ESPN: Tom Brady Is Retiring

January 29th, 2022

If Jeff Darlington along with Adam Schefter are reporting this, Joe believes it.

Tom Brady, per the ESPN pair of reporters, is retiring.

And so ends one of the glorious chapters of Bucs history. In two years the Bucs went from the NFL’s fire hydrant in a dog park to the NFL’s penthouse, winning a Super Bowl and damn near advancing to the NFC championship the following year.

Brady has done more for this franchise in two years than any other person in Bucs history, and that is a fact. John McKay never got the Bucs to the Super Bowl. Neither did Father Dungy. Chucky got one Super Bowl and then the team collapsed.

Brady, and his recruiting, made the Bucs cool. And the nation watched.

Joe gives a sincere, heartfelt thanks to Brady. It was fun as hell, even though it was only two seasons.

Thanks for everything Brady…Deshaun Watson anyone?

  16. Dylan Says:

Bummed. Losing Brady, our OC and maybe Godwin and others. But I’m so grateful for his time here. His influence will be felt far beyond the Lombardy Trophy he brought us.

  17. Connor Says:

Maybe Brady can just hand his jersey to Aaron Rodgers. The number 12 is already there, just put Rodgers on it

  18. Smashsquatch Says:

Didn’t expect that, I was wrong. Thanks for an amazing two years TB12!

  19. ClodHopper Says:

  22. Cobraboy Says:

    Carr? Wilson?

    Please, Football Dieties, not Wentz.

CAN WE NOET TALK ABOUT OTHER QBS RIGHT NOW?

Just be eternally grateful for what this man gave us. Never would have dreamed that we would win a super bowl again in my life.

  24. Aceofaerospace Says:

Thanks for the memories Tom. Enjoy your well deserved retirement. No one can take away our super bowl.

  25. VSyl Says:

Very sad moment for sports. He had so much gas left yet, but still happy to have watched him and even more that he came for my own team and won a SB. Still, I will only believe when I hear from his own mouth.

  26. Redneck Roady Says:

    We love you Tommy!
    Good luck to you.
    A Grateful Fan

  27. Devinwhiteshorse3 Says:

Thanks Tom for a great year and superbowl! You will be missed! Enjoy sir!

  28. Rob In Land O Lakes Says:

Thank you for the best two years of Buc football I’ve seen in their existence.

Joe, can you report what the official cap implications are? If I missed it here, I apologize.

  29. orlbucfan Says:

Well, Giselle and the kids are relieved. And, it will be an interesting off-season. And, no Bucs are NOT gonna be bottom feeders. Man, am I sick of reading clueless non Bucs fans writing it.

  30. SC. Bucs Fan Says:

    Don’t yell at me Bro

  31. Chris K Says:

Thanh you for two great seasons in Tampa Bay and a world championship Tom! Enjoy your retirement! Thank you again!

  32. lambchop Says:

F%#!. 2 years was not enough!!! Grateful for what he did for our franchise and the Lombardi, but watching him play in pewter and red was more enjoyable than any accomplishment.

Flags at half staff. It’s time to mourn.

  33. Upstate NY BUC Says:

Thank you Sir….my 12 year old and I got to see him twice this year live! Never forget. Let’s keep it going, go Bucs!!!!

  34. tampabayallday Says:

    Thank you Tom Brady.

Arians, Leftwich, and Bowles should be ashamed that they wasted the last games calling garbage.

  35. BuccaneerButters Says:

Thank you Tom! I appreciate everything you have done for this franchise. My favorite team. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Enjoy retirement.

  36. Anonymous Says:

It’s a sad day but not to sad… Now the Bucs need to do what ever it takes to get DeShaun Watson. We will be right back in the thick of things. Give him the same weapons as Brady and we will continue to be one of the top teams in the league! We have lost to much for far to long to blow it up because Brady retired. DESHAUN WATSON!!!!

  37. bucs4life Says:

Thank you, Arians and Bowles. Congratulations.

  38. Defense Rules Says:

Thank you Tom Brady for not only bringing a Super Bowl to Tampa Bay, but especially for teaching our young players what it REALLY takes to win championships. You’ve been the perfect leader & role model. You’ll be missed, and I for one hope that you stay in the Tampa Bay area.

  39. CalBucsFan Says:

    Damn…..thank you Tom.

