The Morning After

January 24th, 2022

It is a sad Monday morning in Tampa Bay. For only the fifth time this football season, we cannot celebrate a victory on the morning after. It shouldn’t have ended this way.

Injuries Finally Caught Up With Bucs

When Joe looked at all the possible playoff opponents the Bucs could have had just before the playoffs started, the only team Joe feared was the Rams.

With all the injuries to the secondary and the wide receivers, Joe felt the Rams roster would prove to be the absolute matchup. And this was before Tristan Wirfs got hurt.

All of this was evident yesterday. Yes, the secondary was healthy but they looked like the JV facing the varsity.

Receivers? It was clear how the Bucs missed Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown and even the immortal Cyril Grayson. Basically, the Bucs and Tom Brady had one reliable receiver and that was Mike Evans. Hell, he even caught a bomb.

Tyler Johnson is not yet a prime-time player. Scotty Miller seems destined to be a special teams player and a good one at that — why can’t he return kicks? Would he be as bad as Jaelon Darden?

Wirfs, man did the Bucs miss him. How good is Wirfs? The Bucs offensive line positively wilted under the intense pressure from the Rams’ pass rush. Even Donovan Smith was struggling mightily with Von Miller.

And yet the Bucs still damn near pulled off the win. It showed Joe two things: What a special player Brady is and the heart of the Bucs to keep fighting. Joe thinks Ndamukong Suh made a compelling case to return in 2022. He was a beast out there yesterday.

Why Did Todd Bowles Think Blitzing Would Work?

Joe wrote about this yesterday but it still irks Joe this morning. All over the interwebs last week was strong documentation from legitimate sources, including the NFL-owned NextGen stats, that blitzing Rams quarterback Matt Stafford is a recipe for disaster.

Stafford goes through blitzes like Joe goes through a plate of Hooters wings when he has a pint of Big Storm Brewery‘s Palm Bender IPA.

And if this information was everywhere, then surely the Bucs’ analytics team provided it to Bowles. Or at least gave it to Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians for him to give to Bowles.

So why on earth did Bowles blitz Stafford 64 percent of the time on the Rams’ first two drives? That’s just irresponsible to Joe and frankly it cost the Bucs the game. Coaching malpractice.

And an all-out blitz in the final seconds, which allowed Cooper Kupp to burn Antoine Winfield to set up the game-winning field goal? Did Bowles not learn from what happened earlier? The only word Joe can come up with is “irresponsible.”

Jaelon Darden Needs Competition

So now the Bucs’ braintrust gets the next three months to look in the mirror and ask if they cannot get better in the return game. Unless Jaelon Darden has some sort of epiphany, he’s ain’t the answer.

Yes, Joe understands Darden was a rookie and he is learning and developing. Did Darden look in late January any better than he did in October? One thing that frustrated Joe so much this year was why a team that was bound and determined to return to the Super Bowl would decide to stick with a developmental player in the return game? Joe could understand if Darden showed many signs or flashes he could be something. He didn’t.

Joe swears Darden’s decision yesterday to let a punt roll past him at the 10-yard line that ended up in the end zone was likely Darden’s best play of the season.

If the Bucs really are serious about competing for an NFC title in 2022, then the Bucs must find competition for Darden or just flat out replace him.

The Defense Couldn’t Be Found

On a day when the Bucs offense was shredded by injuries, when fans were all excited a guy pulled off the street earlier this month was active (John Brown), the defense needed to absolutely ball out for the offense to have a chance.

Instead, the defense looked awful early. Not nearly enough pressure on Matt Stafford. Totally dumb penalties. And ole pass coverage. How many millions did Carlton Davis cost himself when he got smoked worse than a tailgate brisket on that 70-yard bomb to Cooper Kupp?

Tackling? Good lord, Monte Kiffin is weeping in his Redington Beach condo after watching that tripe yesterday.

