Carlton Davis, Sean Murphy-Bunting “Questionable” For Sunday
January 14th, 2022Oh, boy. Just beautiful timing to perhaps be down two starting corners.
We all know how this Bucs defense simply collapses like a Jenga game on the patio of a Big Storm Brewery taproom when a starting corner goes down. It’s very frustrating for Joe how one position starter missing can implode a defense so badly. But welcome to the Bucs in 2022.
The final injury report for the Bucs came out this afternoon and lo and behold who appears? The Bucs’ best corner, Carlton Davis.
Unreal!
It seems Davis is listed as “questionable” with a bad back. But as Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians said today, if a guy can play he will play. There may not be a next week.
So Joe guesses Davis gets a few shots to kill the pain and gets on the field.
Davis, and other guys who can get on the field despite injuries, have all next week to rest up if need be. Davis is not the only starting corner up. So too is Sean Murphy-Bunting. He is listed as “questionable” with a bum hamstring.
Joining the two corners as questionable for Sunday is wide receiver Justin Watson.

not good
not good at all
Desir better play his arse off along with cockerell
January 14th, 2022 at 3:42 pm
Are you trying to tell me there’s NOTHING wrong with Jamel Dean? I gotta call BS on that
January 14th, 2022 at 3:44 pm
Farg. Possess the ball long time. Really long.
January 14th, 2022 at 3:44 pm
Unfreakingbelievable! The Bucs just can’t catch a break with the injuries this year. Still, I think the Bucs are going to plow through the Eagles, so hopefully it all works out and these guys can play as we go into the next week or two.
January 14th, 2022 at 3:48 pm
Training staff needs to be looked at. How many hamstring injuries have we had this year? Something isn’t being done properly or well enough.
January 14th, 2022 at 3:49 pm
Well, definitely not the best news.
I wonder how you keep the defense off the field and fresh?
January 14th, 2022 at 3:52 pm
These guys don’t go visit Guerrero?
Isn’t TB12 all about pliability? Sounds like they could use some.
January 14th, 2022 at 3:54 pm
Questionable is not doubtful. They’ll play – it’s the freakin playoffs! How well they play is “questionable”, but they’ll give it all they’ve got.
Go Bucs – dirt nap Philly!
January 14th, 2022 at 4:07 pm
They need some of that tb12 method. Like I said. It’s the defense I’m worried about not the offense. Now we will see if they can adopt.
January 14th, 2022 at 4:07 pm
They have to put Guerrero on the payroll at this point. Bruce’s sports science with hammies ain’t cutting it.
January 14th, 2022 at 4:11 pm
Hamstrings have been an issue for years. I don’t pay attention to other teams, but I have to ask, is this common?
January 14th, 2022 at 4:13 pm
You guys are so worried about injuries but I’m more worried about the weather which will lead to fumbles, dropped passes and inevitably more injuries.
January 14th, 2022 at 4:14 pm
What will we do without our Toast?
January 14th, 2022 at 4:15 pm
Over 50% of our defensive starters seem to be hurting in one way or another. Yes most of them will dress & play, but it’s a question of how effective they’ll be when they play. Eagles will run them from one side of the field to the other to wear them down. And by the 4th qtr that’s very likely what’ll happen.
Bucs best chance is probably for our offense to control the ball for at least 35 minutes in this game and put up 30 pts or more in the process. Eagles best chance is to do exactly the same thing, keep attacking our weaknesses (guys who are hurting), and put up a lot of points in the process too. Gut feel is that the team with the least number of giveaways will win.
January 14th, 2022 at 4:16 pm
Dank farrik!!!!
January 14th, 2022 at 4:17 pm
Lol. I feel like Danny Devito in Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia dropping acid when the gang goes to try out for the Eagles.
January 14th, 2022 at 4:22 pm
after AB’s complain that he was force to play injured; any small and insignificant pain that a player brings up, BA and Bucs are not going to give the press and/or NFLPA any reason for investigation.
So sure, “questionable” 🙄
January 14th, 2022 at 4:23 pm
Seems to be the Bucs DB’s are made of glass, very fragile and delicate. 🤣🤣🤣
January 14th, 2022 at 4:24 pm
Gamesmanship. Nobody is 100% right now and the Bucs want to keep Philly guessing. “Do we run? Do we pass? Who’s playing on D for the Bucs? Where’s the weakness to exploit?” they must be asking themselves as the injury report keeps changing.
January 14th, 2022 at 4:25 pm
And Cyril Grayson is out…….it really pi$$es me off to hear a media person pronounce it Cyril…..BA has it right with Cyril…….Joe never misses because he writes it correctly….Cyril……
So…..pronounce it Cyril….not Cyril.