  40. Im not tired anymore we Super Bowl Champs!! Says:

It was definitely an awesome experience having him. I have never experienced such a dominate team in my life and enjoyed watching them. Wish it was for one more year but I also understand why he wants to go. Go Bucs!

  41. SC. Bucs Fan Says:

Watson has a better chance QBing the Mean Machine then the Bucs.

  42. WalkdaPlank Says:

Man will forever be a Bucs legend. No hard feelings here.

    Thanks Tom!

  43. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Is Jameis Winston available?

  44. Bucsforlife Says:

Deshaun Watson!!! What ever it takes!!!!!! Tampa is right back in Super Bowl talks!!!!

  45. brooks Says:

    Told yall!

  46. Cj1984 Says:

Well the Bucs will return to “normal” and will never be a play off team again.

  47. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

I would rather have been wrong, and still have Tom Brady, but I was right.
Now, the fun begins, to find a QB.
Arians seems to love Carson Wentz, but I am not sold on him, and neither are the Colts, who gave up the farm for him.
We are still a contender, maybe we should give Trask a chance ?

  48. Chimichango Says:

Dang what we going to do now?

  49. BashingBucs2520 Says:

I had this dream where Sean Payton goes to Dallas for the 23/24 season, deals prescott, and brings Brady out of retirement

  50. Dew Says:

    Trade for Garappolo. Brady 2.0.

  51. cmurda Says:

    Sadly grateful

  52. Mike C Says:

    Thank you Brady!

  53. Buccaroo 2022 Says:

A lot of Buc fans who left because of Brady will hop back on the pirate ship. Maybe the Bucs bring Jameis Winston back??

  54. brooks Says:

8-8 next year Brady saw our opponents and hung it up

  55. alvinscissorsharper Says:

Thanks for the two years TB12. At least he didn’t hold us hostage for a long time hemming and hawing. This off season will be fascinating now. We better get a good free agent QB or trade for one. No chance we can go into the season with Gabbert, Trask and Griffin.

  56. Sean Says:

Damn, he seemed to have at least another year left in him. No sign of decline this year. Damn.

  57. Keith V Says:

Time to sell the house for Rodgers

  58. Dlavid Says:

    Pluck!

  59. alton d green Says:

don’t blame him. He brought 2 great seasons to Tampa. IN SPITE OF BOWLES and Leftwich not BECAUSE OF. What good does it do to fight and scratch just to have Bowles give it away?

  60. David Says:

    AAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHH!!!!

I just posted on another thread that I just did not see him retiring, thought for sure he would go one more. Wow this absolutely sucks.

Grateful for him coming here, turning the teams mindset around, and bring v a SB!!!!

This off-season just got real interesting

  61. Beastmode2021 Says:

It’s sad people are calling for another Quarterback. They was millions in Trask and had him inactive the whole season. It’s time to earn your pay. I have so much respect for Tom for not dragging out “The Decision “. You are the GOAT!!!! Tom said he was tired of Smith not blocking for him. Lol Enjoy your family GOAT!

  62. Cobraboy Says:

Gronk will be next, and I won’t be surprised if Suh also retires.

  63. crazybucs_CL Says:

Tom leaving means: he don’t see anything left in this team; we going back to normal, with crappy coaching and crappy team. A lot of fans here, at last, going to comprehend that TB12 was EVERYTHING. And they going to feel back the CRAPPY coaching of BA and his lazy gang.
TB12, a real pro till the end. He don’t need our best wishes, even the whole TB area is going to float the gate with them.
He is a lion that KNOWS his values, and is proud of them.
    A true example for ANYONE.

  64. Swampbuc Says:

    Thankd, Todd.

    Thanks, Horse.

  65. Hal Says:

Thank you Tom for making us relevant. Forever in your debt.

  66. Listnfrmafar Says:

Freaking BA decided to stay I guess. Adios Buc fans. Salute Mr Brady, thanks for 22 great seasons.

  67. Listen Linda! Says:

    Fake news

  68. Youngbucs Says:

    Thx Tom and thx Bucs!

  69. DungyDance Says:

    cmurda said it. Sadly grateful.

