Bucs Receivers Rattled Jalen Ramsey
February 2nd, 2022Joe’s research uncovered something that made Joe headbutt his keyboard.
Sometimes, you have to laugh to refrain from crying.
Back in last week’s playoff loss to the Rams, cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who likes to boast he is the best corner in the game (and he’s not exactly wrong) often went up against Mike Evans. The two had a nice little battle going.
While Ramsey mostly had success, the Bucs’ stud receiver racked up 88 yards on Ramsey. Joe will let the good folks of NextGen Stats detail the rest.
Jalen Ramsey aligned across from Mike Evans on 36 of 52 routes (69% shadow rate).
Ramsey was successful on 7 of 9 targets as nearest defender vs Evans, but allowed his most receiving yards (88) to a player since Week 17, 2017 (Antonio Brown: 100 yards).#RamsHouse | #GoBucs pic.twitter.com/3JFA7Z0Ce8

Man, what could have been.
And yeah, Joe’s laughing. Otherwise, Joe would be crying.

Tom Brady’s last TD ever was scored as Ramsey got burned by Evans.
Thing of beauty
February 2nd, 2022 at 4:42 pm
If only we had both of them, we’d be in the super bowl
February 2nd, 2022 at 4:42 pm
Why the pick of A. Brown then?
Stupid
February 2nd, 2022 at 4:43 pm
There is NO team in the NFL that could possibly cover Evan’s, Gronk, Godwin and Brown. The problem was they were never on the field together. That’s a ALL MADDEN offense.

I know And I am FSU alum but Ramsey talks too much for not being Deion
He will forever be shown getting BURNT on Bradys’ last TD Pass a 50 yd Dime to Mile Evans. So glad i was there to see it
February 2nd, 2022 at 4:54 pm
yup ,,,had we had both AB & Evans —-we’d be going to the SB.
Thanx Bucci

Brown was Brady’s ultimate insurance for Evans or Godwin going down, however its hard to say if we beat the Rams though with Brown playing. Folks forget we had Brown and Evans against the Jets and were struggling. Once again, we didn’t come alive until the 2nd half. This is my complaint with Leftwich….our offense was sputtering against terrible teams when it was loaded. We never got anything going until Brady went “hurry up”….at that point Brady is running the show. I would love to see Jax run “hurry up” with Lawrence and see how effective of an OC Leftwich is.
IMO..if Brown hadn’t imploded and was still an option for the Bucs this offseason, I think Brady might have given it another run. Our cap is limited and i dont know how you pay Godwin and Evans $20 million each, that just doesn’t seem like a good allocation of the cap.

he got roasted By Evans
February 2nd, 2022 at 5:06 pm
How could Ramsey have been successful on 7 of the 9 targets, if Mike had 4 receptions on those 9 targets?
Some statistical gobely-gook about what “success” means, I’m sure…
February 2nd, 2022 at 5:13 pm
So Evans burned Ramsey. He’s still in the Super Bowl and Mike isn’t. Bet he’d trade that burn for the Super Bowl in a heartbeat
February 2nd, 2022 at 5:18 pm
Let’s not mention AB anymore. He’s a pariah and should not be acknowledged
February 2nd, 2022 at 5:30 pm
If, yes if……there are several other fan bases saying this word……..Buffalo, KC, GB, SF…….if.
Going forward, we still use it…..If we get Rodgers, if Trask can succeed…..
Joe makes a good living off of if……..and it usually comes in the form of a question-mark.
February 2nd, 2022 at 5:39 pm
Thise saying we’d be in SB if we had AB and ME. Think if defense covered Kupp we’d be in SB. Defense failed us, not offense
February 2nd, 2022 at 5:39 pm
Bills and Bucs lost in last minute due to not playing a good prevent D and giving up big plays. Leslie Frazier and Todd Bowles who were both Tampa D Coordinators.
February 2nd, 2022 at 5:51 pm
Bobby M, Gronk got injured.
February 2nd, 2022 at 6:19 pm
AB has a major flaw–he can’t either get on the field or stay on the field great when healthy and on the field but that is very rare he is as done as Brady just memories now and nothing more
February 2nd, 2022 at 7:21 pm
The one bright spot looking at the Bucs divisional loss to the Rams: At least the Bucs scored a 55-yard dagger TD against the “best” NFL corner, to bring the score to within 7. That was a magnificent play.
February 2nd, 2022 at 7:23 pm
And if I do declare, (I do declare, I do!) – that was the best play of the last 2 years. Why, I do indeed declare.
With reticence, I do declare: GO BUCS!!

Ramsey talks to get himself motivated. He always gives props to other great players. He told Mike after the game you got me and that Evans was baller. He told Brady he was the goat and its always a pleasure to compete against him. He isn’t as arrogant as people think. The trash talk is for himself and not to be disrespectful. Brady will scream on the sideline to get himself pumped up. Everyone has their thing.
February 2nd, 2022 at 7:36 pm
Good call Foghorn.
February 2nd, 2022 at 7:54 pm
I’m quite confident Ramsey’s trash talk is meant to be disrespectful.
February 2nd, 2022 at 9:12 pm
I expect Mike to have at worst a good game against anyone. Problem with the Rams game is that Kupp made our secondary look silly. Bowles called a bad game and our secondary is overrated.
February 2nd, 2022 at 9:23 pm
DB’s are important no doubt. But a tough offensive line makes their jobs almost impossible. When given time Brady was able to hit his receivers regardless.
By the same token the DB’s looked good when the D line had the QB running for his life. It’s a pretty easy game to figure out where you build your team.
February 2nd, 2022 at 9:32 pm
I’m hoping JaMarr Chase makes fools out of that Rams secondary.
February 2nd, 2022 at 9:57 pm
How much better would Mikes numbers be if he played with a consistent QB for the majority of his career.
I hope whoever our QB is next year clicks with Mike from day one and we can watch Mike pull a Larry and play for another 10 years.
My guess is Mike will be able to rack up 1000 yard seasons with ease if he keeps getting QBs that just throw him the dam ball..
Brady frustrated the hell out of me because he was so reluctant to trust Mike. It seemed to me that him and Brady just started to click and Brady went and QUIT on the team in the final year of his contract. JUST LIKE HIS BFF Ahole Brown.

sweet… jr is a dk
February 2nd, 2022 at 11:28 pm
Why is crazy head’s ugly mug still appearing here when he’s been gone, hates us and is no longer relevant?
February 3rd, 2022 at 1:27 am
Cleanhouse
Doubt it. They may be in the Super Bowl if Wirfs did not get injured. They may be in the Super Bowl if JPP (& SUH) did not play like a shell of him self most this year because of injuries
