The Eagles Beat One Team With A Winning Record

January 12th, 2022

Time to put down your Big Storm beer and play a fun playoff game.

Put your right hand in the air and point one finger to the sky.

Great job! You’re now displaying how many winning teams the Eagles beat this season.

Back in November, the Eagles manhandled the Slimy Saints (9-8) and third-string quarterback Trevor Siemian.

That’s it.

One easily could argue the Eagles are the softest club in the NFL playoffs, with the least experienced head coach and little postseason experience. Joe is willing to go there and be all cocky. It’s fun! Philly is coming out of the NFC East, which is paper thin compared to the NFC West and its three representatives in the playoffs.

For those wondering, the Bucs have beaten five clubs that finished with winning records this season. The Bucs also finished 7-1 at home, where they’ve won 10 of the last 11 games, including the Super Bowl.

Yeah, there’s a lot of love out there for the quality of the Eagles’ play in the trenches. And it’s justified. But Joe sees the Eagles playing the Bucs on Sunday to at best (for them) a stalemate in the trenches.

If that actually happened, then Joe would still give the Bucs a major edge in the game thanks to Tom Brady, Mike Evans, Rob Gronkowski and a much more opportunistic secondary.

Just solve the run defense problem. Phili’s best chance of pulling off the upset is winning Time of Possession. That’s their formula.

  2. Anonymous Says:

Yet if you ask an Eagles fan they’re deluding themselves into thinking they will beat us. So hey whatever…

  3. JGhotier Says:

…and 0 teams that are in the Playoffs, meanwhile, the Bucs are 4-1 against the Playoff teams this year (the 2nd best record against Playoff foes out of all 14 teams that are in, bested only by the Green Bay ‘Dairy’ère)

  4. Francisco Guzman Says:

Still can’t overlook them. Better stop that running game. Keep hurts in the pocket.

  5. Francisco Guzman Says:

I remember last year washington gave this team a good game. Anything is possible. Just hope for a fast start and not a slow one.

  6. Pewter Power Says:

Last time joe talked like that we had the Washington football coming up next. Please dial it down since regular season is irrelevant now

  7. DBS Says:

it’s the playoffs. Now everyone is 0-0. I take nothing for granted. The way our players have been going down all i can do is hope for the best Because we have the best. Tom Brady.

  8. PassingThru Says:

Agreed Francisco… getting ahead by a couple of TDs will force Phili into passing more. That means start aggressively.

    A SNEAKY FEELING …

    1. LB/OLBs are going to absolutely go off!!!
JPP and Shaq are rested. White is tired of taking flack. LVD is back. HAVOK!

    2. Safeties are going to have big days.
When our LBs have good days … Winfield and Whitehead make big plays.

Y’all it’s GO TIME so LFG!!!

  10. Howard Cosell Says:

HWGA with the overconfidence. You’d think we’d learn our lesson.
    WWTBD?

  11. Ash Says:

Not overly confident at all with how the run defense has been playing lately think they will win but it’s going to be close

Please, run the ball, to set up Tom’s play action. And please put Mike in motion and let him run routes from the slot once in a while. Plus we all know Mike is a blocking beast so can block from the slot as well. I hope you’ve come up with some unique blocking schemes for the OL to spring whoever is toting the rock, that the Beagles aren’t expecting.

If you drop Tom back 20 times in a row to start the game you will cause us to lose this game. Please don’t do that.

Go review the opening script for the Giants game. That was very novel and very effective.

    Thank you, your friend, Swampbuc

Not so fast. NFL parity. Any Given Sunday. Challenge to sweep teams twice in same season. Playoffs > regular season. Philly won’t be a cakewalk, my friend(s).

How many Eagles fans did you ask? Thought so.

The big question is, are they healthy? I was there when the Eagles had no chance against Pat’s in SB, their starting QB was NickFolles. How’d that workout. Bucs need to play like they were playing GB, any given Sunday.

the eagles and jalene hurts are not all that…

if we play our game we should get thru this round okay…

    31-17……..34-20……..something like that

you never know, we might serve these mofos up…like 40-17…

an send ’em back to philly on a old broken down bus with and cicily tyson telling them to sit down and be good boys, with ronde barber driving and swerving lanes like a sauced up hilaria

    🙂

  18. PassingThru Says:

Nick Foles had his way because the brilliant Bill Belichick decided to bench Malcolm Butler, plus their starting slot corner Jonathan Jones went down with a knee injury during the AFC Championship game. The rumor is that Butler mouthed off to either Steve Belichick or Matt Patricia, and Belichick sat him down. Butler was crying on the bench.

Without 2 starting CBs, and terrible defensive depth, Belichick started two warm bodies who were more special teamers than legit backups.

Brady threw for a Super Bowl record 505 yards, with 3 TDs and 0 INTs, and yet he barely lost the game.

  19. captivajim Says:

In the 1st game ; ME only had 2 catches for 27yrds & that was with CG playing.. Evans will have to do better against their Slay their CB–who will line up with ME on either side..However , Gronk did not play in that game–so he will likely be a big factor across the middle for us ..
The weather forecast looks awfull—but with Lenny back + Bell + Vaughn ,,we should be able to run–which our O line would prefer if its sloppy.

  20. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I am relying on the fact that our entire Oline is healthy & intact….that bodes well for Brady…..we have enough talent with our TEs, RBs, WRs to score……

Hopefully, our defense will play well….if they do, we will win easily.

  21. Rod Munch Says:

The 1999 St Louis Scams, the greatest scam on turf, also played a cupcake schedule, got outplayed by the Bucs in their playoff game, and it didn’t matter since the refs determined the outcome of the game.

  22. Swampbuc Says:

    Hey adam from NY —

    Jalene?!?!

    ROTFL awesome name for him!

  23. DavidBigBucFan99 Says:

We score 30+ points it won’t matter. We’re 55-0 when scoring that much. We score quickly and often they’ll be forced to rely on Hurtz’s arm and we know eventually how that will work out.

  24. Bojim Says:

With the Bucs, it doesn’t mean sht. Get some!!!

  25. Buddha Says:

Football Outsiders has Philadelphia as 25th defense and 25 against the pass. Only way Eagles win is if they control the clock.

  26. Anthony Says:

Playoffs are a different beast. Plus the eagles rested awesome so they will bring it

  27. Steven M. Says:

    Don’t take anything for granted
Always bring your A game. The
Eagles beat the Patriots several years ago.
    Go BUC’s !

  28. Anonymous Says:

Never under estimate a team, also we have to contain hurts and keep him in the pocket and make him throw which will create turnovers. Take away thier strengths capitalize on thier weakness. LFGO!!! TAMPA BAY ALL THE WAY