January 14th, 2022 at 4:26 pm
Well, Brady needs to eat more of the clock by utilizing playoff Lenny more. Keep the ball away from the Eagles offense. In Brady I trust!
January 14th, 2022 at 4:34 pm
So, here’s our list of injured or recovering from injury.
Fournette, JPP, Shaq, Davis, Bunting, Whitehead, Watson, Grayson, LVD, Rojo, Vaughn, Pinion, Jensen, Godwin, Nelson, Stinnie, Oconnor,Bernard,,Perriman, Sherman ……And with an injured brain, AB. (probably missed a few)
Hell, that’s a football team.
January 14th, 2022 at 4:35 pm
Who cares about gamesmanship right now????
………….honestly……if we can give these guys another week off to rest for a more important game to win……then I’m all for it.
The problem though….is that everyone knows the Eagles will be using an offense like the Bills and they’ll be running all day long…….are the backup DBs smart enough to play sideline to sideline and tackle?????
Not too many DBs are great tacklers in the NFL and that’s why starting DBs are worth so much to every team.
January 14th, 2022 at 4:37 pm
Yeah
I’d really reevaluate the medical and training staff if I were the GLAZERS…..cause that an astronomical amount of injured players for any team……yet alone many of the players are contributors.
January 14th, 2022 at 4:42 pm
so dramatic, both playing
January 14th, 2022 at 4:49 pm
Ok this training staff is not good. I watch injury reports all the time and the answer is NO this is not common so many hamstring injuries on one team. How is this even possible if they are doing walk throughs? From the coaching staff down total incompetence. How come Brady or Gronk aren’t tweaking hamstrings? I’ll tell you why their trainer is legit. The training staff must be on the same part time schedule as the coaches. Probably BA’s neices & nephews interning for their community college. Can you say one & done, Brady retire?
January 14th, 2022 at 4:51 pm
Word of the year is hamstring.
January 14th, 2022 at 4:58 pm
They’re both playing.
January 14th, 2022 at 5:04 pm
Injuries really hurting our chances. Been hoping all year we could get right before the playoffs. Here we are and the situation may be getting worse.
We can only hope Davis Bunting and Lenny can get onto the field.
January 14th, 2022 at 5:07 pm
It is all about 4-0 right now.
It will take a minor miracle to win 4 in a row with so many beat up players.
We will see, but going into this post season with 1 hand tied behind their back is not fun for any Bucs fan.
Again it is all about 4-0 now, nothing else ends well.
Only 1 team of the 14 teams wins their last game, and that is hard to do even with your starting 22 actually being able to play.
GO “RAG TAG BEAT UP BATTALION” BUCS!!!!!!
January 14th, 2022 at 5:11 pm
With the same trainers we were probably the healthiest team in football last year…….but i guess they just forgot how to do thier jobs. Or maybe they stopped caring. Or they just was lucky last year.
Blaming trainers is the scapegoat of the ignorant.

Blaming trainers is the scapegoat of the ignorant.
So how do you explain this List, Jimmy J is just stating the facts
but you keep singing the same tune everyday,
It goes something like “This coaching staff sux, this coaching staff is this and this staff is that”.
Maybe find a different song List lololololol
January 14th, 2022 at 5:42 pm
It’s not the trainers, it’s the trainees……
Let’s blame BA…..Licht…….the Glazers…….or if you want to really go to the top…..God.
January 14th, 2022 at 5:52 pm
Unreal. For all the good health they had last year, it has been more than made up for in the opposite direction this year. Ridiculous.
I am guessing they’ll be fine. They need Davis to cover Smith while everyone else stops the run.
The defense is coming down to how healthy and fresh Shaq, JPP, Suh, Gholston, and Vita will look. Along with Nacho and Nelson
January 14th, 2022 at 5:53 pm
Maybe the players need to recalibrate with off season conditioning? There was quite a few players that predicted more injuries with a shortened preseason. A lot of non Brady types need to learn from this year and tighten up.
January 14th, 2022 at 5:59 pm
We are going to be ok. Everyone take a deep breath lol.
January 14th, 2022 at 5:59 pm
The NFL turned the 4th preseason game into a regular season game. It is the same amount of weeks being played this year as last year for preseason and regular season combined.
GO BUCS!!!!
January 14th, 2022 at 6:02 pm
Run the damn ball
January 14th, 2022 at 6:03 pm
Tom Brady can only do so much. This defense and especially the secondary have been as brittle as a saltine cracker from day 1 this year. Unbelievable.
January 14th, 2022 at 6:13 pm
August 1976 you must have me confused with somebody else if you think im here everyday saying the coaching staff is no good.
If you want to say the training staff is the absolute reason for some injuries then we must be fair and say the training staff is also the reason for our great health last year.