  70. Thereal Says:

If Sc.Bucs Fan Says is right it is sad!! That is the player the Tampa organization should go and get. It’s a no brainer, if your trying to win. We all know you can’t win without having good players. Watson is a top of the line talent. Give him the weapons that Brady had and it will be the same result. Bye no means am I saying he is better or it would be the same results as Brady because guys took less to play with Brady to win and i dont care what anyone says if the player know if Watson is there they will have a chance to win because he is good. Tampa would have a franchise QB for sure for the next 10 years. We all know at least a person that knows football that he is a franchise quarterback! He is a difference maker!!! Fact

  71. Listnfrmafar Says:

    G.T Bobby Thompson
    @BThomps81
When Tom Brady retires, which reports say it is closer than we all think, will sign a one day contract with the #Patriots to retire with the team per source. This was always the plan after he was done playing.

  72. Jeagan1999 Says:

Thank you TB12 for being a part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers! You are the BEST and we love you!

  73. Adrnagy Says:

Well … jameis is a FA. we can still get on track.

  74. Bucs&Bolts Says:

I am heartbroken 💔 love this man so much so happy for the last 2years it’s a shame we won’t get a 3rd year

  75. Bqen green Says:

Old story, Ben had it first. Go look at the time stamp on the post. Crazybucs is absolutely correct. See y’all in the superbowl in about 25 years. Brooks is right also. A lot a these guys took less, and wanted to go for a repeat. The bucs FAs will be plucked like low hanging fruit

  76. Peter Babic Says:

This is wife. He will regret leaving the game. It still burns in him

  77. Bqen green Says:

Go get an fing coach. Ariana isn’t the answer for y’all.

  78. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Thanks GOAT…

Glad we got to witness your extraordinary talent up close !

  79. Your Mom Says:

    He’ll change his mind in a month…

  80. Bojim Says:

Wow. Oh well. It was great to have him for a while. Thank you Tom. Enjoy life with your family! 🐐

  81. Iron Wombat Says:

well as an out of market fan this just saved me a NFL sunday ticket sub. they’ll be trash next year. None of the remaining QB’s on the roster can play, they better hope something half way decent is available in free agency.

Also if you’re going with Trask don’t expect Godwin back.

  82. MRRR Says:

Thanks TB12 for everything. It was amazing and fun. Played 22 years and you still have your health. Enjoy retirement. Go Bucs.

  83. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

    I think I’m gonna hurl.

  84. SteveK Says:

Finished stronger than he started. Thank you, Goat, for the best two year run in Bucs history.

What a stud. Leader. Baller. Field General.

It’s sad because he could still be the best QB in the league next year, but you got to respect his lack of desire for being a distraction with a farewell tour.

Enjoy your family, thanks for 22 years of a storied career. It’s so cool that we were able to enjoy two years of it, wouldn’t trade it for the world; and still baffles my mind that Belichik didn’t do more to keep him-dumb move.

  85. Sean Says:

Maybe he’s taking a year off to replace Baker Mayfield. Cleveland is one QB away from a championship.

  86. mg Says:

Thank You TB -12. Enjoy having your caddie carry the sticks at Seminole.

  87. RandsABucFan Says:

My money is on Arian’s retiring as well.

  88. Tampabaybucfan Says:

That’s what you call going out on top……always a good decision…..sad but very grateful…..

    Thanks so much, Mr. Brady!!!

  89. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Whelp…I guess we’ll have plenty of cap room this year. Brady retiring means Gronk and JPP will as well. Suh MIGHT still play, but he’s unlikely to stay with the Bucs.

  90. crazybucs_CL Says:

@”….will sign a one day contract with the #Patriots to retire with the team per source….”
    ————-
totally understandable. His life, his success was there. Here was just a blink, just enough to give the most forgiven fans in NFL, a break. A short break from being part of one of the worst organization in NFL history.
It felt good. Tom, you the man for picking us, you the man.

  91. VSyl Says:

It’s official now. Even TB12 brand is posting

  92. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Bright side: we could land Rogers or Wilson to replace Brady

  93. Jaaon Says:

    Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  94. Bqen green Says:

Y’all should be thanking Brady. He brought respectability to a franchise that had zero. He’s the best player the game has ever seen. Never again will a QB win seven rings. Never again will a player have as much drive and conviction that he did. Just sad it ended in a horrendously ugly uniform, and with a franchise that didn’t deserve him. Y’all can thank the fact that Mike vrabel choose Ryan T. over the greatest quarterback of all time.