The games on Saturday demonstrated just how imperative it is in the playoffs to get a consistent pass rush and that didn’t happen for the Bucs yesterday. Way too often Rams receivers were running wide arse open. It was sickening. Sean McVay sure has Todd Bowles’ number.

It was a complete and total breakdown by the defense. The only thing the defense did right yesterday, other than to force and pounce on Cam Akers’ fumbles, was to help ensure Bowles remains as the Bucs’ defensive coordinator.

It’s one thing to get shamed in the regular season at home by the slimy Saints. But with so much on the line Sunday, including a chance to host the NFC title game, for the defense to pull a complete no-show is really awful and unacceptable.

In fact, it is coaching malpractice in Joe’s mind.

The Bucs lost 30-27. It didn’t have to be that way.

Season Is Over But Bucs News And Joe Never Sleep

Yeah, Joe is as bummed out as you are that the Bucs aren’t going back to the Super Bowl. It’s sickening. But hey, what a magical run the Bucs have had the past two years. Only once the past two seasons did Joe type a draft story before February. Hell, draft stories popped up on JoeBucsFan.com during the Lost Decade before Halloween.

Joe doesn’t snooze. He has fresh content daily 24/7/365. That will never change. This team could look very, very different in a couple of months. And that’s even factoring in Tom Brady’s apparent dalliance with retirement.

So hang here every day with Joe. Sincere promise that Joe won’t be boring or panhandle for a handout!

And Lastly…

And thus ends another season of the weekly “The Morning After” column. Joe hopes you enjoyed it. It will return in September. Right now that seems a lifetime away.

This was a tough one. They all are. But teams handed Bowles a game plan and he chose to think he is better than the facts. The sad part is that he will continue to be the defensive coordinator..who team would hire him now?

  2. asdf Says:

Despite all the injuries this game was lost in the trenches. The online was a sieve without Wirfs in there. Just saw he’s getting surgery on that that ankle. Prayers for the big man to come back at full strength. That really seemed to be the death blow for this offense. Brady had no time all day.

What a punch in the gut that ending was….hard fought season but ultimately too many injuries to key players to have a serious chance at a title.

  3. alaskabuc Says:

That all out blitz you are referring to Joe, is one of the single worst play calls in playoff history. Bowles got greedy after the sack fumble Stafford was lucky to recover two plays prior. He wanted to be the hero and his pride/greed got the better of him, he couldn’t resist going for the death blow. All he had to do was go into some kind of prevent defense for three plays and it was OT with a surging Bucs team on both sides of the ball in their own house. Head coaches don’t make selfish decisions at the cost of the team, Todd.

  4. Swampbuc Says:

Joe – you run a fine operation here. I will stay a regular. Alaska – I agree and wrote the same thing in a rant somewhere else. I’m even more mad now than earlier.

    🤬

  5. Izod Says:

It looked like the defensive coordinator for Florida State out there today. Now, I’m nowhere saying Bowles is that bad, I still think he’s one of the better DCs out there. We didn’t lose because of him, the Rams were just the better team. They are like a younger version of the Bucs talent-wise, without a GOAT tho.

The sad fact is, the game should’ve actually been a BLOWOUT as I predicted. The Rams proved they are deep throat chokers. Sure, they will finally beat the 49ers next week, but unlike the Bucs last year, when they host the Super Bowl this year they will get blown out!

  6. Swampbuc Says:

iPod, I think the Niners beat them.

  7. Oxycodoms Says:

Difference in the game was gay vs succop

  8. gotbbucs Says:

This team could not afford to come out flat on offense in this game.
Just.move.the.freaking.chains. Period. They had to match blows early, not go three-and-out and turn the ball over after Rams scores.

The Bucs were beyond lucky to be in this game at the end.

Given the amount of injuries and Antonio Brown bull sh!t, I still consider this season a success.

On a side not. Kicking the ball out of bounds twice, as an NFL specialist, should get you cut immediately after the game.

