“I Don’t Know What Different Intentions Are” (Tom Brady Talk Part II)
January 31st, 2022A one-liner from Tom Brady tonight gave Joe a glimmer of hope that The Goat will once again command the Buccaneers’ huddle.
Brady hopped on his weekly SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio show and was asked if the flood of Saturday media reports that claimed he is retiring crossed a line.
Did they “overstep the boundaries” by reporting on your decision before it’s been made, Tommy?
Mr. Seven Rings previously said he understands the crazy age of media, but he answered as follows:
“No, I don’t know what different intentions are, and again it’s, you know, it’s not for me to control those things,” Brady said.
“So, you know, there’s some very important games going on the weekend, and I know how hard those players work on Sunday to prepare for that. You know I was actually a little bit, you know, disappointed [retirement reports] would actually play some part of what’s going on in NFL football, which to me has been such an amazing sport and it’s a great sport. The focus should be on those great games. So you’re right, it was, for me, I was trying to enjoy a nice weekend, it didn’t quite turn that way because my phone got really busy. But that’s just part of being in the situation I’m in.”
Brady went on to say he has no timeline for a decision on playing next season, but he understands that his call affects a lot of people.
“I’m not going to race to some conclusion on that,” Brady said firmly.
As for the notion that he might be motivated to keep playing because people are saying he’s done, Brady laughed that off and said his drive comes from within.
Asked if he’d like a drink because it sounds like he needs one, Brady laughed and said he doesn’t drink much but might consider drinking more. “Maybe I might take it up after, you know, things down the road.”
Joe was especially intrigued by the “I don’t know what different intentions are” line from Brady. Joe’s not sure if the phrasing there represents that Brady was surprised to hear finality on a decision he’s yet to make.
That would be encouraging.

He is going to the 49ers to finish his career or he’s retiring.
January 31st, 2022 at 9:27 pm
Nothing is decided until Tom Brady says it is……
January 31st, 2022 at 9:29 pm
This is encouraging. It basically erases all the mediot noise of the past days. He will decide when he decides, and not a second earlier.

“…might consider drinking more. “Maybe I might take it up after, you know, things down the road.”
That was more intriguing to me…

There is one thing for sure, Tom has finalized nothing yet.
So all the NFL insiders that are in feeding frenzy can subside at least for a week or 2 lol
This is exactly what TB Senior said lol
It aint over til its over……
To continued?????????????????
Don’t touch that dial, same Bat time on the Same Bat Channel. lololol

People in the media are making plans about Bradys future, reminds me of the last scene of Godfather 2 Tom says to Michael ” Mikey, do you know how many times your father and I have talked about your future ?”
January 31st, 2022 at 9:47 pm
Seems like some people are still holding out hope still sounds like he is retiring to me guess we will see in the next coming weeks drafting Trask when they did makes alot more sense to me now.
January 31st, 2022 at 9:50 pm
However when Jim asked him if he wanted a drink from all this, he said something like:
[I don’t drink much but maybe it’s something I’ll take up when this is all over… ::pregnant pause:: … whenever that is…]
Go back and listen to that, it’s almost like he was saying he is ready to go into retirement and live more like a normal person.
I don’t want him to go, but that portion about having a drink… there is something there….

How is he “going to the 49ers” exactly?

The Titans need to sell out to get Tom on board. The lack of focus and discipline on the Bucs this season frustrated him and did them in. The lack of elite QB play limits what the Titans can be in an AFC crowded with young, near-elite QBs. Vrabel and Tom know and respect each other’s approach to the game, and the Titans are a blue-collar, physical team that will keep them in every game they play, which means Brady has a chance to be the difference maker in every game he plays, and he success at that is why he’s the Goat. Titans or no, I think being able to step into a situation where the team culture from both the players and the head coach and even ownership aligns with Tom, and the talent to execute, is what would energise him at this point in his career. I think this year with the Bucs must have been so frustrating, knowing they should have been playing like a well-oiled machine starting week 1 with all 22 starters returning, and.. they never had the focus the way Tom has it.

The going to the 49ers narrative is the most insipid thing I’ve been hearing lately. He’s playing for us or he’s retiring. The mechanics of him actually going to the 49ers is colossally unrealistic. They just drafted their quarterback of the future and they have a guy that just took him to the championship game. Then they’re going to drop everything to grab a 45-year-old quarterback for a year? So silly.

Sounds to me like brady is in if the roster is great.
January 31st, 2022 at 10:05 pm
Brady dont want to go thru contract restructure. Hes done with all that. Theres other young player that can sacrifice.
January 31st, 2022 at 10:06 pm
D. Smith. M evans. Ali marpet. Shaq … sacrifice and provide cap space. Lets sign players to compete for SB.
January 31st, 2022 at 10:14 pm
Brady was never going to the 49ers..2 years ago or for the 22 season. That was never his plan because of his oldest son. He was always staying on the East Coast.

If Licht is the good gm some think he is, he better be on the phone and shopping the average and overpaid O-line! Makes trades for picks before they are exposed. Brady made the O-Line better than it was. Brady has retired, and if the GM acts quickly and decisively he can cut years off of the rebuild.