  95. UKBuccaneer Says:

Thank you Tom, you showed a talented team with an addiction to losing how to win.
And no we don’t want Rodgers. He struts around with that smug look on his face whether he’s winning in week 1 or losing the NFC championship. Let’s go get Russel Wilson or start a rebuild. Rodgers isn’t the guy.

  96. Jaaon Says:

    Noooooooooooo Dad Noooooooooooooooo

  97. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Oh, our center might retire too.

  98. SB~LV Says:

    Back to being a pumpkin

  99. Bold DG Says:

If he is retiring because the wife put her foot down (and assuming he wants to play one more year) then take it to the bank, this will become his biggest regrets. It’s like painting over rust, one day it will bubble through and may become a wedge between him and Mrs Brady. I’m thankful we had him for two years and that he made his decision sooner Vs later.

  100. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

Thanks Tom for the two years , it will be remembered forever in Bucs lore. Cannot see Arians sticking around.

  101. Swampbuc Says:

    Vomitous.

The FA exodus will be like rats from a sinking ship……..unless Jason Licht can work magic and get a real quarterback, and soon.

  102. Bqen green Says:

Bill and Brady have already mended some fences. It was never about respect between the two of them. It’ll be a glorious reunion when he goes to Canton in five years. Bill will be front row center. He owes his coaching career to two players, the other being Lawrence Taylor

  103. Mike C Says:

Hahaha you like a jealous ex Ben Green LOL!!!!

  104. Swampbuc Says:

Bold DG — spot on take.

  105. fern Says:

Mike Evans gave away his last TD ball LMAO!!!!
    GREAT CAREER!!!! GOAT

  106. Mike C Says:

Set all the league passing records…… AS A BUC AHHHHAHAHAHAHAHA

  107. Bosch Says:

Seems to me that given TB12’s body of work, the media, including ESPN should have given him the room to release his own statement rather than to leak it, and make his inevitable announcement anticlimactic. I know what you are going to say, Joe, that is not the real world. Still, some class shown by the media would have been a pleasant surprise.

Proud to see so many expressions of gratitude from fellow Bucs fans for the last 2 years. I will hold mine until Brady makes it official.

  108. allbuccedup Says:

Thank you Tom Brady for the last two years of exciting football the best two years of Bucs football that I can remember.

  109. Miller5252 Says:

Makes me wonder if he saw the window slamming shut on this team and couldn’t compete with next years brutal schedule, possible OC leaving and possible DC staying after his horrible call. Did the AB BS help make his decision. Or has he really just lost that passion he’d play with over the years. I’m glad we got him for 2 years, best 2 years in Bucs history!! Thanks Brady!!

  110. Sandman Says:

All this draft picks building for the future sound pretty dumb right now…

  111. Marine Buc Says:

It was fun while it lasted… It will still be a very interesting off season as we go into rebuild mode.

Thanks TB12. You are the GOAT.

  112. Cbell96825 Says:

Thank you Mr Brady was an amazing 2 years really made me appreciate my love for this team again!

  113. Joe Says:

Seems to me that given TB12’s body of work, the media, including ESPN should have given him the room to release his own statement rather than to leak it,

That goes against every doctrine of even the cheapest, low-rent Journalism 101 class. You have a story, you report it.

Or as Blackie Sherrod (look him up if you don’t know) would say, “Report it or read it.”

  114. Iron wombat Says:

Season ticket base about to evaporate.

  115. Listnfrmafar Says:

Ben Rothsberger who? I really hope they award him the MVP. Roger’s would wait until the day before the SB.

  116. JimbobBucsFan Says:

Thank you Tom Brady for what you brought to a downtrodden franchise. You put us over the top when so much else was in place. We fans will never forget! 😍

Now it is onto the next rebuild. The second phase of what occured when Bruce Arians walked in the door at One Buc Place begins.

Goodbye to all of you bandwagon fans. We will welcome you back when we have our next Lombardi Trophy winning team in place.

    Go Bucs!

  117. ClodHopper Says:

The Falcons and Panthers are having too good of a week.

  118. Mtbucsfan Says:

Well it was nice being an nfl team while it lasted. Time to go back in the basement where we belong.

  119. unbelievable Says:

    Told y’all.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Thanks for the SB Mr Brady!