  9. firethecannons Says:

Thanks Joe! the problem is todd bowles does not change and we are stuck with him. I wonder who we can email to suggest special teams coach get fired? The Buccaneers should have an email line for comments, suggestions.

    so many needs this offseason
wr, corner, tight end, pass rush plus kick/punt returner need new punter

  10. shorttrooper Says:

Competition? Darden is the worst returner I’ve seen in 30 years of watching this team. He’s not an NFL player and the fact that he was still returning kicks for this team in the playoffs is a black mark on the coaching staff.

  11. August 1976 Buc Says:

I posted last week, no pass rush, it would be painful to watch. It would have been great to be wrong about that, but like the week 3 game against the Rams, the pass rush barley even breathed on Stafford.

The offense has averaged 30+, that has covered a lot of defensive warts.
But in the game, there was no 30+ point production to put “lipstick on the pig” and mask the sometimes maddening secondary.
Before the season, I stated the secondary was the weak link, and got a lot of grief from posters. Whatever… But to compound the weakness, was a the secondary getting badly injured most of the year. That secondary is a huge wart that the offense was able to cover up. BUT not yesterday.

Yeah Bowles should not have left Winfield on an Island, but IF the Offense would have been normal, the Bucs would not have been in that position to begin with. Oh and the Succop field goal miss, turns out to be a back breaker, and salt on the wound is Gay kicking the game winner.

Hey it could be worse, (see Buffalo) like Buffalo actually takes the lead with 13 seconds left and end up losing to the Mahome Boys in OT.

Same kind of painful loss, oh and Buffalo had the #1 defense…..
So those who are frustrated with Todd Bowles, make sure you slam Leslie Frazier the DC for Buffalo, it looks worse for him.

Win or lose, the sun still comes up the next morning. Life goes on.

    GO BUCS!!!!!!!!

  12. John Collins Says:

F..ken AB couldn’t keep it together for a few more games..what could he be feeling to see Davis get 4tds. Hill with going wild knowing he has the same quickness and speed. For all the help and direction Brady gave him with 2 teams he disappeared as should any hof talk

  13. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

Darden has been terrible. But Bowles is a much bigger problem. Too stupid or stubborn or both to be blitzing as much as he does. Especially on that last play. Coaching malpractice. That’s right up there with Seattle passing at the 1 yard line in the Super Bowl. I hope someone hires him as head coach. It’s a bas feeling thinking he might be coming back.

  14. westernbuc Says:

Bowles and Leftwich need to be promoted to head coach and ruin some other team.

Joe nailed it on the blitzing data. So I won’t rant about that.

Leftwich abandoned the run too early. We had two first downs by running on the first drive, had one bad run, then went right back to the dumb passing offense that Arians loves so much. Breaking news, Brady is 44 and barely mobile. He should not be dropping back 50+ times a game.

Quite frankly this coaching staff is arrogant. Arians was stubborn with Jameis, who obviously needed a run game to support him, and he’s arrogant with Tom. If we didn’t have the GOAT, I’d want us to clean house.

I don’t buy the Brady retirement talk.

  15. BucfaninMi Says:

AB is a POS Wirfs is the REAL MVP

  16. captivajim Says:

Darden dosen’t need “competition”; he needs to be traded.

Miller has A LOT more potential than just returning kickoffs….

A LOT of house cleaning is overdue-starting with coaches……

  17. August 1976 Buc Says:

So Bowles becomes the DC in 2019, turns around a historically bad defense he inherited.
Does anyone remember the WEEKLY BEATDOWNS the defense took under Coach my Scheme Lovie and then Mike Smith??????
Is this not the same Todd Bowles who in less than 1 season had the defense competitive.
I guess he is judged on the last game, because if you take the whole of his work, then the comments are way off about him, in spite of the anger being thrown at him a few hours after the Bucs got their azz beat.

He has been using smoke and mirrors to try and hold this physically beat up defense up, and try to be competitive.

