Richard Sherman Is Done For The Season

Time for Richard Sherman to put his coach hat back on.
The Bucs placed him on injured reserve today (again) with a bad Achilles.
Tampa Bay’s experiment with the old superstar cornerback failed on the field — he was slow and bad and broken down — but there’s been upside in the locker room. Heck, Devin White even explained that Sherman has improved the team’s performance in zone coverage and its practice approach. And there have been many other positive anecdotes from defensive backs.
Hopefully, Sherman stays locked in and focused rather than heading home to the West coast. Yeah, it happens. Jameis Winston, for example, abandoned the slimy Saints for nearly two months to rehab his knee in Alabama.

We all know Sherman’s best attribute to this team is his experience and mental approach.
I agree. I truly hope he stays apart of the program through the playoffs.

When we win our next Lombardi Trophy in February will Sherman get a ring because of his contributions to this season?

Sherman should become a secondary coach the D-Coordinator. He has the brains and talent.

I truly hope he sticks around as a coach for these young defensive backs. But to bring him in to fill in for injured players was an object in total failure.

Sucks for Sherman but mostly irrelevant to the Bucs chances of repeating as he was mostly invisible save one INT. Where I lost any support for Sherman was when he said on his podcast that Rodgers deserved the MVP over Brady. Screw him. That’s your frickin QB jerk,

Both agree that Brady is the MVP. For every logical reason.

Shocker, huh.
I thought Sherman wouldn’t last on the playing field, not due to injury but rather from getting wind burn from speedier receivers. But I always thought Sherman would make a very good coach, he’s always been a thinking-man’s CB.

I actually like Richard Sherman quite a bit. I hope he can rehab get into serious playing shape and rejoin us next year as a CB/FS backup…
He was pulled off the street and still performed admirably.
Perhaps TB12 needs to get him hooked up with the right people.

Well, for all the money he made to be nothing more than a warm body for a few games, he ought to coach up our DBs like an animal to help us get 4 W’s in a row.

Looking at Sherman’s deal, now I know why he hasn’t been active…
“Sherman has $350,000 in per game roster bonuses. Sherman has incentives for playtime + the Buccaneers reaching the playoffs.”
Wow, if that’s correct, he’s getting $350k per game, I’m shocked he didn’t just go home once they started not dressing him each week. Good on him, to be sure, but that’s a deal you sign figuring you’re going to be active. Hopefully the Bucs were very honest and said he’s only playing if they have no other choice.
Overall though he seems to have had a positive impact on the young guys, and he wasn’t that expensive for a former superstar player.

Seems like Xavier Howard wants out of Miami. If Bowles gets a head coaching job, maybe we could get Howard and Flores in a package deal.

That didn’t matter much this year. At any given time we had so many people hurt throughout the season that getting open spots when needed wasn’t an issue at all.

Well it is not a shock to me that Ben Green is a “guilty until proved innocent” type of poster.
He accuses Richard Sherman of using steroids when he was never found guilty of using steroids. Apparently, Ben does not understand a legal process, or a sample process, or just generally being a stand up person.

I would hardly say he was a waste of a roster spot. There were a couple games where they had to pull someone off the street to play. I’d rather have him in there than Desir.
Just the knowledge he bestowed on the young DBs was worth the signing.

Any of you saying he will not stay around obviously have not followed his career. I am a 12 (hawks fan -not Brady’s number). When he ruptured his achilles he was in incredible pain yet refused to leave field in order to coach up corners. Immediately post surgery he was at every practice & game coaching up corners. Same thing when he played for 49ers. He is all in and WILL BE THERE!!’n