  120. Bqen green Says:

Ben’s mind is flashing back to the almost undefeated season, and the Atlanta superbowl. Never has Ben seen such a competitor, and been around a few. He goes out leading the league in TD passes. We never had to see him suck like so many before him. Ben is also reminded of the horrible loss to the jets in 2010. Funny how the disappointments spring to mind. Steve young once said the agony of defeat, outweighs the thrill of victory. Winning is more relief than exuberance when expectation is high

  121. LakelandSteve Says:

So Greatfull to have had the opportunity to watch and root for the Greatest Football Player of all time. It was such a wonderful and amazing time to be a Bucs fan the last two years after years and years of suffering under bad teams.
Thank-you Tom Brady, now enjoy the rest of your life with your family.

  122. BringBucsBack Says:

    BringBradyBack!!!

  123. Jeffbuc Says:

Thanks Tom. What a great two years we had. And they can never take away are fans new nfc champions and super bowl champions sweatshirts and hats. Only down side is what veteran nfl quarterback will want to come to Tampa next year and try to fill toms shoes. Anything short of winning the nfc championship will make them look inferior. Even though they are there ego won’t want it talked about on every media outlet all year long. If Tom were still you would think they might win that game Wilson gave it all he had just could t make the big throw when needed. No person would want to walk into that situation

  124. Hodad Says:

So Joe, I guess Brady wasn’t looking for leverage like you said for whatever. He wasn’t looking for more money either, like was written by someone else, but you were glad to post what he said in one of your articles. It was more like I knew all along. It was time to give into his family’s needs. God I hate being right.

  125. Bqen green Says:

Bold, I think you may be right. I don’t see a happy ending for him and superior G. If she forced his hand like Ben suspects, he may well regret it. He was at the top of his game. Ben thinks of what if, if he hadn’t had his knee injury in 08. That team was loaded with a capital L. All they needed was Brady

  126. Rod Munch Says:

If anybody says Teddy Bridgewater… I will force feed you ebola. I swear.

  127. Sean Says:

He’s a hall of famer if you just look at just his 20s or just his 30s or just his 40s.

  128. Adrnagy Says:

Spotrac updated brady contract and buc salary cap space. Wow. It must be true brady is retiring a patriot.

Licht start dialing teddy. If thats if arians stays he likes him. Or who else is in door 2 ?

  129. gotbbucs Says:

That was a fun ride. Thankful for the time, even though it was short.

  130. Bqen green Says:

Ben can also report, as well as breaking his retirement, Bill and he have already spoken, and he did ask his advice

  131. Listnfrmafar Says:

Nice to see even the haters like SB-LV are giving praise. C’mon Oneilbucyall, oralb and Doosh, you can do it.

  132. Rod Munch Says:

    Brady, thank you!

    You were amazing.

I wasn’t a huge fan of you, but I also knew you weren’t washed up. What you showed me was incredible decision making and accuracy, and amazing leadership. You truly are the GOAT, and I hope your time here will be more than a footnote in the story of your life.

  133. Dyno-White ! # 45 Says:

1976 season ticket holder. It was a hell of a 2 years. He had 1 more ring in him…it could’ve been this year. I’m good if we go back into a salary cap induced rebuild. The thing is, I’d kick the can one more year. Throw what’s left in future cap space and keep our best and mortgage some draft picks too. 1 more year in the playoffs is possible I’d we get our best remaining back. Keep Godwin and Lenny and the O line. A mediocre QB can probably squeak us into the playoffs as our Division has no better talent than us.

  134. Miller5252 Says:

It’s a sad day when Matt Ryan is the best QB in the South…. Go get Wilson

  135. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    QUESTION:
Do we get a compensatory pick for losing him?

  136. VSyl Says:

Just hope we don’t see gabbert, but Trask gets a chance

  137. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Believe me, ESPN would not have had the information if Tom didn’t give it to them knowing they would report it.

  138. Connor Says:

If you want to keep the roster intact, Aaron Rogers is the obvious option. Star players aren’t going to stick around to watch imminent growing pains with a young QB.

  139. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Adrnagy Says:
    “Licht start dialing teddy.”

If they did that I would hate it as much as I hated signing Brown.

  140. Christos Says:

There is no reason to look and talk about what QB will be next today. We have all offseason for that. Let it be for a moment. Its just a day to say THANK YOU for the memories. It was a fan 2 years and it was worth it.

    THANK YOU. Go Bucs

  141. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Connor Says
“If you want to keep the roster intact, Aaron Rogers is the obvious option.”