Todd gambles and gets burned on the pass to Kupp with less then a minute to go, it happens as we can see. Yes it is painful to see.
But to just rag on him like he is some kind of idiot is way off , the hard feelings just are not based on the sum of the whole of what T Bowles has done with the Bucs.

Any fan that has followed the team for the last 10 years, knows about the weekly train-wreck the defense was before Todd Bowles took it over. That is just the facts, not comments from being pissed off about the Bucs getting their azz beat.

    GO BUCS!!!!!!!!!

  18. gotbbucs Says:

    @August
I agree, Bowles is pretty far down the list of problems right now. There’s only so much you can do defensively in the NFL right now if you don’t have at least one elite cornerback.
Problem #1 – Blitzing is fine, but we don’t have an inside linebacker that can blitz effectively.
Problem #2 – Blitzing is fine, but we don’t have a secondary that can cover of the blitz doesn’t get there.

  19. UKBuccaneer Says:

The secondary. Jeez. The secondary was a problem all year (and the SB win masked the fact that they didn’t look amazing at times last year either). This team relies upon pass-rush and that made the secondary look better than it is. They even gave themselves a cool sounding monicker. Embarrassing. The grave diggers could do with being dug out of Tampa.

  20. Onetrickpony Says:

The tracking to me was unbelievable
Looked like drunk sailors on saturday night trying to catch a hoochie goochie
girl running for her life. OC and. DC both sucked. I forsee Brady retiring Heaven forbid and B.Gabbert in there

  21. lunchmeat Says:

    1) This is gonna be the longest off-season of Antoine Winfield’s life. Watching that play, he sure looked like he was caught flat-footed. I can’t imagine why.
    2) Lord, I hate the 14-team playoff field. Tristan Wirfs doesn’t get hurt proving that the Eagles didn’t belong in the playoffs, we probably win that game.

  22. PassingThru Says:

I’m still agitated from the game, and in a way I had an eerie feeling all season that certain decisions on draft night would come back to bute them. I didn’t think the coaching staff was anything special, but there are far, far worse NFL coaching staffs out there.

Licht had a great draft 2 seasons ago, but he whiffed badly on this last draft. I honestly wonder what his strategy was. Super Bowl windows are fleeting, so he went all out to re-sign the key free agents. Bravo but then he did a weird 180 degree on draft night and picked some not ready for prime time players. Tryon-Shyinka was raw as sushi, and yet he was drafted over Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, the fine OLB for the Browns who inexplicably dropped. Licht used the 2nd round pick on a backup QB. Why? I thought the personnel strategy was to go all in now. And he lost a minor but important depth player on the backup OT Haig, and he never drafted a developmental OT despite the importance of the position.

But most of all I cannot comprehend Bowles. What was that moron thinking during the week of pregame planning? One of the reasons why the Rams have owned the Bucs was due to the idiotic approach to blitzing Stafford. Everyone and their grandmother knew Stafford is one of the best QBs at handling the blitz; Stafford’s weakness is reading a field when you keep defenders back in coverage. So what does that idiot Bowles do? He blitzes heavily, leading to TWO QUICK Ram scores.

The Buc defense did the best they could to recover. The reduced blitzing; in fact the best pressure they put on Stafford all night was when they only sent 4. That’s when you notice Stafford having trouble making his reads. So what does that freaking idiot Bowles do with 30 seconds left? He calls for a blitz, and leaves the best wide receiver on the planet in single coverage with a Safety. A Safety!!!

That idiot deserves to be fired, but you know he won’t be.

  23. August 1976 Buc Says:

I have posted about the secondary multiple times, has been the weak link.
    gotbbucs…Your points are spot on.
Last year the front 7 was able to HIDE the secondary, some call it complimentary football, but hey the secondary has to step too for it to be complimentary football, not just surviving because of the front 7

I posted last week, that without a pass rush against the Rams it was going to be painful. I wish I was wrong, but as we see they barley breathed on Stafford.

