!

Brady might not be done, but he is done with Tampa. I think the AB thing was the final coffin nail. I hope he isn’t really p.o.d enough to go to Saints land to destroy us.

Really, that donkey gruden? Those defenses he had were loaded. BTW he had all the raiders play calls in the Superbowl. The bucs were calling out the fing plays!! He also had very little to do with the construction of the team. 0

Licht more likely to let Tom go to an AFC team–Broncos, Steelers, Colts, Dolphins. One has warm weather.
February 9th, 2022 at 2:34 pm
Little to do with the construction of the team apart from the TWENTY SEVEN free agents he had brought in here after he was hired. The whole “Gruden won with Dungy’s team” idea is nonsense. If Gruden won with Dungy’s team then why couldn’t Dungy win with Dungy’s team?

Brady was done with Ariens and Co.

Jimmy G and Two firsts or D lineman and a first ……. Jimmy G is a cost not an asset

Brady is & will be the GREATEST BUC EVER
NO DOUBT

So did the ‘No trade’ in Brady’s initial contract been scratched in the extension?
Much as I miss him playing, I don’t believe he has any inclination to go back on the field just yet. The ‘never say never’ is just a realistic response. That’s the truth about life because no one knows what’s ahead. People who say never are either trying to convince themselves or really abhor things from happening – just extremes, no in betweens.
Coaching? I don’t think he will either. He’s too competitive to stay in the sidelines and watch plays that he would’ve executed differently. It’s going to frustrate him.
February 9th, 2022 at 8:54 pm
Chucky benefitted greatly by getting to play his former team and Bill Callahan, still using all the same plays he created. Chucky and the Bucs knew the plays better than the Raiders did. A SB win is a SB win, but I will always look at that one as an asterisk.

Brady has too many businesses to run and investments to manage. These investments bring in a whole lot more cash than coaching and he doesn’t have to put in 90-hour workweeks. Remember, Brady got out of football to spend more time with his family. Coaches put in more hours away from home than players.

Chucky’s legacy was allowing the roster to decay because he and his hand-picked GM were idiots. Chucky is as responsible as anyone for the decade of despair. The Glazers didn’t help.

HC Grover Says:
February 9th, 2022 at 2:46 pm
Well, please substantiate. So far, a few people have been throwing out this idea without evidence. Do you have any?
February 10th, 2022 at 10:56 pm
The reason the roster started to decay was all the picks we gave up for Meshawn and Chucky.