I agree, or Russell Wilson. He’s not an all-time great, but he can do a pretty darn good job.

  142. Chris Says:

Really sad, but also grateful for him. Such a consummate professional and leader. The best to ever do it.

  143. NotTampaTom Says:

Thanks Tom for everything. Such a great past 2 years. Go Bucs!

  144. Bellingham Bucs Fan Says:

    Fire Todd Bowles.

  145. Rod Munch Says:

Winston is the obvious choice. Already knows the offense, doesn’t cost much, was highly productive, and showed last year, if you don’t say ‘no risk-it, no bisk-it’, he can be a highly productive game manager as well.

I know the triggered idiot nutjobs would rather than Gabbert than Winston, but that’s only because they’re literally retarded.

But the Bucs should be calling about Watson, Wilson, Rodgers – and if you can’t get one of those guys, Winston should be the next call.

At no point are you talking about a worthless unproductive stiff like Bridgewater who sucks. Anyone who thinks Bridgewater is a legit option should have their hair dyed with asbestos and AIDS.

  146. Im not tired anymore we Super Bowl Champs!! Says:

When Brady came to Tampa I couldn’t believe it. He reminded me so much of myself on how passionate he was about the game. He made the team that I love so much become respectable again and we were no longer a laughing stock. He brought us a Super Bowl and for that Brady will always be my favorite player to put a Buccaneer uniform on. I was at his last game and almost witnessed a miracle comeback only to fall short. I’m not ready for this to end but respect his decision to leave for family. Having 4 young daughters of my own who need so much of daddy’s attention I get it. Thanks for making the Bucs shine. We will miss you and wish you the best! Go Bucs! Go Goat!

  147. PanhandleBuc Says:

Thank you Tom Brady for the memories and an incredible 2 year run!!

  148. SB~LV Says:

    Who caught Bradys last TD?
If it was ME it was tossed in the stands

  149. Bucamania Says:

Thank you, Tom and Gronk, for a magical couple seasons and SuperBowl.

  150. Michelle Says:

I feel the NFC south will be the basement of our conference next year. 8 wins may get someone here to the playoffs lol.

  151. Jon Says:

Seems it’s not totally sure he’s retiring yet. Agent won’t confirm. Conflicting reports.

  152. Bird Says:

    Sheeeet

    But i get it

Tbbucs3- good call. Yes we need him
    😂

    You think saints want him

  153. Bucamania Says:

    So you’re saying there’s a chance?! lol

  154. Steven007 Says:

For those saying you called it or you had it first, get a freaking life. Everybody who said he was staying had a 50% chance of getting it right. Ditto with everyone who said he was retiring. Getting it right one way or the other is meaningless. None of us knew until he announced. Very glad he chose our team. Very glad he announced early. We’ll see if our formally trash, now great GM can pull some strings and get a good QB to guide us. The division is wide open now. We still have the best roster. Though that’s obviously subject to change in the near future.

  155. DrunkInYbor Says:

Legacy CEMENTED! He won a super bowl with us and came back from 27-3! What a great great ride it’s been. I’m forever grateful for his amazing contributions to our franchise.

  156. Sean Says:

The vitriolic scum like Rob Parker won’t be able to take joy in seeing a 48 year old Brady hobbling around as a shell of his former self. I’m sure he’ll still call Brady a quitter and a coward because Parker is such a hateful person.

  157. DrunkInYbor Says:

I’d trade 3 1s 3 2s and 3 3 3rd rounders for Josh Allen. And the Bills would laugh at us

  158. Steven007 Says:

An interesting side note on his announcement is the fact that it will be Tom, not Ben that will command the Hall of Fame ceremony 5 years from now.. sorry Ben.

  159. Goatwatcher Says:

In the Boston tradition of Bill Russell and Larry Bird, no retirement celebratory tour. He did his job then stepped down. Thank you Tom Brady.

  160. JimmyJack Says:

Two of the funnest years as a fan of this team. Brady built something inside that lockerroom and hopefully it will leave a lasting effect.

    GO BUCS!!!!

  161. JimmyJack Says:

I love hope as much as the next Bucs fan but lets just stop with the conflicting repirts nonsence. ESPN is gospel.

  162. PassingThru Says:

I pretty much knew he was retiring before the Rams game. I kept telling my son to watch closely, as that would be the last time he’d see Brady in a game.