If you wannt tell me about facts let me know which fact explains why the trainers are terrible this year but were great last year. Tell me what they are doing different? Of couse, neither of us can answer that because we have no idea what the training staff does on a daily basis………..We are ignorant to what the Traibers do thats why it a scapegiat of the ignorant.
January 14th, 2022 at 6:21 pm
Jimmy J, I was using what you stated about last year, to ask Listnfrmafar about it, We know that List is a Lover of BA and the Coaching staff Lolololol.
He seems to just love singing the same song everyday. List makes some valid points at times, but usually sprinkled with a negative jab at the Coaching staff, or a straight out garbage comment of negative bias against BA and the staff.
Like you said JJ, this is the same staff that was in place last year for the Super Bowl run, AS one of the healthiest teams.
GO BUCS!!!!!!
January 14th, 2022 at 6:57 pm
not related to income Sunday game, but great news:
~~
“Bucs star WR Chris Godwin underwent successful surgery to repair his ACL and MCL, a procedure performed by noted expert Dr. James Andrews in Florida today (Jan 3), source said. There was no meniscus damage for the pending top free agent, who will make a full recovery.”
~~
“full recovery” for our star CG.
January 14th, 2022 at 7:31 pm
August you ignorant dweeb. Brady leads the league in td’s, Bucs lead the league in hamstring injuries. There are 3 scenarios why this is happening. Training/ medical staff not doing their job, keep mind ( as small as yours may be) this is the same staff that cleared Gronk to play, allow Godwin to run up and down the sidelines, let LVD go back into the game. Option 2, the players tweaking these things are not stretching properly or slacking or 3, The way they are practicing is causing some adverse effects. It’s to consistent to be a coincidence. Grayson admitted after the Jets his legs were smoked from running routes and playing ST’s. The following week he he pulled a hamstring which tells me his fatigue legs were never addressed in the training room. Say what you want the proof is in the pudding, the Eagles are coming in pretty damn healthy. Here’s a little tidbit I heard today fans, there’s a little animosity going on between BA & TB12. Maybe the AB situation really didn’t have to happen. Go Bucs!
January 14th, 2022 at 7:36 pm
SMB sucks anyways. Only plays because he’s a second round pick.
January 14th, 2022 at 8:14 pm
When are we going to start to question the mental toughness of this group ???
January 14th, 2022 at 8:43 pm
Lololololol
List you are captain troll daddy lolololol
Just spewing more ignorant shots at people. Whether the coaching staff or others.
Just taking shots out of you unhappy life.
Try to have a good day.
GO BUCS!!!!!!
January 14th, 2022 at 9:16 pm
We all know Jamal Dean will go out at some point in the game. The question is not if, but when. If Davis doesn’t play that means we will be down at least 2 DBs at some point in the game, and bunting is hurt now…
We need you Carlton !!
January 14th, 2022 at 9:33 pm
Just a little observation about AB. We all watched him ditch his jersey and pads and then run off the field. Now he wasn’t going at full speed mind you, but if, as he said he had an ankle so painful he didn’t want to go in the game, why wasn’t he favoring either ankle? He even jumped up and down a little bit. I’m calling BS on his claim he was too injured to play. I am in a walking boot myself for an injury to my right foot, and there sure as hell is no sprinting or jumping. I can’t even walk without a limp. When he made his mad little dash off the field, he sure did not look like a man with limited mobility. I noticed no limp. No catch in his step. Am I the only one that noticed this?
January 14th, 2022 at 9:41 pm
Seems none commenting are taking into account the 4 tough playoff games the Bucs played at the end of last year.
Not only was it 4 extra games of wear and tear on these guys bodies (many of our best players are late 20s or 30s) – it also shortened their ‘offseason’ and recovery time by 5 weeks compared to most other teams.
Add the extra game this year and its no wonder a # of these guys bodies are not “cooperating” with their minds desire to play balls to the wall – week in and week out for 5 months straight.
And Lets not forget that even with all the injuries – this team is 21-4 in their last 25 games….
January 14th, 2022 at 10:00 pm
@ List you forgot #4
Everyone plays the defending Super Bowl champs hard and the extra pressure guys put on extremities to make a play.
I know it’s hard for most couch potatoes on this thread to realize, yes it’s hard to pull a hammy eating a bag of chips.
How much pressure on the hammy do you think it takes ME to get his 240lb frame moving?
He has issues with it his whole career.
It’s not the training staff it’s a bunch of freaking cry babies who want to point a finger for their misery.
Yes it sucks but they will win this game and be healthier next week.
Be positive dang.
LFG Bucs.
January 14th, 2022 at 10:16 pm
Arians giving too many people opportunities
January 14th, 2022 at 10:18 pm
Would be an interesting article how experienced is the training staff
January 14th, 2022 at 10:56 pm
I saw Mike Edwards on the sideline, fully suited up, but didn’t seem him in the game.