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  24. steele Says:

As I posted in another thread to 99.97.92.55.47.40.28.20.7 regarding what lost the game at the end:

Kupp badly burned SMB, made him fall, on that first down. Then Antoine Winfield got caught staring at the QB instead of staying with Kupp and got roasted.

Those two plays were the game. We can legit argue that Bowles play calling was the problem, but it was up to SMB and Winfield to make the plays. Pure technical screwups by those two guys, and brilliance by Kupp.

  25. PassingThru Says:

One more pet peev5wirh the coaching staff: the offensive line coaching. The Bucs, when healthy, have one of the physically strongest and most athletic OLs in the league, but their run blocking is poor. Who is coaching these guys to zone block? The Rams are a team you should be able to run on, especially with a truck like Fournette. And yet they couldn’t.

  26. westernbuc Says:

August, his defense was trash all of 2019 and trash until December of 2020. He, and Arians, never have a good plan against Sean McVay or Sean Payton, the two people you need to be able to beat in the NFC.

We played the absolute worst game of this weekend, and save for some fumbles, it would’ve been a blowout.

Bowles should be gone. So should Leftwich. The game plan was an absolute embarrassment. Rams offense annihilated our defense, and Leftwich/Arians are addicted to their stupid passing game which never works against teams that can rush four.

As I’ve pointed out, much to the annoyance of many people, Dirk Koetter could beat the Saints. Bruce Arians can’t. And he can’t beat the Rams either.

If BA/Licht couldn’t land Brady, they would’ve gone with Bridgewater, and we would’ve cleaned house this year. TB12 saved their careers, but he isn’t Jesus Christ.

  27. DrunkInYbor Says:

Right on! True Bucs fans ain’t goin nowhere!! As a fan who’s 41 and grew up in Tampa/valrico and Brandon. This is amazing 🤩 In the Immortal Words of a true professional and 1st ballot hall of famers Derrick Brooks ” We’ll be back, We’ll be back.

  28. HeavyE Says:

@steele, Very Good Point! That’s what cost Us this game, SMB, Dean and Davis are not starting DB’s in this League. Period!!! Let’s Go Bucs!!!!

  29. Bucsfanman Says:

Joe- I couldn’t say anything better. I whole heatedly agree. This was tough to watch, even thinking the Bucs could come back in the end.
After watching this offense yesterday, there’s no denying the value of Chris Godwin and AB (for what it’s worth!).
We laid an egg on defense, despite the TOs and intermittent plays. It’s puzzling how a QB has all day to throw when we’re blitzing like banshees. On top of it, WRs were WIDE OPEN all game.

Lastly, I love the site Joe. You are the first place I come for anything Buc related. Keep up the good work!

  30. Bucsfanman Says:

    “heartedly”

  31. Bird Says:

    Sucks sucks sucks

We didnt deserve to win but man that stadium was going crazy when tied up late in 4th quarter…people were screaming at the top of their lungs. Awesome memory with horrible ending.

Only to watch us lose again to stupid decisions. 40 seconds and you let that happen at the end. Sorry but both our coaches can leave. Special teams too

A lot of luck in winning a championship…luck being able to keep guys healthy which sank us this year. I hope brady comes back but understand if he doesnt. Its been 2 years of fun

Great coverage joes ! Wish we could just get rid of some of these loser trolls. Aka the nutsmuggler messiah cult members

  32. Sandman Says:

The biggest problem was the terrible draft and free agency. Licht didn’t try to improve the team, all the draft picks were terrible, not a single one even play (besides joe tryon). Now bucs have a front 4 that can’t pressure without blitz, a secondary that can’t cover, a top pick linebacker that probably has zero trade value and can’t cover as well and a defense that relys only on big plays. In the offense side they’re still ok I guess.

  33. Allen Lofton Says:

Need – Defensive lineman, Linebacker, Receiver, another TE, Gronk is slower running this year, keep Playoff Lenny, and have TB come back one more time.