Super Bowl or not, he went out the way he was supposed to, fighting from a seemingly impossible deficit, with an offense depleted by injury. If it wasn’t for Bowles idiotic play call, the Bucs would still be playing.

  163. D-Rok Says:

Growing up in Cali as a 49ers fan, I used to call Montana the GOAT – until the last 10 years or so. Thank you, Tom Brady. You will always be called the unquestioned GOAT in my book, and thank you for aspiring to rise above and overcome adversity, and teaching others around you to do the same. We will miss you!!

    GO BUCS!!

  164. SKBucsFan Says:

The only thing better about this sas news would be if it broke tomorrow before the Rams play. Ya…I’m a dick and hold grudges !

  165. Jon Says:

Following up on “my” previous report. Brady apparently card Licht to say he hasn’t made up his mind yet. Reported by Greg Auman from Athletic.

  166. HC Grover Says:

Sean Payton? This is bad news. Back to the rebuild. Now might as well clean house, get new HC and rebuild.

  167. Scooter Says:

Throughout Brady’s career after a game loss, being pissed He would exit the field quickly after shaking the opposing team’s QB hand ( being superpissed Foles was the Exception). I didn’t watch the field after the Ram’s loss. If Brady talked with several players or coaches, in poker its called a ” Tell “, his body language would suggest to me that he’s done.

  168. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

I agree with Rod Munch, bring Jameis back!
He knows the offense, and still has major ties to this area.
    Please no Carson Wentz!

  169. '79 Defense Says:

    Thanks Tom!!!!!!

  170. captivajim Says:

THANK YOU Arians , Leftwich & of course BOWLES for such great play calling the last 2 games…

    NO BRAINS= No Biscuit ………

  171. David Says:

And here come all the haters. This is the best coaching staff this team has ever had. Ever. They still have talent everywhere. They need a tight end, another receiver, DL help. So what? Every team has holes. It all depends on what they do at quarterback. Is Trask ready? I doubt it. Gabbert sure as hell is not the answer. Russell Wilson? They are still one of the top teams in the NFC if… If… They can get a quarterback

  172. alvinscissorsharper Says:

I do think it was purposeful that this leaked on the afternoon of the Gasparilla Parade when half of Tampa is drunk and down on Bayshore.

  173. Brendahadababy Says:

Brady called the Bucs to tell them he hasn’t made an official decision, yet.

  174. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Now the fun starts, and all us armchair coaches can all fight over what QB we should get to replace Brady.

  175. captivajim Says:

Tell me ” David” ; Do u seriously think Bowles made the correct calls on the last TWO Rams plays ?

Why did BL keep Tyler on the field for 3+ qtrs when he couldn’t execute — and Finally put Miller in middle of 4th Qtr.. Miller made critical 4th down catch. Miller drew Rams secondary, which put Evans in 1 on 1 coverage for Brady to deliver 60 yrd TD pass to Mike Evans

  176. Mike Johnson Says:

Smart man. Getting out while his body is relatively healthy. Bucs fans, the man brought us a superbowl. Enjoy your life and your beautiful wife Tom. To hell with the fans. Enjoy life. You deserve it.

  177. james west Says:

i will believe it when it comes straight from the goats mouth baaaaaaa

  178. JohnJ Says:

A True Pat’s Fan but switched to Bucs for Two years, Tom Watching you come Back and win so many times I’m surprised I’m still alive, Your Finishing on Top, I hope The Best for you ,A True Leader , enjoy Your Family and Friends, I’m Sure you’ll be around some where , Thanks again Tom ,

  179. Randy J Cooper Says:

I hope the rumor of your retirement isn’t true, I know the dedication to your craft leaves your family yearning for more of your time but I hope you see the 2022 season thru, you’re playing some of the best ball of your career and I know the contemplation of hanging up your helmet is got to weigh heavy on you especially with the support of your fan base. I believe yourself and Gronk is the best thing that’s happened to the Tampa Bay Bucs franchise and if the rumor is true I would like to say on the behalf of all the fans, myself included, thanks for the contribution you have made to the NFL !! WOW the stats you have put up is no less than incredible, you will surely be missed !!!! Thanks for the memories !!!! RJC !

  180. Don Christian Says:

Thanks for the best 22 years of football I’ve ever seen in my life. So glad that you’re getting out now to spend more time with your family. The best I’ve ever seen and I grew up with Montana.