He is a talented, multi- position kind of guy; I hope Arians is playing petty about the fake COVID card, we night need him, badly.
January 14th, 2022 at 11:38 pm
Both are soft and break down all the time. Out trainers suck ass
January 15th, 2022 at 1:58 am
when asked about the justin watson key injury, brady said…
“who?”
January 15th, 2022 at 5:08 am
Bucs had far more injuries this year than they did last year; key starters seemed to be dropping like flies starting with our very first game. We’ve had 30 players miss games because of injuries, and the majority of those have missed multiple games. Literally half of those have been starters, and the majority of those have been on the defensive side of the ball.
A number of JBFers have blamed the training staff, but I seriously doubt that’s the reason. Not only is it the same staff from last season, but also almost all of our players have made it back onto the roster. Many from some serious injuries, so that should be a credit to our training staff.
I lean towards 4 reasons why the Bucs have had so many injuries this year:
1 – Training. COVID’s once again impacted the way our guys train, and most likely how much they’re training. Just like it’s impacted each of us in some way in our jobs & daily life. It’s a distraction IOW, that impacts our daily lives one way or another. But it’s probably more than COVID; many of our players are older & Father Time seems to be catching up with some of them.
2 – High starter snaps. In certain position groups the Bucs haven’t had the depth to rotate guys more & keep them fresh. Shaq is a good example of that. Look at his first 15 games, and it appears that he’s been averaging in the range of 80-90% def snaps per game. Devin White played in all 17 games despite being banged up, and got 100% def snaps in 13 of those games. The list goes on & on.
3 – Too much pass defense. Bucs were #11 in the NFL in terms of Total Offensive Plays Against (1,093). We were #32 in Rushes Attempted Against (366), BUT … #1 in Passes Attempted Against (680), plus 47 sacks which represent even more passing attempts. IOW teams attempted to pass against us two-thirds of the time (66.5% of their plays). And most games it was significantly higher than that (only a handful really ran against us a bunch). That’s a LOT of pass defense, a LOT of running with lots of starts & stops, and a LOT of tackling by our Secondary especially.
4 – Heavy blitzing. Bucs also led the NFL in Blitzing Percentage (40.8% … we were only team with over 300 blitzes; most were well less than 200). The results were good; we led the league in Total Pressures (219) & in Pressure Percentage (28.6%). However, blitzing so much has to take its toll, on both those blitzing AND those who aren’t blitzing trying to cover so much territory.
January 15th, 2022 at 6:19 am
DR, you mentioned White & Shaq, neither had hamstring injuries. It’s not the joint or bone injuries, it’s the muscle pulls, though we haven’t heard of too many groin injuries. You do bring out a very valid point, players especially DB’s and WR’S are not getting the rest they normally do and playing more snap counts and the Grayson effect could be the case. Lenny’s is different he landed funkie. So August if you provided this analogy versus the stupid shat you always write I would of happily been humbled. DR, that makes perfect sense to me.
January 15th, 2022 at 6:20 am
My only question is, when are these guys getting hurt? Walking off the bus! Seems like these injuries happen in the middle of the week. GOBUCS!
January 15th, 2022 at 7:18 am
So August if you provided this analogy versus the stupid shat you always write I would of happily been humbled.
Your attitude is what is stupid, constant stream of negative crap.
Maybe just get real with yourself instead of complaining all the time.
Your life must suck to be negative and complain all the time.
Maybe try and have a good day for once lolololololol.
Enjoy your humble pie.
GO BUCS!!!!
January 15th, 2022 at 9:26 am
August, I post my opinion as does everyone else. Yes I am negative about the coaching staff because BA and the clown possy have done nothing to make me believe different. Your comeback will be, “Ya, dey won superbowl last season, idiot.” And I will say Brady changed the dynamics and got very talented players in and current players to perform to their abilities. I gave Bowles credit for the SB D scheme. I wrote Evan’s is good but AB is better. Obviously not as a person but as a overall receiver he is and proved it many times. My opinion still stands, BA is a lazy hypocrite that delegates then takes credit when things are good but has no problem passing the buck (no pun intended) when things go bad. BL, what I’ve seen runs the most basic least creative offense in the league. Bowles is Bucs best coach of the
three headed monsters but once a poor pass covering D and powerhouse running D is now mediocre at best in both and the fact ST has never been addressed boggles me. BA is burnt out, PERIOD. So put your normal apparel of 44″ sweatpants on grab your bag of jalapeño doritos, Bud heavy talls and enjoy the games today. This team with it’s talent even with injuries should of been 16-1 or 15-2 with better coaching.