  34. #1bucsfan Says:

    😢

  35. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Sure, the defense played poorly…..but the offense contributed to the loss….

3 points in the first half?……3……

The oline was manhandled by the Rams on most plays….Brady had very little time, rushed his throws and was off……receivers didn’t get open….and BL went to the run on 2nd downs too often…..

    Where were the screens?

    Special teams were awful….

  36. August 1976 Buc Says:

Westernbuc…..As I’ve pointed out, much to the annoyance of many people, Dirk Koetter could beat the Saints. Bruce Arians can’t. And he can’t beat the Rams either.

Arians with Jameis gave McVay his worst beating in 2019 in LA 55-40.

And the run Defense was historically good in 2019, they had the 4th best run defense since the merger in 1970. And the best run defense in several decades.
They ended up top 5 in defense in 2019.

So just want to be real about what has been done.

They were the first defense to strangle Mahomes and the holding Mahomes without a TD for the first time in his career, when all were waiting for the Chiefs to destroy the Bucs.

So many are blasting Bowles, but in reality has done well overall.
Yesterday was a painful thing to see, but Bowles is not the problem.

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  37. Jajybuc Says:

Darden = Dexter Jackson (the bad one)

  38. rrsrq Says:

My go to all Bucs coverage year around. This one will take a minute (especially not knowing what this team will look like next year)

  39. Listnfrmafar Says:

August, you’re a dip shat. Bucs brought back to 0-0 and with 28 seconds left Rams on their on 30, no TO’s you let the best receiver in the game uncovered. It is actually hard to lose in that situation. As far the Bill’s, all on ST coach & McDermott, you don’t kick the ball out of the endzone with 13 secs. left in the game. Go back to your igloo and defrost your brain.

  40. Bojim Says:

    We’re still with you Joe!

  41. D-Rok Says:

Love this site Joe’s and will still be a daily reader. This loss stings but hey, I woke up this morning, so it’s not the end of the world. At least our team was competitive all year long (mostly) and gave us fans something to cheer for. Thanks for the ride, Buccaneers team, and Joe Bucs Fan. Onto next year…

    GO BUCS!!

  42. August 1976 Buc Says:

List you are being your normal sourpuss self, why be on here, you are not a fan of this team, and that you could really care less about the Bucs.

It is a new day, but you have to live with your sourpuss self everyday, lol and that is far worse than some team losing a game.

Oh I thought you were leaving this site like you said, but no, it was just a bunch of CR*P also, like you comments.

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  43. Steve Gaudreau Says:

Will TB12 be back next year? He played well in the second half, couldn’t do anything in the first half. Seen that before but letting Cooper Kupp blow by you with seconds on the clock was all on the defense. Those bastids! Great game. Can’t win them all.

  44. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

If Tom is even CONSIDERING retirement then he should retire!! What always kept Brady going was to prove to himself and to everyone else that he was better than they have him credit for … He’s shown that over and over and over!!! How’s kids are getting older, he didn’t look quite as good as he has in the past this year (don’t get me wrong still think he’s MVP) but with the amazing time he had in the pocket all year any NFL QB can look good!! When he got pressured you could see the tiniest of step he lost in not seeing the field quick enough!! The arm is still there, still throwing lasers, he’s not quite as accurate anymore but not by much, but he isn’t seeing the field as quickly anymore …. And one more full year will just ask that stuff and then he’ll go down like so many other greats that played past their prime!! … Football isn’t my life, I really could care less what happens to a bunch of arrogant millionaires that can just run fast with a football…. But I have a lot of respect for Brady!! And I don’t want to see him go out like some have…. This was a good way to go out bringing your team back from impossible odds and your defensive coordinator letting you down!! this game could never be blamed on Brady he came to a different franchise and won a super bowl with the worst team in the NFL with the most losses in the NFL that hadn’t even sniffed the playoffs before he got there in YEARS!!! he’s the greatest to ever play the game and needs to go out that way

  45. Zac Says:

I feel like the NFL is rigged. Four fumbles by the Rams? Short on a 47 yard field goal? How do you let someone get behind you at the end of the game on defense? None of these things make sense

  46. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Zac.. the only way you can rig a game like football is to pay off the refs … And that sure looked suspicious last night!! … There’s no video of teams choreographing their games or anything like that which you would have to do if you really were setting the games up!! I played football all the way up through college and nobody ever told me to throw a game or anything even close to that but there were times that I would have swore the refs were on the other team side!!