What will be, will be!… Just let us know when you know and YES!… Now we know that the 3 main reports for NFL are now much less credible!
January 31st, 2022 at 11:04 pm
Bucs viability is hanging by a thread of hope that he comes back.

“Middle Of The Road”
The middle of the road is trying to find me
I’m standing in the middle of life with my plans behind me
Well I got a smile for everyone I meet
As long as you don’t try dragging my bay
Or dropping the bomb on my street
Now come on baby
Get in the road
Oh come on now
In the middle of the road, yeah
In the middle of the road you see the darndest things
Like fat guys driving ’round in jeeps through the city
Wearing big diamond rings and silk suits
Past corrugated tin shacks full up with kids
Oh man I don’t mean a hampstead nursery
When you own a big chunk of the bloody third world
The babies just come with the scenery

Yup! I see a sliver of hope.
Brady come back!
Ev’ry Bucs fan can see…
We are lost
And the Bucs can’t win without you.

I won’t forget for a long time having seen Tom Brady in a totally sloshed state being helped off a boat by a teammate after last year’s celebration. LOL 😚 🤪 😴 😇
Meanwhile I will await his decision … after the Super Bowl is over with this year.

Brady family is worth like $700 million when it comes to some kind of $14 million bonus. GOAT has class which is another reason he’s the GOAT. He’d give it up for hiz boyz still on the team. The longer, the better. That did sound great coming from GOAT mouth instead of BSPN azz.
January 31st, 2022 at 11:39 pm
It’s a while before free agent period starts. He’ll make an announcement by then
February 1st, 2022 at 12:23 am
isn’t he under contract with the bucs, if so it would have to be a yrade to 49ers.
i guess the trade could be worked out but he cant just go sign with them.
February 1st, 2022 at 1:05 am
Everyone saying he’s going to the 49ers… so y’all not understand that there’s such a thing as a contract? And that even if he retires and I retires, the Bucs will still have exclusive rights to him playing NFL football? How y’all think we got Gronk? Gronk came out of retirement and we had to trade the Patriots to get him here to Tampa. So unless the 49ers are prepared to give us a king’s ransom for Brady… it’s either he retires or he’s a Buccaneer til the end of his contract.

If Brady declared that he would play another two years or more, then the idea of him considering going to a new team, or tolerating anything like a rebuild, or learning a new playbook, or a new set of coaches, might be possible. Have you heard anything along these lines, besides “he thinks about playing until 45”?
Forget the 49ers. They are committed to Trey Lance, period. Lynch and Shanahan will not be stopping up their long term plan for an old Tom Brady.
The Titans were a team that looked like a great fit before he chose TB. Frankly they still look like a good fit, a better fit than the Bucs in limbo at the present. But Vrabel didn’t make a move for Brady then and I don’t see anything now, although Tannehill, like Jittery G, just isn’t the answer.
Does Brady care about going out a winner? A nicely scripted finale? That last game wasn’t a bad one, and his performance at the end was vintage.
If he simply and quietly fulfills the final year of his contract, he’ll at least do his best to influence Licht and the roster, but the likelihood of a SB doesn’t look great at this point. Not with that schedule, and not with so many unanswered questions.

I think all signs point that Brady will retire. Like every Bucs fan i hope that he will come back for one last ride but looks like he wont. Would not change the Bucs last 2 years for anything ( well maybe only for Mahommes or Burrow 😉 ). Our beloved Bucs will be very different from now on, the page has turned. Was not the physical traits of Brady that turned us in a Champion and a contender but the leadership, the knowledge of the game and his decision making on the field. And those will be missed. Prime example is the transformation of the OL. Sure Wirfs is an AllPro RT but if you remember everyone said that Brady will be killed by this OL who gave up so much sacks with Winston. But the OL is full of ProBowlers and that is because of Brady. The only think i wish 12 would do different was he should gave more chances to Evans. I get that he was looking for the open WR but Evans is good and he should have gotten more 50/50 balls thrown to him even if he was covered. Anyway we got 2 great years that we badly needed as a fan base. Sure now we have the unknown but i would not changed anything. Thanks for the memories. Hope we can get a QB that we can at least compete. Go Bucs

I love this “he’s going to the Titans” or “he wants to finish his career with the 49ers.” The people writing that are the REAL INSIDERS!!!! They know something no one else knows. They are Tom’s true Inner Circle!
Yes, the two teams that said no to him before the Bucs are now IN PLAY!!!!
The last five days have been a swerve to set up him taking on yet a third team. Because that will really enhance his career and make his wife family. Gisele has always wanted to live on Nashville! She wants to uproot the kids from school again to live in SF so Tom can go play for the team that REJECTED him! Yes, Tom Brady has ZERO pride!
February 1st, 2022 at 8:31 am
Yea.. The Titans, that’s the ticket.
February 1st, 2022 at 9:45 am
It’s all over but the crying folks, he did it. RETIRED. Thanks BA & Bowles, you killed a legend.