  47. Dann Says:

Brady is great but all they needed was a first down. Then milk the clock and score a TD to tie. There would have been less than twenty seconds. Squid the kickoff go into overtime.

  48. alton d green Says:

Ladies and germs I hate to say I told ya so but “I TOLD YA SO” Before the game i said “i’m really curious to see how many passes/touchdowns Kupp catches before Bowles doubles him.” What happened? Kupp made our defense look like punks. But thats not the dumbest thing. Todd calls a blitz and left the #1 receiver one on 1/2. SUICIDE. There are 31 other teams. would someone PLEASE hire Bowles. I have complained about him since the 1st game Tom played in

  49. Aaron Says:

Was a good 1 but told y’all wasn’t gonna buy this superbowl

  50. BucsCoolade Says:

    Oh no..

Brady knows Airhead Arians caused AB to leave.. also his game management was bad.

Antonio brown could have made some first downs so the game was closer. Then the game finishes differently. Brady would have played with more confidence knowing what Brown can do.

Sorry brucee… ya screwed brady and yur team.. and now it’s kinda obvious… even tho it wasnt mentioned above in the analysis.

  51. Steven L. Benner Says:

If we had a Kicker that could actually Kick the ball straight the game would’ve went into Overtime. We actually could’ve WON THE GAME if we would’ve had 2 defenders on Cooper Cupcakes!!! How could we let this happen??!!! Their #1 receiver only covered by 1 person!!! And our kicker really NEEDS TO GO! It’s not the 1st time this season he missed a chip shot….30 yard FG! He definitely cost us the game!!!! Had we covered Cupcake and not missed that FG We Would’ve Won the Game!!! Seemed like the coaches just watched on and did nothing.

  52. Eric b Says:

The DC needs to Be FIRED!!! 30 SECONDS NO TIME OUT AND YOU LEAVE 1 ON 1 COVERAGE??? SHOULD OF BEEN TWO HIGH SAFETY IR OREVENT DEFENSE THEY HAD NO CHIICE BUT TO GET A FG AND THEY KNEW THEY WOULD OF LOST IN OT!!! WTF BRADY AND CO, DID ALL THAT TO TIE THE GAME WITH HALF A TEAM JUST TO LOSE IT WITH SOME DUMB NO COMMON SENSE PLAYCALLING

  53. Bige Says:

This game was lost before the season started. This secondary is atrocious! They got smoked last year when the pass rush wasn’t overwhelming. They should have traded for stephon Gilmore instead of that other bum Seymour. Case in point both saints games last year and the chiefs game. There front seven is the best in football so they exposed some bad offensive lines in there playoff run last year. If Brady is the def actor gm expect to see a couple of x Patriots on this team starting with Gilmore and possibly jc Jackson if belicheat doesn’t pay him. Also he needs a slot receiver. Look for amendola and James white to be bucs next year. Expect Godwin back along with cordalle Patterson who Brady won a title with in 18. I think they could benefit from letting both back up tight ends walk along with every corner they have because they all don’t challenge the ball. Davis is there best and he’s average at best. The rams and saints are there road blocks to the title next year. They also need to be more disciplined and better at situational football! Not sending a zero blitz when the should of been in quarters. I really was hoping ba was done this year and hand the Reigns over to leftwitch and bring Flores over to run the defense. Hell of a wish list I know but you need to improve every year not stand pat like they did this year.
